Using the band for pull-downs

Ok-so I got Cathe's red band that come with the door attachment. I put it over the door and it does look secure. But I am scared to death that it will pop over when Im pulling it down and I will injure myself. Someone please tell me that is not the case..For those using this set up - do you feel secure enough to pull? Thanks..

I have used it that way and have not had it pull out. I think it would be pretty tough for it to pull out.

On a somewhat related topic..... I know some people feel they're not getting as hard a work there as with a chin-up, but I feel like I can concentrate on getting the work into my back better using the band, so I try to do some of each.

At 1st I was worried about the same thing, but I haven't had any problems with it. I make sure the door is closed properly & my feet are braced against it. To add a little intensity, I use the microloaded gloves with it & then try to focus on my form & getting the work into my back.

Hi Measuredoak! That's a creative way to add resistance but be sure it doesn't over fatigue your shoulder (especially in Meso One with higher reps) as on your way back up with your arms you are technically doing a lightly weighted overhead press. Just some food for thought.

I've been wearing my weighted gloves as well b/c I didn't feel like I was getting the same results as if I had a pullup bar.

Not to worry Cathe, I'm in Meso Two wk 3. In Meso One, I just focused on getting the move right. But thanks for your comment, I hadn't really thought about the shoulder action. I'll definitely keep that in mind.
