My DVD player broke!!!

At least it had the decency to wait until AFTER I finished my STS workout yesterday! :p

So, any recommendations on a good DVD player for my workout room? Mine was so old and I don't even know what's available these days.

I have 3 identicalToshiba DVD/VHS players which I bought at Sears - they are easy to operate, and have been used a lot. They were about $89.00, if I remember right.

Thank you!! Yeah, I have a Toshiba in my family room and it's been very reliable. The one that broke is a Sony that we've only had for a couple of years.

Thanks you, Cakebaker!!

I second the Toshiba recommendation. We have 3 different DVD players, and the most reliable one (which also happens to be the cheapest) is the Toshiba. It plays everything.

Michele! I'm not really qualified to give DVD player advice, but just wanted to say I'm sorry that yours decided to die.

Thanks you guys!! I just got back from Best Buy and I'm telling you, supplies are SO low! I found the player I wanted -- a Toshiba for 60 some dollars -- but they didn't have it in stock. So I found another one for around 40 bucks, and again, it was out of stock. Then as I took stock I realized that they only had a handful available to sell, and one HUGE stack of Sony's, which sort of answered my question about those ;). I ended up with a nicer Toshiba than I wanted but it was still pretty cheap at $99.

Beavs, I didn't know you could play a DVD in one of those -- LMAO!!!

Glad you bought the Toshiba Michele!

We have Sony and Toshiba. The Sony has been replaced twice (through warranty). The Toshiba was half the price and has worked without a problem for 3 years. Go figure. Price doesn't always dictate quality.

We have a Sanyo from Wal-Mart, $39.99 got it years ago, works great. It also plays VHS (kids baby videos and older Cathe workouts), never had a problem w/ it. Now watch, tomorrow it wil break:).......

I need to start shopping around for a Toshiba, I can tell my DVD player is on it's last leg. I am amazed it's still chugging along - it's some no name $19.99 player I bought in 2002!

Btw - I noticed that our Sam's Club had both a Toshiba and Sony DVD player on display. The past few times I was there they were out of the Toshiba and had dozens of the Sony. I also have a portable Sony DVD player that just took a dump, that has lasted two years, what a POS (literally!). How can I reliably workout while I'm traveling for work???? I will never buy Sony again.
