My kettlebell session with Andrea DuCane

Well, first off, Andrea is really nice and easy to talk to. We spent the whole time working on fitness tests and assessments so I didn't even touch a kettlebell:( She said I scored higher than most people on the assessments and mentioned how she likes working with athletes like myself:eek: I don't consider myself an athlete but I work hard at staying physically fit. She spent an extra 45 minutes with me at no charge and gave me a number of exercises to help with issues I have as a result of past injuries. Next week we start with the basic KB moves, swings, windmills etc.. She was using a 36 pound KB with complete ease and just blew me away. All the power came from her hips and core...it was awesome to watch.

So next week I'll let you know how I do with the actual KB. Can't wait!!

I'll be curious to hear how it goes. I keep hearing about kettlebells but know nothing about them.

JJ, you are an athlete--if you can do Cathe, you are an athlete! That's awesome. I can't wait to hear about next week's session!

What a great compliment from Andrea DuCane. :D I'd be jumping up and down if she said that to me. Very cool!

Keep us posted!

Wow, JJ, sounds like your first session was great! Definitely keep us posted on how next week's class goes!

I can definitely see why so many of you are singing the praises of KB's. Just watching her doing the moves and seeing how it works the whole body made me want to jump right in. But the technique & form seemed very precise so I really want to perfect it so I don't hurt myself.....I have a tendancy to do that!

WOW! That's so cool! I have her Kettlebell Goddess DVD and really enjoy it! Keep us posted on your next session! :)

I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!!!!! :p

JJ, that is so cool! I want to come meet you, go get fair food, and then off for a kettlebell workout -- LOL!!!

Please continue to post the details of your workouts. :D

JJ,

How cool. I haven't done a KB workout and really cannot invest in anything at this time in my life, but I did lift a few kettleballs at Target one day and 36 pounds sounds SUPER heavy to me!!!! She must know what she is doing and with that being said, she called you an athlete, than you are!!!! And just knowing what you lift for lower body, I say you are too! :D;)

Oh and can I join you and Michele for the fair food?! Then you two can go off and do a KB workout while I stay at the fair :p
