I'm in search of new tunes. I delight the day I discovered the Ting Tings or Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings so maybe one of you peeps will introduce me to something new. And please, I don't want to hear anything about American Idol...it's just to painful to contemplate. I know TeTe is tuned into something good as I type.

Sorry couldn't help myself. I just discovered the Ting Tings too.
 
The oldies...

I'm playing the oldies right now...Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and anything by The Moody Blues and The Beatles...

The DH and I saw Barry last year in Vegas for our 25th anniversary...he was very good! I like him too!

I just got back from a trip to Vegas and Barry has redone his show...everyone was raving about it. My brother was visiting from Kuwait and about the only show he hadn't seen was Cher so we did that...WE HAD A BLAST! She was amazing and boy oh boy does she look beyond fantastic for the age of 62 :eek:

This is at our local summer festival. Tried to hear the song they were playing but DH is on the broadband and I'm on the dial up. All I heard was one guitar chord at a time so I gave up.

Beavs! Funny, I saw the subject line, and I immediately thought "I'm going to tell her about the lovely Miss Sharon Jones!" and low and behold, I can't tell you anything new! I do not understand why she doesn't get more airplay. Do you know she was (is?) a guard at Sing Sing? Ok, how about Great Big Sea?

How bout some Mother Love Bone..."Man of Golden Words"..seriously fabulous songwriting...cool Seattle band way back when..then the lead singer Andrew Woods offed himself with heroin...yeah, Seattle in the 90's wasn't pretty.
