So if you're sick...

So if you're sick and you can't really exercise...and you're not hungry (I know, it's weird for me too:p )...and you're stuck at home with no one around but the cats...

What do you do with your time?

Suggestions----puhleeeezzee:)

Entertain me?
Mattea

I watch my Sex and the City DVDs or read a book. Also, I write on the Cathe board...guess you got that one covered...

Carolyn

Sleep, then watch a movie, then sleep some more, then do a little posting, then take a little nap...Oh, and make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids in between all the napping and stuff...did I mention a nap?

Thanks for the suggestions Melissa and Carolyn:)

I'm thinking video games actually sound kind of fun, but I don't have a fancy new system so I may have to go old school with the SNES, LOL.

Carolyn, what book are you into recently?

At what point do you decide, okay, you have to eat something---what should that something be? Nothing sounds good:-( I've been up for 3 hours already and---nothing!

Mattea

A & E's Pride and Prejudice. I never get tired looking at Colin Firth in this presentation. About 7 hours long.

Dawn

Ah, the beautiful world of addictinggames.com!!

Michelle-I'd love to, but I can't sleep when I'm sick, I spent most of last night in a laying/reclining kind of combo---not sleeping, just being sick:p

Dawn-Sounds perfect! I wish I had it:) I watched Masterpiece Theatre's newest version of Jane Eyre the past two Sundays, it was very well done.

Keep it coming ladies, we've got a lot of hours to fill until DH gets home:)

Mattea

Mattea, I usually use the RICE diet and lot of clear liquids when I can stomach it. It has worked for me.

Mattea, well right now I'm only reading my Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology books and I wouldn't recommend those on a sick day;-)
As soon as I have time though, I'm going to read "The Historian" and "Going Out" by Scarlett Thomas. You probably should try and eat something, just to give your body some nutrients. Maybe try some toast with herbal tea and lemon?

Hope you feel better!
Carolyn

Melissa,
That's good advice, but it's not that I can't eat anything (it's not that kind of sick, lol), it's just that I'm not hungry. Which believe you me, is a complete 180 for me, I never lose my appetite! And I'm not even THAT sick, just a sore throat, sinus, weird tired thing.

Ugh,
Mattea

I LOVE this and I watch it at least once a year. Oh yeah, Colin Firth is definitely easy on the eyes!

Shelley---that was at 3 this morning---I thought I recognized you from somewhere:p

But now you ladies have me thinking, surf for Colin Firth porn...hmmm...}(

Mattea

Mattea - boy, you really were looking at the hardcore stuff. Was it the pics with the donkey, or me with the college "drill" team? :p

Shelley-
Neither, it was, well, I hesitate to even mention this, but there were elderly people and lots of lotion;-) I didn't stay there long, but I was very impressed with the college drill team. It's not everyone who can do that in majorette boots}(

Oh THAT one. Yes it was originally intended to be a public service message about the elderly, but things went horribly awry when someone slipped Viagra into the breakfast OJ. And you know, I still have those boots?:p

Thanks for the suggested reading and eating material Carolyn. I actually ate some baby carrots, the "crunchy" felt good on my throat, so now I'll go try some very dry and hopefully scratchy toast:)

Maybe I'll take a peek at my shelves and she what's available. The problem is that I'm about 2/3 of the way through my PhD in English Lit. so most of my books are "work" books too, lol.

I'll probably be back later,
Mattea

Shelley-
Thanks, I needed that:) Maybe if I laugh a little more I'll burn off enough calories to actually be hungry. I haven't worked out in 3 days either:-(

That was me last week.
Here are some non-food things to do:

Nap.
Make and drink herbal teas and green/white teas.
Watch movies.
Read.
Brush cats.
Nap.
Do a facial.
Trim your nails.
