KK's May Check In

Good Evening!:)

Seems that we are all to a greater or lesser extent involved in things that are taking our attention, but then that's the way things go sometimes. Sorry about that, Jeanette & Rhea, sorry I had that mixed up about the root canal.

I did do IMAX2 today -- 9 intervals -- all my DVD's are in Florida and so it's odd -- I've been looking over Collage and Cathe to get maybe 1 more DVD, just to get me over. Am checking out Cathe's and also Amy Benito's workouts.

Jeanette, how did you do on the triathlon? Yes, heat can be miserable, especially when you're not used to it. How is your family doing through it all? I was alone for most of the day with my BIL, and I had to call hospice at one point as I couldn't get him back in bed and he wouldn't let me help him (embarrassing for him). It's been kinda a wild day in some respects.

Rhea, I really don't want to sound like a mother, but if you could maybe just check out those references. I know I had quite a time health wise (for 2 years) due to a root canal. Some people do okay with them. Anyway... Please forgive if I seem overly motherly.

Janie, your garden sounds fascinating and wonderful and organic. We, too, are planting a garden, but right now everything's on hold, due to circumstances. I love that your making your yard safe for your animals.

Anyway, I'm thinking about KickMax from the Hardcore series or maybe one of Amy Benito's. I've been checking out Gin Miller, as well.

Okay, so have a super day. I plan on doing ME tomorrow. :7

Morning,
Today was Christi Taylor's Still Jumpin'. Haven't done this one in ages. She cues so well that I can just jump right in there. Did a bike hill climb last night, though it was pretty windy. Today is grocery shopping to get ready for our camping trip. Also will make a cheesecake for DS's birthday. Lots of packing still to do.

Rhea, hope the tooth feels better soon. Sounds like you are busy, busy. Are you still tiling?

Janie, your garden sounds like quite a project, but a good productive one on all counts. Goodness, I can barely keep the lawns mowed and watered. The triathlon was just hot so I didn't have as good a race time as last year, plus I went off course and lost more time. Just need time to acclimate to the heat, which today it's cool, so go figure.

Karen, really tough to go thru what you are going thru right now. (((hugs))) to you and your family. Good job on doing Imax2 yesterday. There are lots of good DVD's out there.

Must run,

Jeanette

Morning,
Today was a step/weight premix from Step Jump & Pump. Will be leaving to go camping over the weekend so will see everyone later.

Have a good Memorial Day,

Jeanette

Mornin,

Sounds like everyone is doing good. You all are so inspiring.

Today will be gardening big time. I was going to do cardio, but this will do it for me. Yesterday Joey and I did a full body Cathe workout and tomorrow most likely will do a split.

I have to get going, the garden speaks,

Janie

Good afternoon!

Karen - you are never too "motherly"! I love all your links even though I don't always get to go read them. Hey, how is Georgie adjusting to his siblings?

Root canal was this morning. I have had a root canal before and didn't seem to have problems, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I had to have something done right away with this tooth because my healthy body had tried to fix the root in the tooth by itself and you could see in the xray where encapsillasion (sp? and I think that is what it is called) was happening. I liked the specialist since he sat down and described everything that he was going to do and why it was being done. (never had a dentist really explain a root canal before) Anyhoo, I'm sore, but that was to be expected after being tortured!

No workouts for me until I have the laundry room and the bathroom done. My house is a complete disaster. DH wants to go to the Lake this weekend, but how can I when I can't even wash my underwear? Men just don't understand priorities sometimes. Speaking of which, I had better get back to work.

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll still pop in tomorrow and see what's happening. I suppose I still have to go to work. DH has the day off.

Mornin,

I thought I better comment on our forum for fear it will be lost. Even if it is the weekend.

Enjoying a cup of Joe (LOL) and thinking about what needs to be done today. Gardening for me of course. Will continue to get those weeds under control.

KK, I agree with Rhea, you are never too motherly.

Rhea, I'm glad the root canal is over and that you are OK. Yes, I have a dentist that explains everything too. That is a bonus when they take the time to do that.

Jeanette, have a great weekend.

My Joey went over to sit for our grandson and hook up a much needed updated computer for his daughter. He'll be home Sunday night.

Today is no exercising since I'll be doing that in the garden all day long.

Happy Memorial Weekend!

Janie

Sorry I've been away from the forum for so long. I feel like a walking soap opera right now. Tues eve, while taking the dogs (who are abiut 60 lbs each) fir a walk, they went off ina run and I fell and broke my right hand and injured myhead and shoulder and knees. So my right hand (the one I write with) is in a cast and my face is a mass of black, blue, yellow and red. We're gettign the dogs trained now. I'm hunting and pecking to write this.

Thursday afternoon my BIL passed away and so we are awash in preparations for his funeral and memorial. He was also a vet. I think he is doing well right now, however. He went like a trooper -- so courageous -- he refused any drugs even during his last moments. But I felt that he was relieved to go and although I don't know other's beliefs, I do believe that he will make someone else in another place and time very happy.

My workouts at present will be walking until I can start running, but I think it might be 6 weeks before I can do upper body work again and it will be like starting over I fear.

Hope you all have a great weekend. When the medics came to take his body to the funeral home, my neighbor from across the street (who is also a vet) came and saluted him. It made me cry, it was so touching.

Have a super weekend and holiday!:7

KK,

I'm crying my eyes out here. Please rest your broken body and spirit. Once things calm down, do either nothing or something that you really enjoy just for yourself. You poor dear, I'm so sorry you are having to go through all of this. At least you are with family and not alone, so they can be there for you.

Don't worry about working out any time soon. Heal first, and then think about it.

God bless you Sweety and at least try to move as best as you can. Try hard not to get stiff. But only do it tenderly.

We love you,

Janie

Hi Janie!

I'm still hunting and pecking, so this will be short but i wanted to let you know how touching your words are to me. I've been kicking myself, as if my DH didn't have enough ti worry about, I went and got injured. Yes, I'll be taking walks and such and thanks for everything, the love comes through your posts. Thank you. It is very much returned

Good morning,
We had a nice camping trip (4 dayer), well as good as you could have considering the sprinkling and rain. I didn't go to my organized bike ride in Greenville as I woke up at 4 a.m. to rain. The camp trailer was nice and cozy. We brought our generator so had plenty of heat in the trailer, and coffee too with my electric coffee maker. It was DS's birthday so we celebrated that on Sunday with his requested cheesecake.

Today was Bootcamp. Will be doing a month of circuit workouts. Can see I need to work on my endurance again. Tonite is a bike ride with friends after work.

Karen, (((hugs))) to you. So sorry about your BIL's passing. Know you and your DH will miss him. Glad you could make it home to help out in the end and be of comfort to your DH. Oh my! and your fell down! Hope the arm heals quickly. Just take it easy for a while, but know the walks will feel good.

Hi to Janie and Rhea.

Rhea, did your DH go to the lake? Not the best weather weekend but you know how Memorial Day is. My DH still needs to work on our back porch. He's so close to finishing but he has trouble doing that for some reason. Hates closure I guess LOL!

Janie, hope you are getting a handle on those weeds. I need to mow lawns desperately but will get the bike ride in first, maybe mow later on tonite.

Jeanette

Good morning!

(((HUGS))) Karen....I believe you are right, BIL is at peace and will be ready to go for the next phase of his journey. Sorry to hear about your arm. Walking will be good for your exercise though. Hang in there.

No workouts for me. Been too busy with the darn rooms trying to get back to normal in the house. I think I've had plenty of "exercise" with bending, lifting, and scrubbing.

I did go to the lake for a little while and visit with my in-laws. It was raining, but nice and quiet. I should have stayed longer, would have had more rest!

Well, must get back to work. Err.
Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!

It was raining here all weekend long, too, but as soon as it was time for peoplke to go back to work, wow, sunny and bright -- reminds me of Vermont.

Jeanette, I love you descriptions of your weekend -- makes me feel as if I were there -- I could feel the coziness of the trailer. Sounds like a perfect weekend to me. I know about these finishing things -- sometimes it takes forever t complete.

Rhea, even when you;re off work you're busy -- wow. Bet you did get lots of exercise in.

Hi Janie! Were you able to weed over the weekend?

I'm still hunting and pecking here -- hand will be in the opartial cast for a while, I fear and the head is starting to heal, too, I think (knock on wood).

Thank you for you heartfelt condolances. It is tough -- we have been close and so it is tough for both myself and my DH, who was so slose to my BIL that soemtimes it felt to me like I was married to 2 men instead of one -- and I sure bossed them both around.

The ceremony for the cremation will be on Friday and the memorial will be on Sunday at our church and then to my house for food -- I'm callling on friends to hopefully get them to help me clean.

Here I am unable to do more than walk right now -- which I am doing -- and I'm lookjign at exercise videos,:+ Have either of you heard of or done Jillian Michaels 3 day shed -- these look like they might be good, short workouts for when I;m back in FL.

IF any of you care to look I did a blog -- it's short cause it takes me a while to type now -- but I did a blog that has a few picts of my BIL -- www.petticoatsandpistols.com -- I will miss him -- I already do.

Have a super day!:7

Morning,
Today was Imax2, yep, the whole thing, which is unusual for me. Enjoyed it though and modified any hi-impact. Think I need some new tennies to cushion better. These have probably seen better days.

Karen, don't know anything about the 3 Day Shed, but the Video Fitness forum probably has reviews. Enjoyed your blog. Hugs to you and your DH, know you are missing him. Hope your hand heals quickly.

Rhea, hope you don't have to work too hard. I was hoping to get the lawns mowed yesterday but darn rain. We rode bikes out on Hwy. 44 and got soaked. No sense on our parts for sure.

Hi Janie,

Jeanette

Jeanette, So gald your camping trip weekend went well. I love camping.

Rhea, glad you had a good time with your in-laws. It was time for you to have a real break.

KK, I loved your Blog! Well done. Do take care of yourself.

Joey finished the animal enclosure. It's 7 feet tall, about 20 feet wide and half as long as our house. The doggy door is yet to be desired, but they can now go outside whenever they want and enjoy their freedom. They'll get use to the door any time now.

Today is gardening for me, haven't been doing it because of rain issues. Today should be a good working day. It's such a huge garden.

Goode Evening!

Good day but didn;t even get in a walk today. Am starting on our taxes -- we almost always file late. but want to get them done before Oct. You shouldhave seen the stacks of receipts to wade through -- but at least there is some order to them now.

Georgie is the kitty who ate a poisonous plant -- I;ve now thrown it out -- and he is havign quite a time recovering -- but I'm hoping it will be a good recovery. I've been pumping nutritional stuff into him every hour and he just ate soemthing on his own which I think is good.

Jeanette, how I love IMAX2 -- when my hand finally heals it will be like starting over. I;ll check that site for the reviews. Thanks for that. That bike ride sounds as though it might have been a little tough,

Janie, so glad that you got the enclosure doen -- I wish we had more of a yard for our dogs. They were teased tongith on their walk by a female dog.

Hi Rhea!

Thanks for checking out the blog. Even though he had a tough form of cancer and we knew this day might come, it is still tough.

Have a super day!:7

Morning,
Workout was a premix from HSC today. Good one and not too long. I played 9 holes of golf yesterday after work.

Rhea, I thought of you on the 4th hole. I barely made it over in 2. Will have to schedule another lesson some time.

Karen, hope Georgie is all better now. When do you have to go back to Florida? Hope the hand is not too painful.

Janie, what kind of pets do you have? How big is your garden? Seems like it is a rewarding hobby/project.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Karen - how is Georgie doing? Darn kitties just love to eat bad things. Actually, dogs too.

Well, no workouts for me yet. Just get busy when I get home and am running around for hours until I'm so tired that I have to stop. But today should change. I am actually planning on doing some sort of workout this afternoon, just not sure what to pop in. I'll probably figure it out at the last minute.

Jeanette - wasn't it cold to golf yesterday? I'm such a wuss.....

Janie - is the garden done yet? I've yet to even think about starting mine.

Well, got to run. Have a great day everyone...

Good morning,

The animals we have are Mollygoo part chuhuahua and yorky. Then we rescued 2 cats. One is calico and the other is a black Norwegian Forest Cat. They all are smart with totally different personalities. We love them.

Our garden is huge. It is ongoing most of the year. No work in the Winter. Much work in the Spring, less work the rest of the time except for harvesting time. Seems everything is ready to pick all at once. Then we clean up to start the next years crops.

It sometimes is so much work for me. This year the weeds got in control. I'm getting rid of them with salt and vinegar in between the rows. I'm putting in by hand 6 inches of med. beauty bark. It's taking a toll on me this year. Can't find time to exercise. That bothers me. Although it is exercise in itself and I keep going for hours at a time. Then I rest a day or two afterwards. Next year I won't have to do that. All I need to do is keep the darn weeds in check. It was my fault for not keeping up with it in the first place.

It saves us a ton of money on our produce each year. Asparagus, lettuce, berries, all the expensive stuff at the stores. Some things we can't grow like the hot crops; peppers...but we do OK.

Have great exercises everyone, and take care of yourselves. I'll be exercising soon enough.

Good Evening!:)

Had a good walk this morning -- afraid that;s all I can do right now. Georgie is doing good now -- I was pumping nutrients into him every hour yesterday -- and today he;s the old Georgie.

Jeanette, I like HSC, too, all the premixes -- golf sounds great!

Rhea, am glad that it looks like you'll be able to see through the busy-ness soon. Georgie is doing good now -- back to the old Georgie.

Janie, I wish I had a garden like you, When I get back for good my yard will probably become a garden -- with the price of food, it seems a good thing to do. Really love your graphics.

Have a super day.:7

Good morning,
No workout for me this morning. Think I will do a Spinerval on the bike this afternoon. I just felt like getting a bit more rest this morning. It's a beautiful morning outside, finally!

Karen, glad Georgie is doing better. Pleased that you enjoyed your walk. Do you listen to music while walking? I enjoy that and have been able to walk on my break at work.

Janie, your garden sounds wonderful. When I retire, I'm hoping to do some gardening. Just have no time to devote to doing that at this point. Of course, I tend to fill it with other hobbies.

Rhea, no, not too cold to golf. I'm used to getting out in the not so good weather. If I had to wait for good weather around here, I'd be out of luck. My Dad always asks me, isn't it too cold to bike? That's what I always have to tell him too. LOL!

Have a great weekend everyone,

Jeanette
