How important is it to drink water during a strength training workou?

In the STS DVDs, I notice that you and the crew take the time to rehydrate with water.

It is important to drink water during a workout? If so, why?
 
Not Cathe, but yes, taking sips of water will keep your muscles nice and hydrated, which will help ensure adequate blood flow and oxygenation. Aim for about 8 oz. per 10-15 minutes of exercise for proper hydration (indoors, comfortable temperature and humidity). Your fluid needs increase during very hot or cold weather, or with higher-intensity exercise, but that amount should do for your average strenght training workout.
 
Thanks! Will drinking or not drinking impact my results, or just make it more comfortable? I don't find myself thirsty when working out.
