Can't seem to get all your posts at once to reply at the same time. Have to reply one at a time. Hmmm, I'm frustrated.
Today is the day I have a consultation with the specialist for gum grafting. Ugh, then back to the ocean with my Joey.

Kathy Sis, Great job on BB Chest and Core 1 and for Sunday's Plyo Legs #1. Oh O, do take care of the knee.

Take care,

Janie

Michelle, Great job on MM. No you are not pathetic about thinking of our beloved Ripken. I do the same thing about my little Molly. Sigh. My foot is doing so much better. No more problems. Yea! I'm here in Shelton to have an appt. with the specialist and see when I can get that darn thing done and out of my life. Today I leave for the ocean again. I can't wait. Yep, now I can start putting in more variety into my workouts. I can't wait!

Take care,

Janie

Cindy, I'm having problems posting as well, but a little different from you. Sigh. Sounds like a wonderful time painting with Lily. Photos please! Great job on Friday PiYo and being drenched. For Sat. errands and chores and Sunday doing part of KickMax. The Hay Bale Maze sounds like fun! And for last night doing PiYo Buns. Congratulations for keeping steadfast on the food and loosing pounds. Yea!

Take care,

Janie

9-30-14

Last night was BB (Arms) which is NOT an easy workout by any means. I went up in weight from last week. I was spent after this workout. Tonight will be PRS #2 or one of the KCM's kickboxing workouts. Not sure yet.

Michelle: I don't blame you for doing the yard work instead of going to the dog show. It wouldn't have been much fun going by yourself. I wish we lived closer to each other. I know its hard not having Ripken around. Makes the house seem that much more quiet doesn't it? I feel the same when I lost my 2 cats in one year. Despite the blues you still did a really good workout w/MM.

Cindy: How frustrating it is when you lose a post & have to re-write it. What painting techniques did you learn? The flower pictures must be very pretty too. I'm sure to be drenched myself when I get to do Drench. Let me know what you think of Strength Intervals. I liked that one.

Janie Sis: Hope all goes well w/the specialist & for getting in more variety w/your workouts. Happy to hear that your foot is all healed. Took quite a while. My left knee is feeling better. I drank some diluted cherry juice last night which seemed to help. This is what Cathe drinks for her joints. Such a nice picture of you & Joey. Sweet couple.

Take care,
Kathy

Intensity this morning--the whole workout. IMHO, I think this is one of Cathe's hardest cardios. I was so happy when it was time to stretch. I'm in a better mood today. I spoke with my friend at Quantico who is a lab breeder. I always feel better after talking with her. She was the owner/trainer of the labrador retriever, Madison (I think I have the dog's name correct) that was on the show Lost. Pretty cool. Sadly, I believe her sweet pup passed away a couple of years ago but she still has plenty of labs and is about to get a new female black lab.

Cindy: so you had an impromtu artistic session with Lily. Much fun. Those are the types of things that must make being a parent really fun and special. Her suggestion about painting a yellow base was very good. Seems she might have a natural intuition for painting. Very excited for you that the scale is going down.

Michelle

Last night was Strength Intervals and I really liked it, short but gets to the point and I think it would be a great morning workout for me. I have dreams of doing double up days 1-2 times a week, the secret it getting up! Tonight I'm doing X10 and then tomorrow morning I am getting up early (alarm is already set) to do P90X3 Pilates. Tomorrow night I'll be baking and cleaning (prep work for Lucas's 2nd birthday party on Saturday) so I won't have time to exercise :(

Janie - You both look great, what a cute couple! I hope the forum glitches get worked out so we can all be at 100%!

Michelle - Glad your mood is a bit better and way to go on Intensity, I have days too where I'm so happy for the stretch to hit.

Kathy - Great job on your weight increase, it's nice to see the improvements in strength.

Trying to eat less protein. This is my nights dinner. 5 gluten free grains (brown rice, millet, quinoa, steal cut oats, and buckwheat) mixed together. Then sauteed beets, garlic and yams. Roasted an eggplant and cut it up in bite size pieces and used some of it. Added some black beans. Then cut up a slice of purple onion and some cut up orange and added 1/2 avocado, some dried cranberries (sugarless), some sunflower seeds and a touch of rice vinegar. Mix all together. Mmmmmmmmmm. Simple and delicious. A little time consuming because of the cooking of the grains. A few of them need different timing before they are done. So worth it though because this is a perfect meal. Try it out, I dare ya. LOL
Rolly and I walked the beach intermittent walking fast and regular walking for almost 3 hours. It was a good day.

I have gum graft on the 7th of Oct. It will hurt. O dear.

Cindy, Great job on Strength Intervals. Don't worry about not being able to exercise, just count it as your day off.

Michelle, Great job on all of Intensity this morning. Wow! I also think this is one Cathe's hardest cardio workout.

Kathy Sis, Great job on last nights BB arms. Yea! Congrats on going up in weight. I heard cherry juice was good for the joints. Will have to try that.

Take care everyone,

Janie

I did X10 Step last night and it felt great though I discovered my heart rate monitor is not working properly. During warm up is said my heart rate was 213! and then it would drop to normal and then show 00, not sure if I need a new battery or if something was just off. I haven't seen that erratic behavior before :) I got up once my alarm went off at 4:55, it just seems like a wrong time to be up, and did PiYo Strength Intervals. It was a good start to the day. Tonight I'm cleaning the house and baking cupcakes, 1/2 a batch since no one has RSVP'd they're coming (other than my parents) and I'm eating clean this month so none for me! Tomorrow morning I plan to do a Yoga workout.

Janie - Great job on the 3 hour walk and that meal looks delicious! I hope the gum graft goes well and doesn't hurt too much, I'm a big baby about oral work so I'm feeling for you! The last crown I had they had to slice a small piece of my gum to get down to the damaged tooth and the pain wasn't bad (it was minimal compared to what you'll do) but I know my body reacted with some stress when they cut. It just wasn't expected.

Cindy

Rolly and I walked the beach today, but not for 3 hrs. LOL!

Cindy, Great job on X10 Step last night. And for doing PiYo Strength Intervals today.

Take care,

Janie

Yesterday was a rest day, plus I had to go into work early so it was a good day for a break. Today was Glutes and Legs--an oldie from the Body Blast series, but a goodie.

Janie: hope the dental procedure is not as bad as you are anticipating. And you are back at the beach for a few days. That's nice. Is there a reason why you are trying to eat less protein?

Cindy: wow, Lucas is two already. I bet he is really starting to roll around the house. Keeping up with a two-year old is a whole other type of exercise. I think I'll stick to my Cathe workouts. 4:55 am is early to get up and exercise. How many of the X10s did you do?

Hi to Kathy, Laura, and sister.
Michelle

Michelle, Good for you taking your rest day. Great for doing today's Glutes and Legs. My cholesterol levels had a red flag on my chart. I'm thinking the Palio Diet which consists of a lot of meat could have been the reason. Cutting way down on meat and adding gluten free grains (from the research I've done) seem to be a better diet. At least I'm trying it out. Dang, you do something thinking it's healthy and it seems it wasn't' after all. What a waste of time and in return unhealthy. Truly upset and I fell for it hook line and sinker. Who in the heck do you trust to eat for a healthy body? It's so wrong! I'm thinking a balance meal, but what is that these days? Sheesh. Can you tell I'm upset? LOL!

Take care and be healthy,

Janie

Last night was a success in getting cupcakes baked and the house cleaned. We went from having no one (other than my parents) coming to the party, to my niece and 3 kids we invited so that's exciting. I have a bubble machine for the kids and they will paint pie pumpkins before we do pizza and cupcakes. Short and simple at this age :) I got up this morning and did a short 20 min Yoga workout and tonight I have some errands and will decorate cupcakes. Busy work but tomorrow will be fun!

Janie - Great job getting a beach walk in :)

Michelle - I can't believe he's two already, it goes by so fast. He is my little cling-on right now so he's on my hip as much as he can be. Gives the arms a workout! Great job on glutes & legs!

Cindy

Tabatacize (tabatas 1-3) and STS ab circuits pilates today. Now we are watching the Nationals baseball game. First game in the playoff series.

Janie: So--I am wondering: you have changed your exercise regime of late and I know that you have been nursing various injuries, but I'm wondering if the change in the intensity of your workouts has affected your cholesterol level. I'm an "all good things in moderation" eater. We do try to eat alot of fruit and green veggies and we've tried to increase the amount of fish that we eat. It's hard and our bodies are always changing; just hang in there. You will figure it out.

Cindy: what a nice birthday gathering you are ending up with for Lucas. Happy birthday to your sweet little boy. And good job on getting a yoga practice in. Moms are so busy taking care of everyone else, it's important to take care of yourself too--you deserve it!

Hi to the rest of our gang. Hope everyone has an enjoyable Friday evening.
Michelle

Rolly and I walked the beach for an hour. Came home and did some heavy duty gardening. Planted garlic, changed pots on the 3 blueberry bushes and 2 fig trees. They were in plastic containers and don't think they would make it through the cold weather without spiting. So I planted them in the bigger wood barrels. Big Job, and about 3.5 hours worth of lifting carrying 35-45 pounds of soil. Sweaty day, but good.

Michelle, Great job on Tabatacize 1-3 and STS aab circuits pilates today. Enjoy the baseball game. Yes, I should live by that rule "moderation". I will now, thank you, I think I've learned my lesson.

Rolly and I went for a 30 min. walk on the beach. Then did some soap making.

Homemade soap not ready to cut into bath size bars.

Homemade soap cut and ready to cure for 6 weeks.

My neighbor and I trade her fresh eggs for my homemade soap. Now, I need to make some for me, but a different recipe. LOL

Take care,

Janie

So, my body was feeling worn out yesterday so I took a break day and did STS Total Body today. I felt much better today so I'm thinking it was good to take another rest day. I'm now officially done with the September rotation and will be moving on to Cathe's October rotation. Did a little shopping yesterday morning including going to the Quilt Expo in the 'burg. I'm not a quilter but my mother is and I was able to get her some nice things for Christmas. Came home and watched the second half of the VA Tech football game and then did a little yard work. Great fall weather here this weekend and it was good to get outside and move around a little. Stayed up until after midnight watching the Washington Nationals drop the second game in the National League Division Series. If they don't rebound and win the next game, it will be the end of baseball in our nation's capital for this year. Their pitching is great, their defense is sharp, but the bats need to wake up.

Janie: seems like you have not made soap in a while. I still have a few bars that I've been hoarding. I've been thinking I need to break out a bar. Carting around soil can be back straining work. Hope you are feeling good DOMs today and not bad ones. I have some container gardens on my back deck that have gone to weed that I need to clean out and put in new dirt mulch. Need some new plants too just not sure what. Any suggestions?

Hope everyone is doing well. Hi to Kathy, Cindy, Laura, and sister.
Michelle

Happy Monday! 4DS Kickbox, cardio only premix, this morning. The legs just weren't going to do legs today after STS total body yesterday. I always forget how much fun the 4DS kickbox cardio routine is.

Folks must be busy--hope everyone is healthy and getting their licks in.
Michelle

Whirlwind of a weekend but beautiful weather and lots of fun! Friday I spent the evening decorating cupcakes and preparing food (veggies and fruit cut for snacks). Saturday we had 7 kids total at the party and did pumpkin painting, had a bubble machine (huge hit for all ages), treats and play time. It was a great party. After Lucas's nap we headed to the corn maze and spent at least an hour 15 min walking around looking for clues. I was beat once we got home! Here's my favorite picture of my little 2 year old this weekend.

Lucas.jpg

And since pictures seem to easy to post now here's a family picture right before we went through the maze. It' wasn't the best since I'm not smiling but I don't have access to the better one right now.

Family.jpg

Sunday was cookie baking (for Lucas to have at day care today), cleaning and laundry. Tonight will be back to PiYo Drench :)

Janie - What a busy day with the long walk and yard work, nice to get it done and get some exercise in! I've started making lotions with essential oils in them and I really like it. Right now I'm using one to try to help diminish my varicose veins, I'm scared I'll end up with terrible ones like my grandmother had.

Michelle - Good job listening to your body! I've never gotten into baseball but my husband would love if I had :) I enjoy live much more than on TV.

Cindy

When I use "Upload a File" It won't upload a photo. I have to use FB or Picturetrail. Is there something I need to pick to get a photo up for posting? I've done it before, but now I can't.
All weekend been walking the beach with Rolly and doing yoga. I'm loving yoga.

Cindy, I love your painting! It's full of life and color. Sounds like all your work you did, you had a fun and successful party. Wished I could have been there. I love the photos of your family. I love making my own lotions as well. I hate the fact that stores sell products full of toxins. I didn't know lotions could help with varicose veins. Continue to learn and know about what you can so you don't have to go through what your grandmother did. Can you strip veins? Not much help I'm afraid.

Michelle, Great job on a break day. And for doing STS Total Body. Congrats for officially done with Sept. rotation. Christmas shoping already. Well, I guess it has to be. LOL Hope you had fun shopping for your mom. Sounds like you got her lovely gifts. Hope your baseball team can win and continue to impress. Great job on doing 4DS Kickbox, cardio only prem. this morning. I love this workout too. If you still have soap, I've made, then you are in for a treat. The longer it sets out, the more suds there are. Enjoy! I felt good DOM's and feel real good lately. Until tomorrow for the darn gum graft. sigh Growing the things you love is what you should plant in those boxes. Have fun!

Take care everyone,

Janie
