Burning less calories as progressing with workouts

I started the 90 day xtrain program and I am on week 5, I'm noticing especially with the cardio leg blast workout out that the more I progress and the better my form, stamina and execution becomes the less calories I burn. why is this?
 
a few things 1 that your body has adapted and become more efficient at the workout, heart more condition so its not working as hard 2 you are loosing weight so your body burns less calories than when heavier

The longer you workout the harder its is to get those big calorie burns. I use to burn around 600 calories when I first stated the hour spin class. I now only get in around 480. I've muscular fit and have a lower resting heart rate.
