40s - week of 9/25/11

Did anyone check out the Workout Manager and the MET values and calories burn for the new series? OMG, did I read that right? AfterBurn has a MET value of 8.5 and 819 calories. Maybe that is with the bonus burn premix. Either way, OMG! Talk about Cathe my butt. Ouch!

Hi girls! Did the TM today, almost 4 miles, DD came home from school, cut me a little short! Murphy, I'm sorry about all the mold. It is so frustrating. Just gives you the willies! Lisa, at least you have a computer to kill time with? Roxie, hope that dizziness gets better. That affects everything. Ronne, sounds like a good premix, I will have to give it a try someday. That clip makes me shake in fear! Hope I can do it! Jody, I picture you jumping around in your shorts! Thanks for the birthday wishes! I get to go and get my roots done today! Very excited! Better get moving, Mary

wowsers to new workouts. I hope I can do them.

Roxie, how did 10 x 3 go? With any new workout, I just have to be willing to take a hit in the intensity dept while I am learning.

I did a 10 min Hiit ala Bodyrock yesterday morn and got in a walk jog yesterday eve (4 miles 45 min). I don't plan on working out today cuz I am busy from ding to dong.

OK, off to the races

ps, Mary doesn't it feel great to get a fresh up on color? I get foiled, but I am now overall trying to tone down the blond and get less and less, but my natural color is pretty dingy so it is hard. I started using Wen with some very helpful results.

Hi all

Another busy day here so relatively short workout. Did Intensity Hiit Lo/Bootcamp premix and stuck my push-ups in the middle of it (skipping the ones at the end!). The sun is shining and it's absolutely glorious. This would of course be the week that work is suddenly busy!!

Jody - Have you seen the Slide & Glide clip? I'm not sure whether I'm going to be able to do those moves!

Mary - hope you're looking lovely now! I love going to the hairdressers - read the mags, drink coffee, bliss!

Lisa - are you managing to entertain yourself at work?

Roxie - so how did 10 10 10 go? I like that one.

Murphy - :(:(:(:(:(:( - at least you're getting the workouts in. You should be proud of yourself!!

Going to hang some washing out - make the most of the sunshine! Bye for now.

So, tried to do some lunges and squats in the bedroom (all that B&G talk yesterday) and I remember how much I hate lunges. I did do the floor work, not so bad.

Mary - this must be hairdresser week. I was just there Monday night. It is true, nothing like the hairdresser and a new pair of shoes (did that on Sunday).

Jody - I too was looking at the Slide N Glide clip and wondering how long before I can do all of that. Maybe I will have it down by the time the next series comes out. LOL.

Ronne - I have been waiting for DH to put a clothes line outside so I can hang some clothes. I have been waiting for about a year...

Hi to everyone.

Murphy

Hi's everyone! Today I did BM2 timesaver premix---it's 43 min--I've never done it before (it's the one I started once thinking it was easy, it is only 43 min, and quit) so I started it thinking again it would be easy, uh, it isn't. It's the 3 step segments all put together 4 times and the power circuit moves minus the weights. It's a good one, just hopefully I remember next time that it isn't EASY!

Jody, you have some pretty impressive workouts, and with 2 risers! Are you sure you are in your 40s? :)

Roxie, any word on the dizzies?

Mary, I'm reading Nora Roberts Bed of Roses at work on the computer. Somehow reading on the computer at work isn't as fun as curled up with a bood. The book is also waaaaaay boring. I'm not going to read the last 2 books in the series (maybe someday if I'm desperate).

Ronne, irritating how work can't conform to your schedule and the weather!

Murphy, I bought a couple pair of hiking shorts and a camel backpack, they should come today, it's weird they will give me a boost too (I hope the shorts fit! I saw them at Dick's but they only had one size and it was a bit too small so I found these next size up ---a 12! ugh, I hate the sizing on the athlete stuff I've been shopping for, but size is only a number, right?)

Later....

re: work, seems things here are in a holding pattern as we are in a change freeze since it's quarter end. So, I again asked if there was anything I could do, and now I have some crap job....nice....not....oh well, I'm a bit tired of reading :)

Hi girls! Haven't done a work out yet, but I will! Lisa, those circuit moves are hard! Especially at the end! That is always when I think "I'm done!". I have nit started those books, whenever I have time it seems the kids always have the iPad. Are they like Harlequin romances? I don't care for those too much. Murphy, I love getting my roots done! Now, I don't have to look at the halo of gray framing my face! Ronne, we are having perfect weather here now too. I hear the rain and cold are coming soon tho. Jody, I have never tried the wen products, hear they are great. I have a mass of curls and unfortunately my DD inhereted it also. The boys of course got poker straight hair! Those new clips of the dvd's are scaring me! I hope that I will be able to do most of it. Well, it is something to work up to? Well, I better get a move on! Mary

Good Afternoon,

This morning DD and I went for a walk and it was real dark and very humid. Tonite is CTX KBXing and abs. I didn't workout last night TOM hit and with the dizziness just didn't feel good. They do not have any answers for me so they are sending me to a specialist on Oct. 19th.

Jody-I didn't try that one.

Mary-its always nice to have a little me time.

Lisa-those workouts have me very nervous. Nora Roberts books are sometimes take it or leave it with me.

Murphy-not a big fan of lunges DD did some yesterday and now her knee hurts.

Isn't it funny, the new low impact series looks harder than bootcamps, etc. I guess we will see. I'm gonna let you guys go first. : D

I did some pushups yesterday for grins, but no workout. Between now and Sat I should try to hit all my body parts in some form or another. Maybe get a run in today while dd at TKD.

Too many days in a row w/ only 5 or 6 hours of sleep, and dog woke me early w/ retching. Amazing. They should make an alarm clock sound out of that-- I perceive vomiting on carpet may be imminent and I leap out of bed like Superman or something.

Well, on that note...have a great day all- I'll check in later

Morning! Jody, you get up early! You made me laugh about the dog! Stuff like that makes you get up like the house is on fire! Roxie, I hope the specialist can help you. When my DH gets his episodes he takes Valium. Works like a charm and he is really pleasant to be around! Lisa, how is work today? It's a shame we can't bring our couch and favorite book to work. Ronne, I spoke to soon, raining here and cold. Hope you still have the sun. Murphy, I have had pictures waiting to hang for over a year and a half. They must be friends! Did 4 miles on the TM, waiting for GF to arrive. She has a divorce hearing today, just going for moral support. Have a good day, Mary

grr lost my post! I did STS Meso 1 disc 11, Back/bi. Ready for this meso to be over! Tomorrow I'm dragging DH out for a hike to RMNP, hope to see some fall colors (only get yellow here). 6.5 miles, 2000 ft elevation gain.

Mary, they are a bit like harlequin. No plot, just romance, and not steamy sex scenes either. If there is no plot, at least have some down and dirty stuff!

Jody, animals! I've had my workouts interrrupted the last 2 times to clean up cat pee. She found another spot to go that isn't easy for a blind cat to get to either! Then she wants outside AFTER she's pee'd, what's the point! Since she likes hanging out with us so much we have decided to delay the 'decision'. Just bought more cat glucosamine/condriotin, she better use it up before that 'time'.

Roxie, don't beat yourself up too much and take it easy!

Murphy, having fun with the improvised workouts? be creative!

Ronne, does work have you tied up?

I think I wrote more the first time around but hopefully got in all the highlights.

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is CTX Leaner Legs chaning up the rotation a little but I am still doing the workouts really liked the KBX one. DD and I didn't walk this morning she had to be to work early. The weather here is gorgeous it was almost 90 yesterday and suppose to be in the 80's today. I asked DH to buy me a cheap wt bench so I can still workout without laying down. The wind has come up and it is cooling down.

Lisa-sorry to hear the cat is still making messes. I want to keep up with my workouts I usually stop when this stuff hits and wait for it to pass but I can't let it derail my progress.

Mary-I asked my dr. to give me a prescription for meclizine tired of taking the chewables and I want my insurance to pay for them. Valium would be great.

Jody-there still looks like alot of impact on the knees in the new series doesn't look low impact to me but I am willing to give it a try.

Hi all. I got some sleep last night. It felt great. Sorry Jody, I don't mean to rub it in but I have had way too many 5 or 6 hour nights - and those were the good nights. Anyway, I tried to incorporate some tri-cep work. I quit early - I was starting to feel it. Funny, I can work through some of the burn with legs and most of the burn with the bi-ceps, but some other stuff, forget it.

Murphy

Murphy, I can't take the burn in the legs, everywhere else I can deal with it. I've had lots of DOMs in the legs from STS Meso1, I'm dreading the next workout of legs (probably Sunday)---I'm just now recovered from last Sunday's legs!

Good Evening,

Tonite I did Leaner Legs and I feel it was to repetitive and I skipped the ab part. DH screwed up our cable and internet so I guess I will read tonite.

We are allowed to quit early? why didn't anyone tell me that? :: angry face::
ha, I feel like I should go to confession or something if I quit early.

I agree, some of the moves in new workout look hard on joints, but in a twisty way rather than impact. Yay for variety, I will take what works and leave the rest.

Roxie, I was looking at wts on craigslist the other day, saw many wt benches. Is craigslist big by you?

re Harlequins...I used to read them all the time as a teen (and watch soaps, too). My true love was historical romance and also trashy books by J. Suzanne and Harold Robbins. Funny how tastes change, tho I still like historical novels. and steamy romance. I find it so much harder to find a book I enjoy these days as I am much more discerning.

Mary, hugs to friend in divorce hearing. Not fun. not fun not fun. Not fun.

I love BM2 cardio premixes along w/ LIC cardio premixes and also BC. That series of w/o was my go to.

No workout today, hopefully will report back w/ something kick ass tomorrow. Nite

Hi everyone

Well, I switched on the computer yesterday and I waited, and waited, and waited ... Had to call someone out in the end as there was nothing I could do. He's taken it away and I should hear today what needs to be done. Not a happy bunny. Got DH's laptop so managed to get some work done on that yesterday. Did some yoga to try and calm me down, it helped a bit. Doing MM with my push-ups today.
Loving the look of the clips - can't wait to get them now, it'll be great to do something different.

At least the sun is still shining - it really is lovely, it hit 81 here yesterday.

Anyway, apologies for lack of personals. Hope everyone has a good weekend and I'll be happier and chattier on Monday ;)!

Hi girls! Did PS legs today, I liked it. Like Ronne said, a little dated, but I enjoyed it. Had to mow the grass again last night. Neighbors on both sides did theirs, they gave me no choice! Ronne, sorry about the computer troubles. That always annoys me! Roxie, you guys are warm! We are supposed to be on the 40's tomorrow?? Murphy, yeah for sleep! Jody, don't kick yourself too much! Lisa, how is work today? Well, better get to the shower! Mary
