1RM clarification for STS?

Hi -
In the 1rm test. I just did a sample for shoulder press (below) and entered 15lbs and 20 reps.

My card now says:

Alternating Seated Overhead Shoulder Press (dumbbell) = targit weight is 19lbs.

Does that mean 19 lbs total, or 19lbs per arm?

If it's total weight, will the Targit weight always be a total, or does it ever breakdown per arm?

Thanks

It all depends on what you entered when you tested. We prefer that you only enter the weight for one dumbbell when doing a 1RM test. This way you will know the weight of each dumbbell to use for the exercise.

I would suggest retesting this exercise anyway. You need to find a weight where you have failure close to 10 reps. Twenty reps is just too many reps for the 1RM calculator to be accurate.

Ohh. Ok, so if a weight I put in is for 1 dumbell then the weight I get back is one dumbell. I get it. And I will go heavier when I do the test for actual failure closer to 10.
Thanks so much!
