Rave: Kangoo Jumps!

Wow! It hasn't been even 2 weeks and I know this was a great idea, if you live in an area that rents these or if you're looking for something new to do ya gotta try these. When I first put them on I was thinking, oh what did I do but, determined to see if they were for me, I dove right into my one & only Kangoo Video - Kangoo Kick.

Here we go....;).... they are awkward to start with, not unlike a motorcycle or ski boot, incidentally the sizing is identical to a men's alpinestars motorcycle boot, European size 41 = Kangoo size medium. They are not heavy, it's just the spring part at the bottom that creates that illusion. Many people here are way stronger than me & have better knees, doubt they would even notice the weight really.

What you would notice is the tempo or bounce, the video does an excellent job of introducing steps and the unique kind of bouncing you get. It's not like a rebounder even though all the benefits of rebounding are there and then some. You have to push 'em to get that bounce, and that's where the real magic happens, the more you do that double bounce and get that rebound out of the springs the more you feel the cardio vascular effects, it is so cool. I imagine runners feel this way when running at a pretty good clip, yet with these you actually don't have to run (not that you're not going to want to, you will) That alone is worth the ticket price (mine were 229.00 less 5% coupon code)

Can you do this if you have questionable knees and little in the way of runner-like endurance. Yes you can. Remember I worked my way up from Cathe's beginner step and was stepping regularly for a year before this, wasn't jogging or running though. (impact challenged..:( ) These reduce the impact so much you don't get that impact soreness, I would follow a video to get the basics though so as not to torque anything, they have other videos besides the one I got. You will feel it working your calfs-thighs-hamstrings-glutes and especially core. The other nice thing is it practically forces you to stand up straight.
I dare say if I keep this up it will correct my posture for good!

I know some people out there may have tried these but I only really started to get idea of how great these work after a week of practice and getting the hang of it, it's just starting to get really good and I haven't even gone for a jog yet, that will be icing on the proverbial Kangoo Cake!

Happy Easter.....:D

Great stuff, Linda! Excellent post :D
With your permission, may I post it in my blog on http://kangoos.info?
I would really appreciate it!

Keep bouncing :)

Thanks for asking, to preserve the context though, I would prefer if you did not. I may actually want to use this review for my own purposes. You could however link to this site/page if you like, I don't see anything wrong with that. You may want to read the description/faqs on this, Cathe's site under Open Discussion about postings that are specifically promoting non-Cathe products.

I'm actually kinda surprised no one said anything about it. My review stands as it is my own personal experience with the shoes. :)

Gotcha, no problem :)
Thanks for the link, by the way - I was so excited about coming across the initial post that I'd only registered so that I could reply, and hadn't read the rules - bad me

Next month I'm going to Benidorm in Spain for the annual Kangoo Jumps Convention - I can hardly wait! I'll post pics and videos of the top trainers on my blog when I get back :D
