    Here's Mia Elizabeth

It's amazing how little time you have to accomplish anything when there's a new baby in the family! Mia was born 3/24/08 at 3:44 PM EST. She was 8 lbs, 1 oz and 21 inches long. She has tons of dark brown hair (over 1" long!) and amazing muscle tone! This little girl will be doing Cathe...

    Extra long contractions

Whew! After 57 hours of labor (from the first REAL contraction to having my baby in my arms) and 4.5 hours of active pushing, my beautiful Mia has arrived!!!! We just got home from the hospital today so this exhausted mommy is going to take a nap. Becky

    Extra long contractions

Hey girls! I've been having contractions off and on since about 7:00 yesterday morning. Most of them are about a minute long but I've now experienced a couple that lasted a little over 5 minutes. I'm not talking about 5 minutes of discomfort but 5 minutes of genuine low back pain, low...

    Bella Band

Here's the last discussion about them: http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=5&topic_id=25573&mesg_id=25573&listing_type=search I love mine and still use them. I'm due on two weeks and hope to use them for support afterwards too.

Does anyone know about CSCS certification?

Here's a link to the cost breakdown of the test in pencil/paper format versus computer-based. http://www.nsca-cc.org/cscs/cost.html If you are an NSCA member (which costs $120/year), the test is $120 cheaper than if you aren't. If you plan to buy the study materials, the membership is a good...

Does anyone know about CSCS certification?

You don't need a a degree in a medical field. You MUST have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university but it doesn't have to be exercise or medicine related. I called the NSCA about that particular thing last year. The certification is geared toward people who want to train athletes...

    NASM vs. ACE vs AAFA

I have the ACE-PT, ACE-LWMC and NASM-CPT certs. Overall, I feel the NASM cert is a more well rounded (and slightly more difficult) one but their website doesn't really provide the trainer support that the ACE website does. If you plan to work in the field, you may want to ask around at some...

    It's a girl!

Super-Congratulations!!!! :7 Your husband will get used to the idea then he'll look forward to threatening her future dates with bodily harm if they make one wrong move! :-) Good luck with the anatomy u/s. That's so nerve-wracking but in the end I'm sure everything will be fine. Becky

    Dilation and effacement

Thanks everyone! I know each pregnancy is unique and what's true for one person won't necessarily be the case for another. I just hate not knowing what's going to happen and when. Grrrr. :-)

    Dilation and effacement

No, you certainly can't beat that! One of my favorite scenes from The Simpsons has this scene: Homer: What's taking so long? Bart was born in like 5 minutes. Marge: Actually it took 53 hours. Homer: Really, wow the time just flew by didn't it? If my SO said anything like that...I'd...

Mia Elizabeth. We just settled on the name a few weeks ago but now it's like that's ALWAYS been her name!

    Dilation and effacement

How on earth did you manage 4 cm for a couple weeks? I'm already waddling around like I have a small elephant jammed up my hoohah! :7 And you're right... I can't wait to see her!!!! Congratulations on your surprise baby!

    Dilation and effacement

Hi girls! I went to the OB yesterday and found out that I'm 1 cm dilated and 20-30% effaced. Also, the baby has turned head down and my Braxton Hicks contractions are fairly frequent now (though not regular). Would anyone be willing to tell me how long it took you to go from a point similar...

    infant carriers

I have a couple Hotslings. I've only been able to try them out with a teddy bear and a dumbbell to test the weight since the baby isn't here yet but they're really comfortable and cute. Also, they work at all ages and weights (up to 35 pounds, I think). Here's the website...

    Bella Bands

I may be in the minority here, but I love my Bella Bands! I have a black one and a white one to match most of my clothes. They came in really handy early on when my maternity pants didn't quite stay up but my non-maternity pants didn't fit. I don't need them any more to keep my pants up, but...
