How to Select The Right Weight?

If you had to select a weight that you could only do for a certain amount of reps would you know what weight to use for every exercise? Most people who workout probably don’t know the answer to the preceding question except for a few exercises. This is why many people never change their routines or the weights and reps they perform in their workout programs.

With STS and our new Free Workout Manager software we  make determining the correct weight to use for any amount of reps quick and easy. All you have to do is take a very simple 1RM (one rep max) test for every exercise. Once this is done our calculator will tell you the correct weight for any amount reps you want to do. For example, let’s say you performed a 1RM test for the bench press and the calculator determined that your 1RM for this exercise is 100 lbs. You now want to know what weight to use in your workout routine for some various amounts of reps (Our calculator does the math automatically for you and shows you the results ).

STS is all about helping you find the optimum weight for every exercise so you can maximize your results and time.

  • i’m starting sts strength, my question is..when cathe says each week i should go up 5% from the week before,, how do i know if i’m lifting heavy enough? If i lift 15lbs for dumbbell curls in the first meso 1, do i go up to ten and 1/2 lbs? Or do i go up to 20lbs. I don’t think you can go up 1/2lb. Confused and need help. Thanks

  • Weighted gloves in addition to the weights (dumbells and barbells) is a good way to lift amounts between the average dumbell or barbell weights. Good luck!!!

  • Do I lift weights to determine my 1 rep max and then go straight into a workout? Seems like a lot of lifting for one day.
