Zone diet at home delivery?

Has anyone tried the Zone Diet at Home delivery service? I'm very tempted to sign up because I hate cooking and therefore tend to eat lots of takeout. I heard the food is actually good but it's very expensive.

Any opinions?

Thanks

Have you thought about nutra system? It is alot cheaper although the zone food does look good. I eat alot of lean cuisine and healthy choice for lunch and they have alot of good ones. Just a thought.

Hey, I am like you, wishing I could sign up for one of those "at home" programs. Truth is though, most of those plans you could accomplish without much cooking and/or just eating healthy TV dinners. In my head I sometimes think that if it was delivered to my door that I would stick to my diet better, but it is just too expensive for me to find out. I just can't get past feeling like it is highway robbery for what it is. After all, how good can it be if you have to heat it up???

The hardest part for me in weight loss is just changing my tastes. You gotta stop wanting higher fat foods. Even when I eat TV dinners I always feel deprived, simply because it is not what I would choose to eat and definitly not as much as I would choose to eat. I know that won't change even if stuff is delivered to my door. It is all in the mind, that is where the change has to happen!

Good Luck if you do try it. And do let us know how it tastes!:)

I know I checked out the link too. I couldn't believe the price and you know the potions are small! Of course they are the right portions. The reason I eat so many l.cuisine and healthy choice's for lunch is that it controls my portions. I like to eat!!!

Well, I have heard the Nutra system stuff tastes horrible and the general recommendation is to try to win some of the stuff on ebay so that you can try before you buy.

And I really think the outrageousness or lack thereof of the price depends on your perspective. If the original poster is actually eating that much takeout, she is probably already spending quite a lot on a daily basis. Of course, that may depend on where you live.

I'm curious, is the $24/day price only dinner or is that for three meals?

I didn't think of it that way. You are right Marie. If you eat out 3 times a day it probably comes out about the same! I was just thinking that if I did something like that it would be way to expensive for me since I also have to grocery shop for my son and husband. Good point! I have never tried the nutra system stuff. I suggested it because I always see the coomercial.

I actually contacted them when I was getting my kitchen renovated. Was concerned I wouldn't eat clean if I didn't have an operational kitchen. However, the cheapest option they have is with all frozen meals. Calories per day is 1400 divided into 6 meals. Very little organic is offered; however they will try to fit in some organic for you.

After debating on this, I opted to cook at home. I used my grill and my oven for my cooking. I used lots of paper products and used my bathroom sink to wash my dishes.

Good luck. Let us know if you decide to use them. I would be curious to hear about the quality of their meals.
