Yoga Tapes?

Any suggestions for yoga tapes? I've never done Yoga before. What would be good? I've been doing primarily Cathe tapes... two complete body weight workouts a week and four cardio for about 7-8 months.

Thanks!
Zoelda

I happen to love Crunch's Joy of Yoga. I do yoga like twice a week, and this is the tape I always seem to reach for.

I know that they came out with a more current yoga tape but have yet to try that one yet.

I like anything by Rodney Yee. A.M. and P.M. Yoga tapes are good places to start. Then move on to Yoga for Athletes when you're comfortable with those.

Also there's a guy on TV that I love and I've told several folks about. His name is Steve Ross and he comes on the "Oxygen" channel at 5:00 a.m. in my time zone. The name of the show is "Inhale." It's usually a tough workout. I've taped myself several of these, because although I'm awake at that time, I'm busy getting my 9-year-old ready to leave for the bus stop at 6:40 a.m.

So that's what that Inhale show is. I may just have to tape that also.
I also like Wia Lana yoga tapes. But you pretty much have to go to her website to find them.
Thanks for the recommendation of Rodney Yee yoga for althetics tape. I've been wondering about that one.
I'm finding out I really like yoga and pilates. I've been really putting them into my rotation a lot lately and have been seing some goos results in my abs, esp my lower abs.

Want a good Pilates Tape?

I like "Living Arts" with Ana Caban. They have a beginner and an intermediate matwork videos, a video using bands, and a video using the magic circle (aka body ring). Those are the best I've found for home Pilates workouts. Living Arts has a website, or if there is a Discovery Channel Store in the nearest mall, they usually have them.

i have bryan kest... he wont be the first tape you should do if you are new...but keep his name in mind if you decide you like yoga and want to try a pretty active style.

Try good ole' Kathy Smith's New Yoga and later, Yoga Challenge. I think yoga is a beautiful and integral part of my fitness.

Hi,
I like Breakthrough Pilates Core Conditioning. It has two instructors that arent annoying. The workout flows smoothly without any hokey stuff. No weird camera angles or billowing curtains!
Yoga tapes...Bryan Kests original 3 tape series...vol 1 and vol 2 can really get rid of the knots in my back and help me when I have tight hamstrings...it is the tape I reach for when I am in pain. 15 minutes into it and I am in heaven!
