Woooo Hoooooo! I get to pick up my new treadmill today at Sears!! After doing a search here and finding for some ProForm was a good choice and would fit into my price range, I’m going for it! I’m getting the ProForm XP550e on sale for $599. Since I don’t have a dedicated workout room in our house (yet), I had to “sweeten” my DH up to the idea of putting the treadmill in the family room by saying that I would put together a treadmill program for him to use while he watches the news, etc…hee hee...
The reason I’m so excited is that I can’t wait to run again! While training for my 4th marathon last July, I was sidelined with a hip injury and was told by the orthopedic MD no running at all indefinitely. I had a painful bursitis in my hip joint. Being totally bummed out and experiencing runner’s withdrawal, I had to seek out something rigorous for exercise and that’s when I found Cathe. I loved the Cathe workouts and actually this was a good find since I wasn’t working out my upper body much before. I had to take it easy though with the stepping, because my hip was taking forever to heal. Since the MD said cycling was a good replacement exercise, my sweet DH bought me a fabulous Specialized road bike for an early Christmas present, but I can only ride it on the weekends. Don’t get me wrong, I love my bike, but I really miss a good run. Anytime I brought up the subject of maybe just running “a mile or two” my husband freaked out. SOooo, after 8 months of inconsistent workouts, self-pity, sporatic eating, and weight gain, I’ve finally come around and have gotten myself back on track with MUCH thanks to all of you supportive motivating folks here! I’ve taken the time to plan and record on paper my workout week along with my meals. I’ve taken the photos and body measurements and I’m on a roll baby! Anyhoo, my hip is doing much better but the only missing link for me is the running, so I would like to incorporate a little bit into my program. I’ve been able to persuade my husband that I promise to keep up with the Cathe and Pilates, and only run once or twice a week on the new treadmill (oooh so giddy!! :7 ). I’ll take it easy at first and then maybe purchase some cardio coach to use for a day or two of cardio per week.
Whew! After this long post, I guess you can say I’ve come out of the lurking closet!!
