Yet another Slim Series Question

DEEDEE

Cathlete
I was wondering what you heavy lifters thought of the Slim Series? I'm interested in trying them out, but I really do get bored with light weight, high rep workouts. If the reps are really high I usually have to lift light so that my shoulders can handle the weight, but in the process my biceps, triceps, back, and pecs get no kind of workout. I was wondering if this was one of those types of workouts? Or is the workout structured so that you can change weights to get a good high rep workouts for each part of the body?

When I was doing a rotation of the Slim Series, I felt like the high rep/low weight approach worked really well for my lower body, but I started missing heavy weight workout for my upper body. After about 5 workouts, I NEEDED to do a PUB workout.

I felt the same way as Kathyn did. It's a great set and it did good things for my knees but I missed the upper body training I get with Cathe.

Edited to add: I didn't care much for the ab work in the Slim Series (I definitely prefer Cathe's ab workouts) but really enjoyed it otherwise.

Thanks guys, I think I will pass on the Slim Series. If I want high rep work, I'll go with Power Hour.:)

Or ME DeeDee or the Upper Body section of BodyMax or CTX Upper Body those will have give higher reps lower weight work. Ala Cathe }( in other words, tuff as usual.

I know you said you would pass on them, but I just wanted to add that yes, you can easily change weights for each exercise, depending on whether you want to pyramid up or down for a specific muscle group.

I love Power Hour and ME, but these were a really nice change of pace. I love Cathe workouts, but these have been a welcome addition to my rotation schedule.

All the best!

I ordered the Slim Series and ended up sending it back. I did not really care too much for the light reps, especially since the cardio was also very light. I felt like I was wasting my time using these videos.

When I work out I want to feel like I am working out and really pushing myself!!! These just didn't do it for me.

Take care
Cheryl:)
