XxXxX kettlebells tuesday XxXxX

Good morning!

Deanie - DH and I watched that video you posted of the girl doing 24kg snatches...AMAZING! I'm re-reading most of SS, but I don't think you necessarily go to failure...you're trying to lift heavy and hard with excellent form (Rip does emphasize form) for 5 reps, and add weight each workout. This will be interesting. I started relatively low with my work sets, so I (hopefully) don't immediately get stuck too soon in the program.

Marcy - ^^^5's on the chin-ups! Glad you got to have your dance. West Coast Swing sounds like fun. :)

Melissa - Ugh...I soooo hear you re: diet. Since the beginning of November I've had way too much sugar (and beer and wine ) in my diet. I'm trying to make it a little more Paleo. WTG on the swings!!

Jane - I really like the Pendulum! It's funny about your gloves, I'm glad you found them. You need warm hands for all those swings and pull ups! :)

Hi Rhonda!!!

Here's the rundown on last nights SS:

Workout A
Warm up - lots of limbering, dislocates, air squats, dynamic stretching
TGU 3r/3l 12kg (because they are so good for you)

Work sets (I'm omitting the warm up sets)
Squats - 3x5 @ 83#
Bench Press - 3x5 @ 58#
Deadlift - 1x5 @ 183#

Cash out - K2A (armpits) 3x5

This all felt pretty good. I'm focusing hard on form, and can definitely feel where things aren't totally 100%. The squat is the hardest to get comfortable in...the arm position feels a little weird, I may keep the same weight for tomorrow.

Today I rest!

Have a great day!

Good Morning!

I really enjoyed the workout last night. Today I'm doing PLB. I seriously need to work my legs.

Melissa ~ I didn't make up the Pendulum workout from last night. I found it in my stash of workouts. It was a good workout to do inside.

Marcy ~ Hope it's warming up by you. We will be in the 60s by Thursday. Yeah!! :D:D

Gayle ~ Great workout yesterday! Enjoy your rest day!

Waving hello to Deanie and Rhonda!!

HELLO EVERYONE! :)

I have only a moment.

I did TGU, 7 minutes worth. They are REALLY starting to grow on me!!! I alternated between 20 and 25#. I then did a couple rounds of pull and chins. They felt SO EASY after doing them with the vest yesterday.
When DD gets home this afternoon we are going to do a lower body workout together. She really misses running, and she wants to get into shape for track.

Will be back later!

Finally heard back from the water company: The checked our meter and this month's reading is on par with what all of our other reading have been (besides this month, obviously.) Yet they are refusing to adjust our bill.

They don't know that I go to church with Sandra Chapman from WTHR - or that her son had a crush on me when he was in elementary school. ;) BRING IT!

Good Afternoon!

I survived 40/20 this morning but it was more like 40/60 for me! I thought I was in good shape. I admit my breathing wasn't as good as it could have been to start but I'm amazed that people's heartrates come down that quickly to do the next interval. I appreciated she gave us a couple of 1-min. rest intervals. My HR was pretty much in the mid-90s for each interval except for the plunge lunge and the split jumps.

The only Shock Cardio I have left is Cardio Core Circuit. Overall, I'm pleased with the workouts even though they do have lots of recycled moves in them. The HIIT and the MMAs are the standouts for me.

Melissa - WTG on the TGUs! I did see your post re Budokon. Sorry it didn't work out for you. I wasn't sure about them the first time I did them but once I got more familiar with the moves, I liked them much better the second time around. Sorry about your water bill!:( Maybe you should see what Sandra Chapman can do for you. Maybe you could send a letter to the CEO/President of the water company. Have a great workout with DD!

Gayle - Great job on the DL! My diet hasn't been the greatest either but I've been really trying to up the protein and decrease the carbs and that seems to work better for me (although I can't stay away from chocolate covered raisins!)

Jane - Yes, it will be warmup up by the end of the week. It was actually 30 this morning which was nice!

Deanie - How'd it go with the TGUs?

Hi Rhonda!

Marcy

Deanie, WTHR is a local news station here. And if I were 15 years younger I would think her son was cute, too. :p
I went to her page and was going to submit a request when I saw the other things that people had written... and now my problems don't look so bad. How can I complain about my water bill when guards are having sex with inmates or people are forced to live in moldy houses? I will talk to her when I see her, but I can't stand to see my complaint listed on the same page with serious concerns like theirs.

Marcy, our town council is in charge of the water, and they have never done anything to help anyone else with similar complaints so I am not hopeful. Their philosophy is: it isn't our fault, it must be you. Last time we had this issue was when we were on vacation, and our reading was the highest it have ever been since we lived here - and we were gone for 10 days of the billing cycle. We went to the person in charge and were told "You must have done laundry and left a toilet running before you left and that's what used up so much water. Our digital readers have a zero to slim margin of error, so we didn't read your meters wrong." Well, we don't wait until we go on vacation to decide we want to clean our clothes, and we don't have a running toilet. They told my neighbor who had been on vacation for THREE weeks the exact same thing. It is very frustrating because I have contacted several neighbors and the concensus is: yeah, it sucks, we feel like we are getting screwed - but let us know what you find out. Nobody is willing to even go over their bills - some because they don't know how to read them and others because it's too much work and it p!ss#s me off. I can't imagine how social reformers did it when I am just dealing with a few people and a water company and want to scream!

Enough ranting now, I think that I am just going to do what I can, and will update when there is something positive to report.

DD is home and we are gonna work on our running muscles!
