Good Morning gals!!!!!

.............just getting us started. finished my workout, feeling it all over:eek:, off to shower....will bbl with personals!!!:):):):)

Grin and bear it

Buy-in

 • 30 box jumps used 16" since it was a warm up
 • 30 pistols (15L/15R), split ‘em up however you like subbed pry squats today

These are skill movements, so spend time thinking about your form, range of motion (full hip extension and solid landings on the box jumps, upright torso and depth on the pistols). Use pistol assistance and progressions as needed.

603 WOD

 • AMRAP in 10:00 of “Bear Complex” (95#/65#) scale down as needed ****
 • Power clean
 • Front squat
 • Push press/push jerk
 • Return the bar behind the neck
 • Back squat
 • Push press/push jerk (from behind the neck)
 • Return to rack

The above sequence of movements constitutes ONE REP. The movements are performed sequentially – the bar can rest in the rack or on your back, but not on the ground once you’ve begun the rep. Note, the front squat and PP/PJ may be combined into a thruster. However, you may NOT simply perform a squat clean as the first movement. You must return to standing after the clean, and before beginning the squat. Record full number of reps and any partial movements to comments.
You can see how this sequence looks in this CrossFit video. Note, they are performing a bit of a different workout, with set rep and rest schemes. Don’t worry about that – just work the movements as many times as you can, as fast as you can with proper form.

Cash out

 • Work your hips out with some pigeon pose and walking lunge stretches

NOTES:
*** WOD - scaled down to a 55# barbell

**did 12 rounds total:

* this was one tough workout!! why do I continue to think it will be fun!!??:p
*happy with my squats!! all were below parallel:)

** last time used 50# barbell and did 15 rounds

Have a terrific Tuesday!!!

Wow, Deanie, that is a great workout! It actually does look fun on paper, like it flows really well and would make you feel super to be able to execute it smoothly.

Marcy, it is amazing how much more time child-rearing takes the less they need you physically is't it? I always thought it would get easier as they get older, haha! ;)

Okay, I read this weekend's thread and am cracking up! Partly because it's funny and party because I can't believe that people actually believe that kind of stuff! I mean, seriously, wouldn't there be more of a concern that your uterus would fall out while you were having a baby? Another Cheers! to Katherine Switzer!!! :D:D:D

Hello to Gayle, Jane and Rhonda!!!

Today's workout:

Swingin' Cindy

AMRAP in 20 minutes:
5 pull ups
10 push ups
15 swings

I completed 13 rounds, tried to do some handstands but my back was fried and I was shaking like crazy

~had to take a break to grab a chair to help me out when I got too fatigued to pull my body weight up at all, even with a jump. That took at least 90-120 seconds
:mad::mad: darn, my pride, I didn't think I'd need anything
~I got the first three rounds in with perfect execution w/o any help re: pull ups :D
~all push ups on toes
~did first 7 rounds with 35#kb, had to switch to 25# because my forearms were burning, but went back up to 35# after 3 rounds because my forearms weren't getting better so I decided to finish strong

Today I get to play with my nephew! I am picking him up from pre-school and we are going to party like rockstars :D I love my nephew

See you all later!
Melissa :)

Hey Guys,

I'm doing a workout tonight but not sure what. I'm still taking care of my ankle and am still a little tentative even though it really doesn't hurt. I may push Murph back to Sunday. I could probably handle the push ups and the squats but not sure about 300 of them and not sure about running yet. I'll keep you posted.

My life has been one thing after another sinus issues, car transmission, ankle, work issues in which I walked out last week after my boss screamed at me for no reason. I'm back but now I'm looking for a job. Our company isn't doing too well financially anyway (well hasn't for a long time) so this is probably something I need to be doing regardless. Dad is also declining a bit. He is having more trouble with his walking so we may have to make some decisions regarding his care. He's seeing the doctor next week so we'll see what happens.

That's for letting me vent. Regardless of all this drama, I feel really good and positive. I'm not sure why but I do.

Deanie ~ Tough workouts are always fun! The fun comes in the sense of accomplishment and the fact that you have the guts to attempt it!!

Melissa ~ I like the swinging Cindy workout! The reason they thought about the "uterus" thing is that one of the early Olympics (I believe) their was a longer race that women were doing. I can't remember the distance but it was really hot and after the race the women started passing out so it was determined that women weren't or couldn't run longer distances.

It was interesting to read the early days of the sport when you had to order your shoes directly from the manufacturer and they didn't have water stations or anything in the marathon. It was a very interesting read on many levels.

Marcy ~ That is so cool that you are going to have Thanksgiving dinner at a Diner (from Diners, Drive-ins and Dives). My sister wants to plan a road trip where we spend most of the time going to the restaurants featured on the television show. I better bring my kettlebell for that trip!!! :p

Waves hi to Gayle and Rhonda!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!

I did True Strength from Mark Blanchard's True Power Yoga series. He really loves chaturangas! I had a pretty good practice:

Practiced handstands against the wall
Was able to do forearm stands a couple of times in center of room for about a second each time
Did headstand for 25 seconds
Did really good crane 3x with jump back into chaturanga
Practiced straight leg levitation holds
Wheel (backbend) with one leg in air
Held shoulderstand for what seemed like an eternity!

Deanie - Doesn't look like a fun workout to me either! I couldn't wait to get a barbell after I moved and now I hardly ever use it! Great job!

Melissa - Working full-time and having a child with ADD left no time for Mom. Homework was a nightmare! Great workout! Good that you were able to go back up in weight.

Jane - Sorry to hear about all you're going through. You can vent here anytime. Venting always helps me feel better. Speaking about women's issues: Mark Blanchard said in the practice today that inversions were okay for a woman at TTOM. He said something about the body being a circulatory system (??) but if it bothered you then don't do them.

You might have to bring 2 kettlebells for that trip!

Marcy

Howdy!

Marcy - Great yoga practice today! It's really impressive. :)

Jane - {{{HUGS}}} I'm sorry everything is piling on you. :( Keep up your positive outlook. Vent away to us if you need to.

Melissa - I like swinging Cindy. Great job! Have fun with your nephew. :)

Deanie - Awesome workout today! Nice job on the low squats. It really is deceptive on paper. :)

Waves to Rhonda!

I don't know what I'm doing today. Something short and kettlebellish at home probably.

Have a great day!

HI guys!!!

this is the first time I could get to the computer all day!!! I had to sub for one of my friends at school, and she works till 3pm today:mad::mad::mad: I didn't want to, but there was no one else. Oh well...extra moolah!

thanks for the kudos on the workout...

Melissa::: LOVE the Swingin' Cindy workout!!! I may sub that tomorrow for my met con after dl's and press! GREAT job with the pullups!!! yes, I am finding out the early years of raising kids were actually easier!:eek::eek: who knew??? Have fun with your nephew today!

Jane::: (((((HUGS)))) here is a group hug for you: I hope things improve for you soon. I admire your "glass half full" attitude! We are always here for you if you need to vent!! So feel free anytime:):):):) I am going to cancel my plans to do Murph on thursday. I am raising my weights for my dl this week by 10 and then 20#, and I haven't been sleeping well. If I do Murph, that's 6 days for me, and I only want to do 5 workout days this week...sorry:( Hope you are better by Sunday to do the workout!

Marcy::: good job with the forearm stands!!! When I did yoga, I never paid attention to the whole inversion/TTOM thing. if it was my yoga day, I did yoga. period.....of course I am anal,...but it never made a difference to me. Thanksgiving at a Diner sounds fun!

Gayle::: Have fun with your short kb workout. Swingin' Cindy looks fun...???

waves to Rhonda!!

Our thanksgiving plans are just us. We have no family in the area and my DH's store is open this year from 5-9pm, and he is working. Since I am vegetarian and no one else likes turkey, the boys and my DH asked for brisket!!! So I am making them brisket and a yummy pumpkin and white bean soup for all of us! We will probably be in our pj's all day:):):):):)! Love just us on Thanksgiving!!!

I have been corresponding (by email) with Dallas of the 603 asking about the pttp and my cycling the weights. he asked for a video of me deadlifting and pressing....now I'm nervous. I am 95% sure I am doing the exercise correctly, but nervous I may not be...and I've never had someone critique my form:eek::eek::eek:...well, dance class, but I don't think that counts!!!LOL anyway, DS13 is going to help me put the video on the computer and send it this weekend... I'll let you guys know how it turns out/what he says!!:eek:

Have a great evening!!!

Oh, VERY COOL!!! I can't wait to hear what says.

I've never been critiqued by video (except me critiquing myself), but I have had the fitness center director here critique a few lifts for me in person and it was definitely beneficial and all constructive. :)

Deanie ~ Thanks for the group hug!! Very cool about the video. Don't feel nervous. I'm sure you are doing them correctly and it's nice to have someone there to give you a little guidance if you need it.

I'm sure you are doing them correctly

I sure hope so!!:p LOL!

nice to have someone there to give you a little guidance if you need it.

that's what I'm hoping for. I think I am really close to hitting a dl at a weight (don't want to say and jinx it) I want to lift, but I'm not sure how to get there. I'm hoping the video and Dallas will help me get there!

Deanie, that is so weird because I just asked DH y'day afternoon how to set up our camera so that I can watch my form. I feel the same way that you do: I am almost 100% positive that I'm doing everything right, but I just want to know for sure. I think it is so great that Dallas is helping you out this way!!! How many instructors that don't know you personally do that?

Jane, ((((((((((HUGS GIRL!)))))))))))))) I am so sorry for everything that you are going through right now. Vent away! Sorry your boss lost it on you, and good luck on the job hunt. Having a positive attitude is awesome. :D Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "
I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains." ~ Anne Frank. It can't get any worse than what she experienced, so it is convicting to have a bad attitude when what I am going through doesn't even come close. No matter what happens, life cannot get you down unless you let it. :) Saying a quick prayer for your family and father...

Marcy, how old is your dc now? I think that if my youngest was in school he would probably be diagnosed with some sort of attention disorder. School would, quite literally, be hell for him and I know he would be in trouble all of the time. All of that paperwork is hard enough when you can focus and sit still. :(
AWESOME FREAKIN' JOB ON THE FOREARM STANDS!!! I know that had to feel good!!!

Gayle, can't wait to see what you are going to do. Have you been thinking about any new home reno projects?

So, did the day for Murphy change to Sunday, or is it still Thursday? I am cool with whichever, just let me know. :)

Melissa

Deanie - That's awesome you'll be getting a critique on your form (although I'm sure you're probably doing just fine!)

Melissa - My youngest (DS) is 20 and DD is 22. Writing was real hard for him and I used to fight with the school constantly about making him write words 5x each (especially when spelling was his best subject!) He could have spent his time more wisely doing other things that he needed more help in.

I'm not doing Murph on Thursday but will try and think of something to do that will burn lots of calories. Was almost thinking of doing Newport but I want to do something fun and without too much torture!

Marcy
