Good Morning

Sorry I was MIA this weekend. We got 20+ inches of snow!!!! First time in forever that it snowed this much in the DC area:):):):) Schools are closed today!! The kids are loving it!
It started snowing on Friday night and continued all most all day Saturday. We made out way out sat. morning for a friends bar mitzvah, but the sat. night celebration was postponed till Sunday afternoon, which was good since we were not going to venture out again! They even told my DH to close his store since the county declared a state of emergency!!! You know its bad if retail stores are closing and its the last Saturday before xmas!!!:eek::eek::eek:did anyone else get a lot of snow this weekend?

Marcy::: I hope you get your sts cardio on tues! let us know what you think. I also liked the mma best of all the sts cardio and am looking forward to seeing the clips. so far, I don't feel i've missed out on anything.

This weekend on Friday we got a horrible virus in our computer, on sat. afternoon I was on the phone for 2 hours with my brother (the computer expert) trying to get rid of it!!!! It is finally gone!:):)

and I am off to start my last week of pttp. i really liked this program, and i know i've done 12 weeks, but i could easily continue for a while more..... I decided to continue with the 180# for at least 2 more days... while we were stuck inside i reread pttp and Pavel says you can take a 1-2 second rest between reps to "reset" - so I am going to try that this week. I am sure it will help.

ps/fyi: since the bar mitzvah was postponed to sunday afternoon, i didn't think I could wear my new fun dress and wore something else. we got to the hall, and everyone was wearing cocktail dresses!!!:mad::( I was really upset, my DH said I still looked nice (I wore a diff. black dress) but I was sad because I really wanted to wear the new dress.....you know, I think its a girl thing.....

** blaming the inability to do 5 or 3 dl's as Rx'd @ 180 for my 1st and 2nd set on the cheesecake i ate yesterday!;):p
** last time I did the suitcase deadlift I stopped at 60#, so an improvement today:).....love suitcase dl's!!

Hi everyone

Today I got off of my slowly expanding (insert appropriate body part here) and did Providence.

Shock cardio is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday (the day I go out of town:mad:). Would it be weird if I pushed my plans back a day?

Deanie- Whoa! I bet the snow was beautiful. No snow here but it is sunny and 60. You will get another chance to wear your cute dress.

Gayle- I am excited for you. That is awesome and you will put it to good use.

Jane- Don't you live near Jax? I may fly there to get home. The direct flights are oversold and I don't think I have a chance of getting out otherwise.

Marcy- Maybe we can pick a day to do an SC together.

Hello!!

I was MIA this weekend too. I did workout though. I did Insanity on Saturday and yesterday I did HSTA. I haven't done that one in a long time. Loved it!!

Deanie ~ No snow for us here. :( I remember snow days very well. I looked forward to them every winter. It was in the 30's this morning but will be 60 today. It's going to be in the 70's on Xmas Eve!

I'm sorry you couldn't wear your new black dress over the weekend. Maybe you can get your hubby to take you somewhere nice so you can wear it! :)

Rhonda ~ I live about a 2 1/2 drive from Jax.

Rhonda/Marcy ~ I preordered Shock Cardio but did not get a notice. I can't remember if I chose USPS or UPS. I think I chose whatever was cheaper so it will be a surprise when it gets here.

I'm supposed to go to the gym tonight to deadlift, but I'm not sure if it's open.:eek:

I'm thinking about giving Starting Strength a try in January, since I'll be able to lift at home. But the $64 question is: Can I stick with a program?? :eek::eek: Sounds like I need a resolution. :p

Gayle::: I hope your gym is open tonight! What is starting strength? you will stick to a program when you find one you enjoy..... really the most important thing is to just workout!.... and now you can ....at home!!!!!:):):) and not have to worry if the gym is open or not!:)

I spent the better part of the morning cleaning and I think I pulled something in my back when I was carrying the vacuum cleaner downstairs!:mad::mad: I hope it feels better tomorrow, or I won't be doing dl's!!! can you believe I go 11 weeks in a program with no problem and the last week I pull something!!!! argh!:mad::rolleyes::)

Good Afternoon!

Sorry for posting so late but I had to get out a bunch of holiday cards at work.

I did Shred #2 and #3 back to back (first time doing that!) Great workout. Used 13# for #2 for most of the workout and went up a couple of reps here and there. For #3, I had clean & presses which I used the 25# kb for. I went up to 10# on the Renegade Rows with leg lift. Did 16 rock star jumps! Was finally able to do all of the slow scissors.

I've been watching lots of Shock Cardio clips today. Some of the MMA workouts remind me of some of the moves in Budokon which I'm glad about. Someone over at VF didn't give a favorable review but maybe she didn't know what to expect. It seems to have a lot of the rolling moves from floor to standing.

Rhonda - I'd be happy to do some Shock Cardio with you. Just let me know when!

Deanie - Sorry you didn't get to wear your new black dress but I'm sure you looked great anyway! I'd be happy to do ONE deadlift at 180#! You're still doing great! I hope your back feels better by tomorrow!

Jane - HSTA is my favorite Cathe circuit! (Although I might change my mind after Shock Cardio gets here!)

Gayle - Do tell - What is Starting Strength? Hope your gym is open tonight.
