Hi...back for some personals........

Traci...Sending big waves to you in California!!!!!

Laurie...I bet Cami just loves your winters...Isn't she a German Shepard? They have such thick coats. Your DD's sound happy and active...that is a great thing! Those actor types seem to have too much time on their hands without the faire going on! Hope you enjoyed yogaX yesterday...better you than me...lol.

Carol...Your son is a cutie! I had super crooked teeth too...And that was back in the day that orthodontics was just starting out...I was the first kid in my elementary school that had braces...and I kept them until I was a sophomore in high school! Hope you made it through GS legs yesterday with shining colors.

Teddygirl...You crazy woman...SH not enough?!? Glad you had such a good walk.

Jeanette...Hope you tummy is feeling better! Sounds like you have a good weekend planned for your DS....Food, family and fun! What could be better? How is the golfing this week? Our weather here has finally cooled off a bit...The high today is only supposed to be 69...which is a vast improvement over the 85 we had yesterday!

Sandra...Hope the grocery shopping trip went well without any temper tantrums. How are you liking your rotation?

Nicole....I am glad your family has a happy celebration this weekend. It is a good reminder that like is such a precious gift and it is so important to make the most of it.

Tracy...Sounds like you need that break today after struggling a bit yesterday. LOL about the bday cake....That is why I never attempt to make my own cakes...Just easier to buy them...Maybe Sandra can send on down for you...She probably has a couple in her freezer that are ready to ship! How many more classes do you have???

Okay....I guess I am caught up for now...Waving to Amy, Swifty, Wendy (where are you?), Lea, and Cheryl...Did I miss anyone...Big apologies if I did!

Morning Xers,

Rotation: LGI8 Week5/Day1
Workout: 60 Min. Walk Half outside/Half on Treadmill (with rolling hills)

Again it was nice and chilly when I walked the dog. But this time I was a smart person and put on my winter coat, gloves and hat. Made for a much better walk.

Tonight we are going to see the production of My Fair Lady. This is one of the DD's favorite musicals. Will be interesting to see it performed on stage. We will be going with my MIL, SIL and niece. So I will have a car full. Girls will be tired by the time we get home, but they are excited. Oldest is finding out if she will be able to get extra credit for her acting class. :)

Tracy, Sounds like you need to take the rest day. My day is sort of like that too. Hope your class goes well tonight. Sorry to hear about the cake. Great job on the walking lunges.

Debra, Glad you had a good time at Chapel Hill. Fun to go back and see how things have changed. Or was it all just the same as you remember. :D Add on because we must have posted at the same time. Yep Cami is a GS, and she appears to be loving this weather. Yesterday I took the chance and let her off leash. Of course I wasn't crazy, I had a hot dog with me. She didn't roam very far. :7 :7

Have a great day!

Laurie :7 :7

Good morning

Rotation: Slow & Heavy/week I
am: hour jog/completed
pm: ?????

Tracey: taking a rest day, huh! You deserve it:) you are so dedicated, Have a great time at class today.

Debra: how are you doing missy? Me I good. My run was awesome this morning, I like workouts like that leaving me smiling for joy:)

I ate like a pig all yesterday and last nightx( when I got home Ted had brought pizza and I was hungry too ate 2 slices and I had 4 pumpkin cookies, EEK x(

I know I said No workouts in the evening (((BUT))) the next two weeks need cardio lots and lots of cardio going to make cardio my morning workout. My pants are extremely tight in thighs and butt is getting wider. I have to stop night eating and munching, with you know who:D :D it is killing me.

Planning to do a PM workout, but not sure if I will be able to get it in, because we’re going grocery shopping at B’J’s, I put it off yesterday. I was so tired when I got home, went straight to bed. I believe me eating more has everything to do with me lifting in the morning, and I was extremely hungry all day yesterday, so there I was laying in my bed this morning thinking about a plan of attack, what I came up with is this EAT a bigger breakfast that’s it. I'll see how that work, I be back

Good morning,
Today was about 30 minutes or so of Cardio Fusion Step Only premix, then switched to hi-lo in Christi Taylor's Totally Hot Cardio. Fun workout. I enjoy Christi because my mind always has to keep working as her stuff is trickier, but not as intense as Cathe, so I'll keep throwing in some Cathe work too. Have golf class again tonite. Last night's class was really fun, a smaller group so we got more attention from the teacher. I was pleased with my driving on the range and then went out to the course with 3 others. We played until we couldn't see the ball, plus it was getting pretty chilly. Was very fun to play and fun socially.

Tracy, enjoy your well deserved rest day from exercise. I've done that with a cake. Have a birthday for DS and haven't decided whether to make a cake or dessert or buy.

Debra, so glad you had a good time in Chapel Hill. Has it changed a lot from when you were last there? Thanks for asking about my belly, no problems yesterday at all and energy was definitely high all day. Weekend weather looks good for our family celebration for both DS's. Golf was really fun, hope I do okay tonite. I have a way of learning something and then the next time, changing it to something I shouldn't be doing. Guess I have no muscle memory yet. It's a lot of fun to go out on the course with others as we are all beginners and not real serious about it (yet). So even if the ball just dribbles off of the tee, we just laugh and try again. No one breaking clubs over there knee or tossing clubs in the pond yet. I was one of the first in our school with braces too. Back then, they had these torture devices that they cemented onto your teeth. A lot different than nowadays. I had them for years and years and years it seemed.

Laurie, glad you enjoyed the walk. I heard someone say once that there is no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing and I think that's mostly true. I had to wear a neck scarf and jacket while golfing yesterday. My feet got so cold in my tennies and I definitely needed gloves. Hope you have a fantastic time seeing My Fair Lady! Bet the girls are so excited!!! Sounds like life is good with Cami. So wonderful that she found such a good home. I feel so sorry for the animals that are chained up, never let out of their kennels or yards. It's just too sad. I've also seen people do that with horses too, keep them in a very small pen. Very inhumane in my opinion.

Got to go now, hi to everyone else.

Jeanette

Anointed, you got in while I was posting. I won't even tell you what I had to eat yesterday and it started from the moment I walked into work. I need to just stick with what I bring to work to eat, no hitting the candy machine in the afternoon. Tis the season for pumpkin stuff, huh? What's for breakfast? I had hot oat bran cereal (kind of like cream of wheat). My new favorite over oatmeal right now. Hope you have a great day at work today!

Jeanette

Good Morning, ladies!!!

Seems a bit quiet around here without our resident chatter-girl, Traci!

Yesterday I finally got the lawn mowed! I also made parallettes out of PVC pipe. I really don't know what I'm going to do with them, other than use them for a template to make taller ones so I can do inverted rows at home. I got the instructions off the OD topic last week.

Today is HIIT and grocery shopping. I have also planned a 'vacation' meal tonight. DH and I are meeting a friend at the local super-awesome pizza joint and I'm going to have pizza and wine for dinner! I haven't had that stuff for almost 2 months! It will be interesting what my stomach makes of it!

I hope that everyone has a good day. I may be back later.....

:* :*

Jeanette: I see you had a cardio fest, nice work. Okay time to get busy, Thanksgiving is just around the corner, it’s time to stop the nonsense, right. Breakfast was 1c steel cut oats with 2 tbsp of PP and my milk is still staring me in the face

Laurie: Its’cold here tox( Old man winter is just around the corner, I HATE winter some like it, I don’t. Enjoy My far Lady, let me know what you think about it.

Amy: Wait one second missy, I chat more than Tracie don’t I:+ I had pizza last night and it was so good, I could've ate more than 2 slices to be honest. Enjoy your your evening:)

Today, I’m going to order Kimberly Spreen Absolute Kickboxing with Combat Intervals that’s her new one right? or Janis Saffell Kick It and Total Cardio Kick these two are pretty cheat I found them on deepdiscount

Which would you get?

TG, I would highly recommend Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing. The combat drills use a weighted body bar. The kickboxing workout itself is awsome, and it also has a very good ad section to it. I have Kick It, but haven't tried it yet. I also have Total Cardio Kick, and that one is broken up into 3 or 4 different 10-15 min. sections. That workout I haven't done in a long time. :)

Laurie

Hi!

This morning was SH Shoulders; BB TS#5 (Legs, glutes, abs).

Tracy - Ahhhh, have a nice rest day. Was the GF you made/bought the cake for the same GF that was trying to lose weight? How is she doing? How is your son doing? The link between soy and (breast)cancer is quite complicated, if you try to wade through all the studies on it. I agree that a little soy in the diet isn't likely any more harmful than animal proteins. I really want to buy organic milk, eggs, and meat, but the price always sends me reeling back to the regular grocery store.

Debra - Nope, no tantrums. I left the 2 year old with the neighbour, which always makes it easier for me to maintain my patience :) I like my rotation very much, but I'm ready to put SH to bed for a while. I'm half way through the 3rd week of using one part/day. Time to move on! I've only got one cake in the freezer at the moment. I'd be happy to make another. What flavour? Maybe I'll try to squeeze in Squeeze next week. Don't hold me to that, though.

Wendy - have we had a post from you since Tuesday? Did you so fall in love with BBC that you've abandoned us and started your own BBC check-in thread?

Nicole - No, I haven't tried Clark's tofu-chocolate shake, yet. I have a Pumpkin-Spice smoothie recipe from Vegan Planet that I want to try this week. Hm, maybe tomorrow morning, as I've just run out of my Extreme Green Smoothie, and won't be near the store to buy more for a few days.

Laurie - I'm glad you didn't get roped into doing the hygiene committee thing. Oh, your trip to the theatah sounds like a lot of fun!!!! Have a great time!

Teddygirl - I've had a suspicion for years now that if I was living alone I'd eat less junk food, and not even miss it. Since we have the stuff in the house for DH and the kids, I'm constantly having to exercise my self-discipline, and sometimes I don't succeed. You're not alone!

Jeanette - Oh my the hayrake sounds like a cruel joke! You poor thing. Can you sue for damages? How do you do with Christie's hi/lo choreography? I find her hi/lo workouts so much harder to learn than her step ones, because the tempo is faster, and she seems to throw the footwork at you quicker. I've done her THCardio and TCStep workouts almost as frequently as the other, and still have to scratch my head through much of the hi/lo, while being flawless with the step. Maybe I should spend some time with the MoveMaster, on THCardio. Mmmmm, I love Oat Bran! Especially with brown sugar and raisins. But then, anything goes great with brown sugar and raisins. What a fun celebration you'll be having on Saturday!! What's tri-tip? I have a suspicion it's a cut of beef? Your family get-togethers are sounding awfully yummy, too. Between your weekend adventures, and your family get togethers, I definitely want to come and be part of your family.

Carol - Thank you for posting the pics of your son and explaining the elastic situation. My brother and I were lucky enough to inherit straight teeth with good enamel, so our trips to the dentist were once a year, at best. I'm barely familiar with any dental procedure beyond a good cleaning. I do remember my friend's struggles with braces, though. They really do seem like mini-torture devices, although I can see importance of doing it.

Hello Amy, Cheryl, and Traci! I hope you're having a great day,
Sandra

Bryan Kest Yoga Tone

My back is really acting up and my chiro is on vacation so I have to take it easy. Yoga is actually not as easy as you would think when you have a bum back and knee. I am falling apart ladies:(

Off to pick up the boys now but just wanted to skim through and check up on my girls:)

SandraX, I have Vegan Planet, I'll have to check that smoothie out:9

DebraX, Yes, I am glad my brother is getting married this weekend because of the distraction. My whole family is in town and that doesn't happen very often.

TracyX, Next week I am making an appointment with my regular doctor to get her opinion on my knee and back. Maybe x-rays are in my future:p Have fun celebrating your DS's GF's birthday.

All catch up with the rest of you later,

Nicole

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

Hi all,

Not much time right now, we are having a break.

I saw the cardio breakdown of the new workouts on video fitness and I must admit, I'm a little disappointed that the cardio is so short. One is only 16 minutes.

Nicole - I'm sorry your back is bothering you. I surely wouldn't do any impact of any sort for a while or lift any weights. I resorted to walking at first, and even that was painful. Oh, ice helped me the most. I used to ice my spine 3-4 times a day and I actually would always fall asleep with ice on my back. That and very gentle stretching 3x per day. I wasn't able to do yoga at first. You should be really careful, you do not want to go through what I did. It was not worth the few extra workouts that sent me over the edge.

Teddygirl - I've increased my morning calories with more protien and I'm not feeling nearly as famished during the day. Once I get that feeling, it is really hard to control what I eat once I get home.

Debra - What did it end up being? Eion or Kest?

Laurie - Winter clothes? Wow what a change. We went down 30 degrees during the day and probably 50 at night.

Jeanette - Still loving the Christi huh? Will you be doing the PGA tour soon?

Sandra - I can't afford organic food either. I just hope that the variety will help keep down the harmful effects of food. I'm with you on the S&H. It is just SO boring. Effective, but boring. Yes the GF is the one who, I think, was, trying to loose weight. She just doesn't want it bad enough. I feel so bad for her because it will be so difficult if not risky for her to ever get pregnant or maintain a pregnancy without complications.

Well the break is taking way longer than it should.

Tracy

Hi all! DD just got in her Halloween costume...Very cute...She is going to be a Goth Princess this year...I thought she would be Hannah Montana, but I think this outfit is really cute. I ended up doing Bryan today...the Sweat portion of his Power Yoga dvd..This was the first time I had done that section...I was afraid it was going to be too hard for me...but I really enjoyed it. I kind of felt my elbow tweaking a bit during the push ups...but it feels fine now. I am planning on Kenpo in for tomorrow, so that definitely won't be taxing on it. I guess I will start my new rotation on Saturday since my recovery week will be over.

personals.........

Tracy...I am sure I will be happy to see Cathe's short cardio! But I know how you like to run and workout for hours! How much does DS's GF weigh? I was definitely overweight during my college years...thinned out a bit after, but it wasn't until my late 30's that I finally took responsibility for my health and weight. Sometimes I think you have to be a little older to gain some perspective on that.

Laurie...Hope you guys have a great time at My Fair Lady! I am sure you will have a blast. Chapel Hill was the same...and different..It was funny how I remembered which buildings I took which classes in...I may try to take DD on soon to the planetarium there. A couple of my favorite restaurants are there too. I actually go back in a couple of weeks for a football game, so that should be a lot of fun. I am sure Cami will stay close to the hot dogs!!

Teddygirl...I would think you would be getting of cardio with Ted...LOL! You will like the Absolute KB....it's a lot of fun.

Jeanette...Sounds like you are having a great time with the golf. I need to get back on my bike again. It has been a couple of weeks, I think. I don't know why that it hasn't worked into my routine the past couple of weeks. I have to ride when DD is at school...so maybe my cardio just came on the wrong days. My braces were the same...cemented on. I still remember how the cement tasted! I had to wear an extra torture device called a tooth guard that was supposed to keep me from pushing on my teeth when I swallowed. It made playing the clarinet especially challenging!

Amy...Glad the lawn finally got mowed...See I told you it would still be there! Have a great time with pizza night. I think pizza is my favorite food....lol!

Sandra...Good thinking leaving the toddler at home for the shopping trip! 3 weeks is usually my max on SH too...Are you going to use GS instead or change your entire rotation? I start 1 body part per day for my next rotation. Don't send any cakes here! With just DD and I they never get eaten. That's why I don't bake more. Send them all to Jeanette...I am sure someone will eat them at her house!

Nicole...Seems like we were sharing Bryan today. Hope you were gentle with your back....Please take it easy...especially with your chiro out of town. Listen to Tracy...she has a lot of experience with back pain. How great for you to see all of your family at one time...I am sure you guys will have a great weekend!

Okay...think I am caught up for now. My mom is picking up DD from school tomorrow and she is spending the night there tomorrow night...so I am a free and adult woman after 8 am tomorrow....What will I do with myself??? Probably take a nap...LOL!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry to be MIA these past couple of days. Yes, I realize it's late. Haven't been able to sleep well these past couple of days either. :thinking this must be what it's like to live Amy's life minus the catch up sleep: Nothing major going on. Just the typical run of the mill drama.;-)

I didn't go to power yoga class tonight. The weather is rainy and dreary. Plus, my evening schedule is all messed up with having to teach Phil what and how to teach the twins.

Today is officially Friday. But, I'll let Tracy start Friday's check-in. That means today is L&B plus ARX. I can't wait for recovery week!!!

Traci-X: If you're checking in... Sorry I missed you before you left! I'll just have to wait until you return to chat as much as possible before it's my turn to leave. Have a great vacation!!! LOL about the sleeping arrangements. I hope you made sure to wash off your mascara before you go to bed.;-)

Laurie-XX: My Fair Lady is a great musical!!! Hope you all had a fun girls night out! I've only had time to preview the Total Body video of BBC. I wasn't impressed. But, things always look easier in bed!!! Not that it looked easy. It looked boring and too much of the same move for a minute or two. What's your thoughts on that one? LOL on keeping your dog under control with a hot dog. OH! Did you watch Top Chef this season? I'm so glad Hung won!!!! No, it's not because he's my brother from another mother. LOL I really liked him and totally understood where he was coming from. Did you read Anthony Bourdain's blog covering it. OMW! That man is so freaking funny and spot on!

Debra-X: What all did you do at Chapel Hill? Dish... How many guys hit on you during your after lunch cat walk?}( :+ I've been thinking about your future career. I realized this week that I've only got 6-7 years to save up enough money (~ $30,000)for dd's dental implants. Perhaps, I'll learn how to do Thail massage while I'm in Thailand and make my fortune when I return. Wanna join me? :) It's a thought.

Carol: I must have missed something. This happens when I'm not posting every hour! LOL Why is your husband being a wonderful man waking up earlier? Whatever the reason, it was nice to hear a husband be complimented. Oh, I love your son's photo blog and art pictures. It's amazing what modern medical science and technology can accomplish! Nathan looks great! We are doing earth science this year. I had originally wanted to do it last year along with Apologia Astronomy. But, we got burnt out with science every day. So, it's on this year's agenda. We're using A Child's Geography: Explore His Earth by Ann Voskamp. The girls and I have enjoyed it so far. It's very Charlotte Masony. We read, they narrate, make little postcards to home, and do the crafts and activities. We haven't bought or borrowed related books yet. I'll let grandmom do that with the twins.

Jeanette-X: Are you ready for Saturday's big party? How sweet of you all to celebrate the end of his apprenticeship. We didn't do that for Phil. His dad retired the same day when Phil became a journeyman. Come to think of it. We didn't have a retirement party for his dad either. We just went to the local bar and they had a few drinks. I was pregnant at the time. (What's new!) I have no idea why I'm feeling so stressed. At first I thought it was TTOM. I think it's just a combination of everything, lack of sleep, and not feeling 100%. I'm noticing that I'm coming off very short and blunt. I'll snap out of it soon! I hope that bug is gone by now! I can't believe you missed golf! Well, good! You made it to last Oct. 10th's class. LOL

Nicole-X: Having faith in God is such a comfort in times like these! Her dancing with her dh is a beautiful thought!!! How's your back feeling? Oh HUGS!!!!!!!! How about a nice Thai massage when I return?

Amy: What are parallettes? If I spelled it correctly, it's only because I copied and pasted it from your post! Can't be getting things mixed up. (platemates and playmates) How'd your stomach handle pizza and wine? Hope you had a nice time with dh. OoooLaaaLaaa

Sandra-X: Puleeze! Barry doesn't hold a candle to my Tony.}( Drats! I'm caught! Nothing gets by you! No problem... I'll do it right after your finished doing your set of 45 push ups, 20 terminators, and 4 minutes of Dreya rolls.:p Don't worry. I haven't subbed yet! Paitently awaiting my new Cathes!!! How's the protein increase going? My neighbor had the same problem getting enough protein in his diet when he went vegan. He ended up going back to meats when he found himself in a crying, hormonal mess at work over run of the mill drama. Hey! Maybe, that's my problem? Not enough protein.

Okay, it's after 3:30. I better will myself to sleep. See you all later! Friday (today) is going to be a long day! Dd is getting her shots, homeschool, then off to a fall party for Bible club. Candy hunt in a pile of leaves, games, races, hay ride, damp, cold, junk food, singing (I can't sing!) Oh joy! Yes, you detect sarcasm. Hopefully, I'll be able to put on my best game face come tomorrow evening!!!!

Hi to all the ladies I missed!!!! Tracy, Lea, Swifty (miss you!), TG, and ???? I think that's everyone.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy
