Hi all,
Work was sufficiently difficult today. Our favorite student had a melt down for most of the day and it took 2-3 people to monitor him/watch him while he laid on the floor and humped it off and on. You cannot physically move him because he weights 150+. That's what happens when parents continually make excuses for their child's behavior. They turn 12-13-14 and all he$$ brakes loose. It is quite a shame and will take a long time to undo, if it can be changed at all.
The Gauntlet is done and then 3 segments of yoga Shakti. It was a good workout and now the upper and lower body is sufficiently cooked.
Wendy - Is that what I need to do to build up my forearms; type more? After the dissertation I should look like Popeye then, but I don't.
Debra- Did you throw out the poem or burn it?
Swifty - It is almost all about diet and it has to be for the long run, not just in spurts. That's why cheat days are no good if you are really serious. I have always liked to work legs, and I've always eaten a low fat diet, so my BF is pretty low. Amazingly enough, I think that the lower weight work and the consistent yoga have done the most for my legs. I have just a little in the saddle bag area left to get rid of. I'm bordering being too skinny. You can see every muscle in my legs and upper body. For me, I do cardio 3-4 times per week, usually 2 runs, 30-40 miles on the bike, and some step. I'd watch all that biking because it tends to build big quads. This rotation has been just what I needed. I was consistently doing lower weights 2x per week and this is 3x per week. When I worked upper 3x per week I got great results. The only difficulty is that the cardio is harder when the legs are being worked so hard with weights. I've seen huge improvements in my leg strength though, so I can actually work legs harder once the fatigue is gone. I don't think that riding all the time and no lower weight work is going to get you the results that you want; at least it wouldn't for me.
Traci - I agree, it is nice to know that someone else is up too in the morning. Looks like you are upping the weights. How does it feel?
Nicole - I am so sorry about your nephew. I hope that he doesn't have any lingering cognitive difficulties. It is not the end of the world though, but difficult for many parents to deal with.
Annointed - So Ted is not an option anymore? That is really an understatement isn't it. If I ever get a divorce I'll never marry again, maybe not even date, it is too much trouble.
Jeanette - 18 holes of golf around here costs about 100. It is such a difference. Many people belong to country clubs; of course we don't. Even if we could afford it we wouldn't.
Sorry if I missed anyone. I need to shower and cook some food. I am so glad it is Friday.
