Good evening,
DH and I are cozied up in bed. I'm typing to you all, and he's watching the 2004 Tour de France dvd. Who won that one? Oh, right, Mr. Armstrong LOL!! Nice nice way to spend a late Saturday night.
I survived my busy day. This term all of the kids' extracurricular stuff managed to land on Saturday. It's not the ideal way to do things, but I didn't have much choice. So, Saturday's will be busy for us for the next couple of months.
Now, let's see what you're all up to.....
Tracy....Oh my, I'm so sorry your dog is ill! What's going on around here? You have my complete sympathy. (((((hugs)))). You found IntervalX lower impact than PlyoX, but still tough. I like the sounds of that! What did you think of Core+? Oh, I just read your later post about the new workouts. I can't wait to try the new core workouts!
Traci....You slept 10.5 hours last night?! Wow, you were tired! I hope you don't pay for it with a sleepless night tonight. Why do you guys keep talking about taxes? What taxes do you have to do in January? So???? How did you like the new Tony Kenpo?? Well isn't that a nifty website you found for us. Thanks!! I just read your post to Carol. Wow, you sound very negative about the Lean Rotation and your results. I'm sorry you feel like the last 2 months have been a waste of time. The 3rd phase of Lean is very similar to Classic, and perhaps the sudden increase in weight work will cause a significant, sudden change in your muscles; a big shock to the system. If I could get the STS dvds in only 2 days, for only 15 bucks, I'd be doing the happy dance! The Express delivery to Canada costs $35!!! I chose the patient route and paid $9 for standard post. That means you all will be done your first mesocycle before I even crack open the cellophane wrapping on mine. Oh well.
Christiane....Boy, you and DH are sure dedicated! I admire that. I'm glad you did so well, with your shoulder. I don't know how sane it is inside this cranium, but as long as my overt conversations sound sensible, then I won't book the psych assessment just yet. Have a good flight!
Wendy....Maybe this trip will be better, since you know better what to expect, and how to prepare yourself.
Kim....Your mother is phenomenal! What motivates her to spend so much time at the gym? 12 days down; 78 to go!!!
Jeanette....You made it through all 3 of Christi's combos? Major kudos to you!!! I can't remember for sure, but I think I always gave up during the second one. It seemed so complicated. Yes, I lost 72 pounds over 9 months by following Weight Watchers, and picking up exercise again. That was almost 5 years ago now. You may be well suited to WW. They use their points system to reinforce positive food choices. Nothing is off limits, but when a piece of cake requires you to spend so many more of your precious points than does a bowl of cereal, you tend to choose the bowl of cereal. It's a good program to use if you frequently find yourself eating food outside the home; you estimate the points value and only eat the amount that reflects how many points you have for the day. It's portion control, really. Since I completed the program they've introduced a Core Program. I don't know much about it, but it's a system whereby you can have unlimited quantities of the foods in the Core Program foodlist. New members can choose between the Points System and the Core Program, and can even alternate between them, I think. The only drawback to WW is that maintenace eating is exactly the same as weight-loss eating, but you get a few more points in your day. Ergo, you may be counting points for the rest of your life. Ugh.
Carol....I checked out that WoodyBands link, and have to ask: how do you use those to do pull ups? I can't say I blame you for switching to Eion this week. He's just that good. His PY4H2 comes available for sale on Monday, I believe. I'll be buying it.
Debra....I'm sorry XDH is being such a cow. Once lawyers become involved, divorces get so nasty. I hope you find your equilibrium soon.
Nicole....Well, finally some good news to come your way! I'm glad the knee problem resolved so quickly. You asked about the craft classes the other day: we took a break over the holidays, but started going again this week. Both kids enjoy it so much. I'm sure you're only joking when you talk about how my efforts to kill time make you feel guilty. I spend most of my day fighting boredom. Even when I was 2, I didn't enjoy playing 2 year old games! Poor DD. I try, but I just get bored so quickly.
You're all going to think I'm completely crazy when I tell you that I've decided to finish Round 2! My elbow is feeling significantly better. There are light aches/twinges, but I think if I stay vigilant about my form and make accomodations for the joint when it starts to flare up, I should be able to get through the next 4 weeks. This recovery week has been great for letting me recover mentally as well as physically. I've been struggling to find a rotation that I actually want to do. Like I said before, it's been tough living in my skull this week. My problem, I know, is food, not exercise. So, I've decided to take these next four weeks, and stringently follow phase 3 of the P90X eating plan. This week I'm going to follow their actually meal plan. If that goes over well, I'll repeat the week 3 more times. If it doesn't, I'll have to use their block plan and decide my own meals. I can commit myself to a mere 4 weeks. The time will go by, so I might as well make the best of it!
Okay, those are my plans. I promise not to change them again. Well, for the next 24 hours at least
I'm half-asleep, and need to get some sleep. See you on Solomn Sunday!
