Xers......Celebration Wednesday....An old friend is back!

RE: Xers......Celebration Wednesday....An old friend is...

Hi all,

I was just sitting and reading everyone's comments and resting after another mentally challenging day at work. Everyone should be thankful that they don't have a really disabled child.

I'm going out on a limb and posting my food intake so far today. It is in stark contrast to Lea's healthy stuff. Maybe some of you will get a chuckle.

2 cups coffee with skim milk

1/2 tbl flax oil, (I think it may be bad, but I'm not sick yet)

20 oz skim milk with homemade chocolate mix (sugar & cocoa)

1 cup leftover green salad with a tiny bit of salmon

1 turkey burger (I'm running out of ideas for protein and I can't skip it and expect to lift heavy this afternoon)

1 zone bar

1/2 cup of coffee with skim milk

Estimates so far; Protein ~65g, carbs~70g, fat~20g

Planned dinner: Salad with tilapia, add 20g protein and 15 carbs

Snacking: ~25g carbs, 5g fat.

The numbers never look that great.

Off to workout.

Tracy

RE: Xers......Celebration Wednesday....An old friend is...

Tracy- I don't know if you have any food issues/aversions, but I was trying to get at least 180 gm of protein in before. I would mix up my protein source and alternate between protein shakes/chicken breast/shrimp (from the freezer)/turkey cutlets/turkey burgers/orange roughy/flounder/tilapia/scallops (from the freezer)/cottage cheese. I used a different one for each meal and rotated.

Hi everyone! How are you all doing?

Before I get into things, I just want to clarify that I did NOT take all these kids grocery shopping with me today! My goodness, no!!! DH and I took our two plus the overnight guest shopping with us last night, after dinner at Swiss Chalet. Even IF I had room in my vehicle for 5 children, where would I put the groceries? I'd have to strap someone to the roof.

Question: How often do you have guests for dinner at your house, or be a guest for dinner at someone else's house?

So, what's been going on around here while my back was turned? Let's see...........

JeanetteX - Nice improvement in your golf game!! So, did the Prison Priest have any good jokes for you? Something about a cyclist, a runner, and a monkey walking into a coffee shop? If you think a winter where you might have to fire up a woodstove occasionally sounds dreadful to me, then you're forgetting where I live! I haven't worn shorts in three weeks, the leaves are turning yellow, and I'm planning to make pumpkin pie in the next week or two. I don't blame you for your reaction yesterday to the dental person. Pain hurts. I swear like a sailor every time I bump my head. It ticks me off huge, I don't know why.

TraciX - What is this magazine deadline you spoke of yesterday? What magazine? Do I really get out more than you do? Only because the kids drive me to it, LOL. I'm thinking DebraX has the crown for social-diva on this list. She's always got a play date planned, even when DD is in school!

Teddygirl - D'OH!!!!!! Until JeanetteX said that about your screen name, I never clued in. I just always thought you collected teddy bears or something. My goodness, you really wore out your teddy bear the other night, didn't you? And had a blast shopping, too. When do you leave for Virginia?

LaurieXX - Was it JeanetteX who explained your screen name: love nascar? I never figured that out. Boy, I'm slow. And frankly, I don't picture you being a car racing fan. Are you? Or does Nascar refer to something else that I don't know about?

WendyX - Belated Happy Birthday to your son. How frequently is he able to contact you? Do you know how he's doing? Educate the girls at home until college!! Wow! Do you think that at some point they will ask to go to a school, just so they can socialize (meaning: meet boys)?

LeaX - (how nice to write that!). On the project I was trying to delegate the other day: I was hoping someone would figure out how and where we could set up a real-time chat. Could you get on that? :p :p I am wearing my Xer shirt as I type. As well as the great design on the shirt, I really like the fabric and the fit. Interesting book title you told me yesterday. I've never heard of it. Sadly, even though I'm vegan, I'm no SB. I do still eat dairy in my baked goods, but that's it. Maybe one day I'll get those out of my diet, too, but small steps, small steps. How do you make almond milk?

NicoleX - I completely forgot about bringing the camera yesterday, which I regret because DD#2 had her first pony ride. I would have liked a picture of that. Honestly, I'm not attempting to avoid photographs; I just don't photograph nearly as pretty as I think I am :) I'm always disappointed at what I see in the pics, and think, "I look better than that. The lighting was bad. I'll find another one that's better and post that." And then they all look like that. Believe it or not, I'm not the perfectionist I used to be :)

DebraX - Do you mind if I ask whether you've told DD that you and her father are seperating? How did she take it? I would think that would be quite a difficult thing to have to tell kids. Yes, my older DD starts back on Tuesday of next week. At the start of the summer I was rather worried about how we were going to stay busy for 9 weeks, and now I'm sitting here wondering where the heck the last 9 weeks have gone!

Okay, that catches me up from yesterday. I'll have to come back in a bit and catch up with today's posts. It took me 5 hours just to get this one done. Oy.

BBS,
SandraX

Sorry girls:( I am so consumed with writing this paper on nutrition and fitness for my sister that I haven't even made dinner for my family let alone check-in. I promise to have this done by tomorrow and then you will once again have my full attention:) Maybe I'll keep this paper around and use it for a term paper when I go back to school to be an RD:)

RE: Xers......Celebration Wednesday....An old friend is...

Realized tonight that I don't own DM! Instead of DM cardio leg blast, I used BC's cardio & lower body premix minus stretch plus Cardio Fusion's DM cardio drills and stretch.

I'm tired. No time to edit if I'm ever going to get through today's personals.

Called Jenn at work today. Woke her up from a mid-day nap. Bad girl!!!! She's still alive. :)

OH! You would never believe this. Well, maybe you will. You know how terrible I am with doing the paperwork for a legal car. These past couple of weeks, I've been driving around thinking how nice it is to not worry about being pulled over for an expired registration or inspection sticker. I was so proud of myself for being an adult! Then while organizing the schoolroom, I notice a divers license renewal form. YEP! That's right! It expired on my birthday! Two weeks ago!!!!!!!!! Gotta get that renewed sometime this week. sigh

Tracy-X: You never fail to impress me with your workouts. Great job! CTX is so expensive. It makes the workout blender more tempting. LOL at the hole in the kitchen ceiling. Yep! I've felt the same pain. I have to keep reminding myself that Phil is only one man with a full time, labor intensive job. Then again, I have my moments when I can't take it anymore. At least, I have a working dishwasher, sink, garbage disposal, cooktop and oven again! No more microwave cooking!:) He's so close to finishing. I'm afraid he'll think he can take his time. Hey! I'd chose New Zealand over new cabinets any day! It's a comfort to run with dogs. Baby might not look scary, but she'll bear her teeth and stand in front of me when Phil tries to pretend to hit me. He gets a kick out of seeing her all protective. It gets on my nerves. I hope she bites him for it one day! }(

Traci-X: It's already a given that all my dc will one day need therapy on account of me. At least, I'll know eldest dd will get her $ worth.}( OMW! A thought... I wonder if the repressed kindergarten anguish caused dd to subconsciously dial 9-1-1!!! :7 :7 :7 Do you give your friend homework for the rest of the week? Come on! Put her to work! She's your poster girl!!! Baby can't stand lightening either. You're a good mom. I just tell her to stop when she climbs all over me and pants heavy. Hey, it works for dh!}( Oooo. Don't you remember when I had spine DOMS from Core Synergistics? I came here and asked if that was normal. LOLOL Y'all said it was a good thing. I think it was a lie!:p ;) My sleep schedule is all messed up. Since I started a rotation, hopefully my sleep cycle will settle into a nice routine. Nice to know your mother wants to know where her precious dd is. ;-) It's usually the other way around here. I'm always asking where is my mother! She's usually out playing with other Crazy Asians!!!!:7

Annointed TG: I'm jealous! Not so much of your shopping trip though. I wish I could wear capris without looking like dwarf! Have fun getting ready for your trip! Will Ted be joining you in Virgina?

Jeanette-X: You can always find me with a cup of java in my hand. Just look at the RT pics! Cindy (Retrofit) took a picture of me right before Sunday's KB class holding a large DDcoffee. Cathe even commented about it. LOL I tell you. I could use a continuous drip of that stuff as it takes me all day to finish a cup. Phil's calls it my security blanket.:7

Amy-X: It's so good to see you here!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to go on the pill just to regulate your cycles. Hopefully, you can find a solution to end those long, agonizing cycles!!! Pluzzee! You're the one who rocks! You went through Round 1 basically on your own! We'll help push you to finish Round 2! Nicole is really good at cracking the whip!;-) I ordered Eion Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness from Amazon. I got Shiva Shakti or Shatki (whatever) from Borders in Harrisburg. Personally, I like Eion more than Shiva. I have a hard time following her verbal instructions. I'm taking a couple of beginner yoga classes to check my form. I don't have the other yoga dvds I see mentioned here. I'm thinking of going to a power yoga studio on the mainline for a few more classes before ordering anymore yoga dvds. OH! NO! I totally forgot that I have to call them about my EZPass violation!!! Thanks for reminding me! How much did they charge you? Did your picture of us Xers striking the X-pose turn out nice? If so, can you put it up on your picturetrail too. I'll be able to download it from there. I loved the picture of you looking out the school bus window with a smile! You and dh are so sweet and generous! Thank you!!!!:*

Cheryl: how would one go about finding a bioidentical practitioner? I might need one in a few years.

Amy: I actually lost weight during the RT. Then I put it all back on the following weeks.x( School is going smoothly. No pressure *yet*. Eldest dd shocked me with scoring a grade and half higher on her diagnostic spelling test. If I can stay consistent, everything will be alright.:) About my earlier post venting about the OD post... I really shouldn't judge cuz we all know I can be just as sarcastic and vengeful and hateful as the worst of them. Since I thankfully didn't read the deleted posts, I'll give her credit for not realizing that she might have offended. That's about all. Her response to SNM was plain childish! That's all I've got to say.

Laurie-XX: Brag on!!!!:) It's so nice to hear good news about our next generation! She must get her stamina from you, our double Xer! Let me guess. Dh did dd's hair!:p }( ;)

OH MY! I just caught Baby chewing gum!!!!! She swallowed it before I could take it away from her! Note to self: Make kids clean up any gum related vomit in the morning!

Lea-X: Guess what! I graduated while you were away. I'm an Xer now!!!!:) :) GS and S&H combo! I'm getting acquainted with these now I'm post-X. LOL about Tony. I'm sure he landed like a cat! Nope. No more kids while you were away. Um, Didn't you ever hear the saying: If you don't want to hear the answer, don't ask the question.}( ;) Raw must be working wonders for you. Your new avatar picture looks awesome!

Sandra-X: Oh, come on! Shopping with 6 kids can't be all that bad! Not that I'd ever know. I'm not that brave!!!! 4 is my limit. QOD: Since the kitchen remodel, we've had ZERO guests! Prior to the kitchen remodel, I'd say an average to once every other month. We have dinner out with friends about once every other month. It goes in spurts. There would be times when it was weekly. I used to host a neighborhood tea party. My neighbor hosts the cookouts and pool parties over the summer. I haven't gone to many as the chlorine reeks havoc on my lovely ::cough, cough:: natural, brown hair.:7 Ds is not able to contact us yet. He did send me the standard postcard stating that he arrived. If we need to contact him in the case of death or illness, we have to go through the Red Cross!!!! For next month, he has less rights than prisoners! LOL He'll be allowed to write us next week with his expected graduation date and address. Now, Sandra. Don't you know that I keep my girls locked up in the attic after they finish their schoolwork. }(;-) Seriously, if you really would like to know my thoughts on socialization and dating (we're promoting the courtship idea in our home), you can PM me.

Debra-X: Hope you are having a good day! I've been praying for you.

Jenn: Put your game face on and wake up! I expect to see you tomorrow!!!!

Carol: Where you at? CHOP? Museum? Zoo? Vets? I hope you're taking time for yourself and still pushing play!

Nicole: How was yoga? I'm doing yoga without Phil tomorrow. I think the instructor might be sad!!!:p }(

Well, I'm still tired. Phil informs me that the dishwasher works great. Yep! He did the dishes tonight! He's not the saint y'all think he is!!! He never once stooped over the bath tub to wash those suckers by hand! But, he did make dinner tonight. So, I think I'll keep him.

Sweet Dreams!
Wendy

RE: Xers......Celebration Wednesday....An old friend is...

Jeanette-X: Just in case I don't make it on here early in the morning, I almost forgot to send you ~~~~~~~Happy Hill Climbing Vibes!~~~~~~~. May the wind be on your back!:)

Love Ya!
Wendy

Anyone: I could use a sub for SJ&P All 4 Hi/Lo Only Premix. Please, for the love of all that is precious to me (air), don't let it be a combo of IMax and MIC.

Ach. Not going to make it back tonight. It's my bedtime kiddos. Back in the morning.

WendyX - Did I ever send you my email address to send me your extra thoughts on the road trip? I vaguely recall doing so a few days ago. Did you get it?

SandraX

WendyX, Did you get my sub suggestions for the PS & CTX? I sure hope so:) For SJ&P you could sub IMAX 2 or 3 "Blasts Only" Premix or C&W "Timesaver Step" Premix. There is also the LM "Blasts Only" Premix. Hope that helps,

Nicole

Good evening,
Here I am drinking coffee again tonite, pushing my luck because I had no problem getting to sleep last night.

Hi Swifty, wow, 60 days inbetween periods. Has it always been like this? Mine are tending to get closer together and I'll be 49 in November. So sorry you have to suffer through the bloatedness, etc. Wish I could give some advice. Did you enjoy the movie? I really like Matt Damon. Have you tried ordering DVD's from DeepDiscount? I have Eoin Finn's Power Yoga For Happiness (like it a lot), Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti (beautiful DVD), some Baron Baptiste the Debra gave me and Brian Kest Power Yoga (very good). I also have a Yoga with Karen Voit that is good too.

Cheryl, hope you enjoyed the rest day. My yoga today felt like a rest for me. Did get a walk in on my lunch hour, but a pretty light day for me.

Amy, congrats on the 2.5 lbs, even if it is water weight, at least it's downward. I hate water weight.

Laurie, the heat must have been dreadful for the track meet, but your DD must really be tough, tough!!! Some people just tolerate heat better than others. I had an episode on a century last year that was really hot and I started to feel chilled while riding. Good thing I was near a rest area and doused my whole head with water. My BIL gets pretty sick with the heat. I feel like my DH and I are like your parents, always on the move. Think my poor DD gets a bit exasperated that Grandma and Grandpa aren't home more. 80's in the office? I get really cranky when it gets too warm. My last 2 positions here at the prison have had excellent A/C. I worked in Preventive Maintenance for 10 years so kind of understand the air handler stuff. Now I work with the Prison Priest LOL! Who is your favorite Nascar driver? Mike Skinner is from our town. Not sure if he's driving Nascar any more. I like Mark Martin and keep hoping he'll get a win. My DH likes to watch. Lately we've been busy on Sundays so haven't watched. Today I did yoga and I'll bet the last time I did it was in January when I finished P90X. Bad me.

Lea, have I told you how happy I am that you're back????? ((((hugs))))! My eyes went right to the words "chocolate", "almond", "berries", "cacao" in your menu. Yum! My menu is so boring, but I did indulge in a piece of Dove Dark Chocolate. I love that stuff.

Sandra, we probably have guests (family mostly) over maybe once a month or more. Usually, it's our kids or my parents. So sorry that the weather is turning cooler for you. I do love the fall, though the colors won't be changed until mid-October. I think it holds the best bike riding for me. Mmmmm, pumpkin pie. I was over at Mom's tonite and she had 4 loaves of zucchini bread coming out of the oven. Thank goodness she didn't offer me any. I even turned down the glass of wine she offered too. I wanted to swear a bit after some of my drives yesterday, but couldn't with the presence of the Prison Priest. We may go hit some balls on Monday evening. My tooth is feeling fine today, can't believe how the pain of being zinged lingers. Wish they would use wooden instruments. I never used to be anxious at the dentist, but now I find myself dreading my appointments. Sorry you didn't get a picture of your DD's pony ride. Did she love it??? So many little girls just love the horses from the start. A friend of mine brought over a really nice dark, dark bay gelding yesterday. I fell in love again, gosh, I have way too many interests.

Nicole, hope you can get that paper done. We'll be here waiting. Did you get your yoga in today?

Wendy, LOL about you not owning DM. Your earlier post indicated that you were dreading it. Are you relieved now? CTX is expensive, but I think it is really, really good. The cardio is intense, but short. It was one of the first ones I got so I kind of think of it as my beginner workout. However, when I do it, I'm always so surprised at how tough it is for me. LOL re: Phil pretending to hit you and Baby protecting you. We do the same thing at our house, however, our current dogs are chickens and don't get into the defending thing too much. Believe me, if something really happened where I would need protection, it would not be there, not from these dogs anyways. I've been back on the coffee lately in the evening. I went to my sister's the other night and she had some wonderful coffee. Found out that I've been making it too weak. I boosted the amount and now it tastes like hers. I drink it with Splenda and fat free 1/2 & 1/2. How could 1/2 & 1/2 not have fat? I can't figure that one out. Did you get to talk to your son? Bet you miss him... That Phil is a saint for sure, washing dishes. Bet I can count on 2 hands the times my DH has washed the dishes. He's been doing all the watering here lately so I won't complain. I was going to do some housework tonite, but didn't do any at all. Just napped a bit, ate dinner, hit some wiffle balls in the front yard and now am holding down this computer chair. Thanks for the good wishes for the hill climb tomorrow. Think this will be my last tough competition of the year so I'd better try my hardest. There will be another lady there too, so I'll be motivated to finish in front of her.

Got to go now, no more coffee for me as 4:00 a.m. is 6 hours away.

Jeanette
