WW's AUGUST: Week of Aug. 29th

Slowly trying to find my mojo. Being away on vacation made me realize, well reinforce that the problem in my life is not me, it's my job which causing way too much stress, fatigue and the hours are leaving me with no time to enjoy even the simple things in life. I dont have a job lined up, so I'll have to sit tight for awhile and grin and bear it, financially I cant afford to just quit right now. I'm even strongly considering going back to school.

As for now....weight today is 130.6.

My simplistic goal for today is to just do some sort of workout, same with tomorrow. I start back to work on Wednesday and then work 7 days in a row (including the holiday weekend).

While on vacation, my husband also voiced an interest in getting back into shape and eating better which will help me immensely. He actually used to do triathlons and bike racing eons ago (before we even met) so fitness is in him somewhere!

I was worried you were leaving us from your last post.. good to see your sticking with us! great that hubs is on board...that must be fun..my hus lasted 1 day

My weight is also a pitb...I seriously have to track my points...i am usually good until supper comes around...this weekend i had the munchies and today the scale was 130.4... not liking that at all..but i did 2 sts weight workouts yesterday... hope it gets better tomorrow!

I actually was close to leaving the group because it just seemed like one more thing to have to do for the day, and having nothing motivational to post just was getting me down and I didnt want to be a negative influence on anyone here. However, I know that I have to do things that I enjoy and being part of this group is one of them. I think I am putting too much strain on myself to post something great here everyday. Right now, just reading everyone's posts and being in the fitness realm is keeping me grounded, and that's what I need right now. I may not be counting points or writing down my daily menus but I need this group to keep my sanity! So if you can put up with me, I'll be stickin' around!

I love checkin in even though i really don't count the points(mmm maybe thats why my scale is broken??)

Just had a great salad for lunch..added the flavored tuna, Jalepenos, balsamic and evoo..has a little kick to it!
still haven't decided what exercise to do yet..

I am hope you stick around as much as you can. I can relate to above statement, but maybe that is what helps us keep up w/ our food and work outs. Right now my current check-in thought bubble is "Gee, I hope I get a workout in today and avoid point binges".
LOL, you have my permission to check in w/o painting any pollyanna pics (but if you do, we will cheer for you).

So my goal for today was going to be IMAX2, but might be Furious Floor Clean1 followed by Bootcamp House declutter since my besties are dropping by tonight. Which leads me to dinner and drinks w/ the girls are not good for my weigh ins! Or early mornings. but good for the soul. whoop!

Steph, Evooo on your salad? what is that? I can't even think?

Hi Wiggie and Barb. I am too tired to scrool to other thread, but I think Barb has a weigh in day and Wiggie is pretty much kicking a** and taking names. Wendy is hopefully home safe and sound.

I'm hope and the weather today is cooler for a change so I decided to make some homemade soup! No specific recipe but threw in chicken, diced red peppers, diced sweet potatoes, kale, onion and celery, put in chicken broth, some fat free half-n-half and for some added thickness, shredded up a regular potato. I love experimenting with soups. I wish my hubby liked more veggies b/c I probably wouldve thrown in some green beans and/or cauliflower but this is a start! My allergies are driving me nuts today and I have a bit of a headache and a stuffy nose, so took some allergy meds and now I"m a bit on the groggy side. If I get my workout in great, if not, I wont beat myself up over it. I've been working thru a book on career changes etc today and actually writing down the things they're suggesting, sort of a soul searching mission, so that in and of itself has been a mental workout if I dont get in the physical workout.

Rocked my work outs today...Cardio core circuit, Ball workout from S90 and 45 min walk after supper...If working out alone could make you lose weight i would be a toothpick!
 
Yesterday I subbed All Step for IMAX2-- I knew that if I skipped it or only did part of it I'd feel like a failure so I went with a shorter w/o to completion and with intensity. I used 2 risers, my knee feels a little wonky now.

food turned out to be
Greek Yogurt and thawed frozen fruit
almonds
protein shake
Then I made for besties and me
manwiches, organic french bread hamburger rolls (I was shopping at Greenwise, so that added and elegant touch to the goofy meal) with low fat shredded cheddar.
Salad w/ avocado, chick peas, tomato, etc, and red wine vin and EVOO ; )
Grapes and raspberries
Chianti

completion of w/o when pressed for time and total lack of snackage other than fruit makes this such a big success for me. No guilt or wt gain this morning. : )
Great time w/ the dance besties, we were literally rolling on the floor laughing together.

Barb congrats on loss! I wish all a lovely day.

My workout yesterday was Rhythmic Step, but it was cut short by the storm. I'm staying within my point limit but not seeing much change. I'm doing Meso 2 right now. I have noticed I don't lose right away when I lift heavy. But I'm not going to quit, when I get the new workouts I'll just work them in.

Hy wiggie..didn't know you were STSing..i am on my last week of meso 1 (i am trying to do it 6xweek) no weight loss but as you know my scale is faulty;) I like it but holy moly does everything change fast and sooo much equipement. It looks like a gym exploded in my living room or kitchen depending where i do it!
I was seriosly hoping that it would get better weight wise in meso 2:( where are you exactly?

On a weight note the scale is still broken...i am just finishing my super salad: EVOO, balsamic, red pepper, romaine, zucchini and flax...I don't know if you have ever tried adding flax to your salad guys but give it a shot . The ground flax when added to your dressing makes it creamy and rich and its supposed to be good for us!

Hi Steph, my scale is broken too!! My place looks the same way when I do Meso 1. I should have started with you. I started in meso 2 & I am on the second disc. I asked Cathe a question about lifting heavy when you have big legs, she said as long as you eat well it could help slim them, so that's why I started in meso 2. I love this phase, maybe it's the long rests. I am actually tired near the end.

Ground flax in your salad dressing, good idea!! I've added it to oatmeal, couldn't think of anything else.

Haven't decided on my workout yet, though I know it will be cardio.

How do you get smiley faces in the middle of your posts?
 
Hello Ladies.

Ended up driving straight through from 8:30am y'day and got home around 3am this morning and dropping my MIL off at home and returning the rental car. Passed out in bed until 9:30 and have been trying to get things in order for "life as usual" and the return to work tmrw...food shopping, cleaning, laundry and my work out for today which is ytbd!

Had a fantastic vacation and after day 2 I stopped worrying about what i ate and just enjoyed. Got 5 BR style work outs in and came home to find out I gained only .6#!!!! Very happy about that! Now it's time to jump right back in the game though! Had a turkey sandwich and cherries for lunch! :)

K, that's all for now but I'll be back from work tmrw!

Wendy glad to see that you got home safe and sound. And only .6 is great. Must of been all the walking you did.

Hey yall, Remember when we were talking about scale and wt training? This is from the newsletter-->

When you combine weight training with aerobic exercise, the bathroom scale is not an accurate reflection of how lean you are.
**When you weight train, your muscles hold on to water**, and after a period of time you gain lean body mass as you add more muscle.

So, something else to keep in mind before getting too worried about a scale number if otherwise you are feeling positive changes in your body and eating well. I love the scientific aspects of fitness.

Wiggie: i just clic on the happy face after my word or sentence:)

Faith: I know, all that muscle takes up less space and uses more water and glycogon(?) and thats why the scale doesn't move but our clothes fit better....problem is..my clothes don't fit better yet:eek:

Wendy: happy to hear the body rocker is safe and sound back home and still has a rockin body:D

Well yesterday i ended up doing : sts chest (i hate workoing my chest out..much prefer back) and turbo fire 25 hiit (my fave) followed by a really long stretch.
Today the plan is plyo legs (i do 1 leg workout that follows the sts model week and the other is usually a plyo so it counts as a cardio) and/or bob harper ripped core we shall see:p

Yesterday i totally didn't cheat or even snack at night...hopefully this will help fix my faulty scale;)

Good morning everyone. Today's workout was CLX Push Circuit 2, Turbo Fire HiiT 15, and Turbo Fire Abs 10 class. What a killer abs workout that was. I had to take a few breaks. My abs is my weakness.

Tough workout Wendy!!!
 
Today's "workout" for me was standing on my feet for 12 hours at work, not eating lunch, snacking on Cheezits later in the day and having Tylenol for "dessert" for my stress-induced headache. Welcome back to work!
 
Stacy, white cheddar cheezits are like crack to me. If you only "snacked" on them, I consider that a success. If you are going to count tylenol as a dessert, please crush it up and eat it in chocolate pudding or at least pour fudge sauce on it.

Flax and salad dressing, great idea. I often put it in my smoothies. (flax, not salad dressing)

Yesterday PUB abs + chest. I hoped to get more done, but it didn't make the priority list. Today will be more upper bod. Giving knee a break.

HB egg, tomatoes
banana
yogurt
Got home at 10 pm and had all this just before bed -->
fried chicken breast (just the chunks of white meat,most of skin discarded)
3 granola bars at 4 pts each
2 hands full of cheetos
1 glass of wine
Get up this morning and scale is down 1 pound from yesterday?? Maybe the late nite binge is still transforming itself into fat and it will show up tomorrow.
