Would anyone be interested in a "healthy eating check-in"?

Hello there!

I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in a healthy eating check-in. My eating has gone by the wayside since having kids and I am making a concerted effort to eat better. By this I mean, more veggies, fruits, pulses, lean meat and lean dairy, rather than more processed types of foods (eg muffins, cookies and the like), and excess sugar and saturated fat. I'm trying to incorporate these foods back into my diet in the most delicious way possible.

I would like to lose some weight, but I would rather focus on eating well and getting regular exercise rather than going the deprivation route.

Would anyone else like to join me and checkin approximately once a week.

Thanks,
Liz n

Sure Liz...I have recently became a vegetarian as my diet was TERRIBLE and I needed to loose weight. It was hard to cut out the crap but so far...so good....I'll check in with you....:)...Carole

Count me in! My eating hasn't been totally terrible but it does need a little fix'in. I know thats why I am not seeing results with my workouts anymore.I also thought that my calories were in its range until I started counting them the other day.I was amazed at how fast 1200 cals added up.
When will we start? I already had a piece of a cookie todayx(

I'm in! I've definitely found clean eating the biggest challenge! I've found the "Eat to Live" book by Dr. Fuhram helpful in setting goals. I haven't followed it in the strictest sense, but its helped me realize how much more fruit and veggies I could have been eating all along!

Are we just going to keep replying to this email as a check-in? There's a beginner's check-in in the Success Stories forum - we could create one there...

future fitness dynamo....I have followed Dr Fuhrmans diet in the strict sense for the last 6 weeks along with P90X and Cathe for some great results!! This check in should be fun...:)...Carole

Count me in also, please! I think this will be so helpful to me right now. By the way, Carole- for a healthy snack, check out Genisoy Deep Sea Salted Soy Chips- delicious, low cal, good ingredients :) Also, Stacy's White Cheddar Soy Chips are delicious, but I must avoid them since I tend to devour the whole bag in one sitting

I would like to join in if that is ok. I have the exercise part down....but really need some accountability with the diet part.
I am almost 45, have worked out for 22 years at home. I do my tapes at least 5 days a week, cardio + strength training and also take a pilates class 3 X a week, use strength training machines at the gym. But, still cant seem to lose 10 to 15 pounds. So, I KNOW it has to be my diet.

Where is the check in? Thanks.

I actually bought the book. My diet's been crap since I injured my knees. And I managed to gain 3# in only 10 days. Well, I did eat a lot of full fat ice cream when I had this sore throat for a week. Helped for the throat and of course I was feeling very sorry for myself.

What I've read sofar in the book shouldn't be too hard for me. I'm not much of a meat eater as it is, no beef or porc. The occasional fish, chicken and turkey.

I just have to eat more beans, cut out the olive oil, incorporate more tofu and soy milk, up the fruit and in general start eating greens for lunch instead of a sandwhich. Should be doable. Except for the coffee bit and the full fat creamy but plain (!) yoghurt I always have for breakfast. Don't know if I can manage live without these two. So a check-in might help as it makes me more accountable.

BTW need to loose the same old 10#

Hi there

I too would be interested in this check-in. I have to start eating cleaning because I just found out I have celiac disease. This will really put a crimp in eating processed foods.x( I have to be good now.I have never joined a check in before but maybe this would help.:7

RE: Would anyone be interested in a

I'd love to join! My eating has just been horrible lately and I need to get back on track. I don't need to lose any weight, but all I do is reach for a doughnut here or a handful of chips there...It may not add up to a ton of calories, but I am getting a big fat ZERO in the nutrition department and my body feels just lousy on some days. I exercise with beloved Cathe 6x/week, but that doesn't mean I can let the eating part of the fitness equation slide. Just tell me when and where, and I'll be there!

RE: Would anyone be interested in a

Dutchie...I still have my coffee in the morning....although I have cut from 2 cups to just one...12 oz!!....I also eat half a balance bar before my workout as fruit just wasn't enough for me. I think you have the concept of the diet down. If you are fairly strict, trust me...you will loose the weight especially doing P90X!....:)...Carole

Gina....you are killing me with these tasty snacks!!!.... :D ...just kidding...thanks!...as you are already a vegetarian...I might ask for a bit of help sometimes...:)...Carole

Hello ladies,

I reckon we could check in once a week, say on Mondays or what ever day suits you.

I've had a really good start to my improved dietary intake - I came down with a major case of diarrhea/food poisoning (must have been from all those unhealthy foods!) and have eaten nothing but water , gatorade and dry toast for the last three days :)

See you next week!

Are we still on? I think it would be a good idea if we had a check in everyday. It would be nice, just in case someone was having a hard day (of course it wouldn't be me;) )It is also great for motivation.Everyone doesn't have to check in everyday but if you are here everyday and you have the time...why not?
Just my 2 cents.
