Workouts when you're short on time.

What Cathe workouts/premixes do you do when you're really short on time?

Today was a cardio day and I had only about 25 min., so I did 250 kettlebell swings and the Kickmax intensity drills + stretch. Wednesday was the same story, so I did Imax3 blast only premix with warmup & cooldown.

I'd love to hear ideas for cardio or weight days. As scared as I am of STS Cardio HIIT Training, I'll be glad for the short workouts (providing I live through them).

Hands down....the Timesaver Cardio from BM2. Just simply dirty and sweaty. I also sometimes do the warm-up from KickMax and then the blasts through once, somtimes twice. That's a good one!

When I'm short on time I like to do the premixes that are around 30 to 40 minutes long. Not sure what all DVDs you have, but if you have Cross Train Series, all of the cardio portions are about 30 minutes long. Same with the 4 Day Split Series. Also Step, Jump and Pump has a premix where you can do the step portion or the hi/lo section separately and that's about 30 minutes long. In Cardio & Weights you can do the step portion only. Also, I like to do the Boot Camp cardio portion only (this is the circuit workout from the Intensity Series, not 4 Day Split Boot Camp) -- it's not very long, so I do it 2 or 3 times back-to-back, or I add it on to a treadmill run. Also if you have the Timesaver DVD from the Body Blast Series, the cardio portions are about 30 minutes long (they are shorter versions of Kick Punch and Crunch, Step Blast, Step, Jump & Pump, etc.).

Those are some of the ones I like to do when I'm short on time -- hope this helps!

I wanted to add one more thing (after I posted my last message, I see where you were asking about weight workouts as well). When I'm short on time with weight work and don't have time to do lengthy workout, I do Cathe's workouts by splitting them up, maybe upper body one day and lower the next. Or I might split them up into three days. If I have a week or two where I really just don't have much time at all, I do one body part a day (like CTX). A good number of Cathe's weight workouts have either premixes that will allow you to split them up like this, or chaptered where you can break them up how you wish. A couple of my favorites are Muscle Endurance and Muscle Max -- I can split them up by doing upper one day and lower the next -- that saves on time.

Anyhow -- hope this also helps! Julie

For weight work, aren't there upper+lower body ONLY (no cardio or core) premixes on HSTA (which has no core work period) and the original Boot Camp? I think there are, and these would be very time-efficient!
