Workout Warriors Feb 14th - 20th

This morning was Disk 6 Legs - the workout the keeps on giving. Or at least it always has, so I'm anticipating a fair amount of DOMS tomorrow. Given that I'm only in Meso 1, my weights seem really high and potentially scary as the percentages increase.

Regina the Planetarium was good. The show was called "Follow the Drinking Gourd" and told the story of how the slaves from Alabama and Mississippi had a song that contained the directions to get them north to Canada and they followed the stars, in particular the big dipper to get there. They also do a segment every time on what the night sky currently looks like and at the end ask the kids what extra things they want to see. The guy doing the classes has done it for years and he and the kids have really good rapport, so it's fun for everyone.

I'm thinking you and Kimberly should put your husbands in touch with each other and then Kimberly's husband can convince your husband to go on the road trip. :D No matter what we tell them, hearing from another guy that it's a fun thing to do tends to carry more weight.

Boys have haircuts today. One who is shaggy and needs it, and the other who always wants to just get buzzed really short and his hair still isn't an inch long. Derek had wanted his trimmed a bit, but after someone referred to him as Nick's sister last week (an adult who didn't know him, so not like it was someone teasing him), he's wanting a bit more than just a trim. :p

Hi Warriors!

My sincere apologies for being MIA. It has been a tough, tough week or so at work...its healthcare renewal time and we had a horrible year claims wise as a group and are being slaughtered by the insurance companies. I have a huge dilemma to figure out....how in the world do we absorb the insane price increase in the plan and still keep health insurance even in the vicinity of barely affordable and the benefits actually useful? Needless to say, its kicking my a** and its been killing my workouts. Only been playing tennis this week, until this morning when I finally got back on the treadmill and did my C25k workout. My only plan for the weekend is to get my workouts back on track.

Anyway, will make sure I catch up on the thread for the week to see how everyone is doing. I hope you are all doing well. Be back later this weekend.

I was up at 5:30 and did Butts & Guts. Tonight is supposed to be High Step Training. I would never say I hate a Cathe workout....but I am not fond of all the leg presses in High Step Training. I don't mind the actual work, but it gets boring doing so many sets of them. I've said it before and I'll say it again, that Feb. rotation is brutal on the legs. Only five more days and I'm done! I won't have done the whole 4 weeks, only a little over 3, but I only originally planned to follow the rotation up until vacation. Don't know what I'll do after that. Maybe Supreme 90 if I get it in time.

Checking in on behalf of Janis (not that she asked me to!) - she's had a power outage when they were buried under a foot and a half of snow, so she's MIA too at the moment. Even with that, she lifted STS Back and Biceps using her workout card. Gotta love Cathe and admire Janis' dedication (and absolute refusal to make up her own workouts!) She'll tell you more, I'm sure, but can you imagine how much fun Rowan is having with that snow?

Janis I hope you have your power back! and major kudos for working out without it. :D

Yesterday was my rest day and this morning I did BM2 Timesaver Cardio and abs.

Snow is all gone here now thanks to our lovely 40+ degree days, and now.......it's coming back. :( I could live with the snow - it is February in Michigan. But, on top of the snow we are supposed to get up to 1/4" of ice. That much ice can cause a lot of damage and problems. Nick was supposed to have his first day of school tomorrow, but it's sounding like that may not happen. Some of it is supposed to happen overnight and the storm warning goes into tomorrow with predictions of school closings.

Hello All Warriors!

It was a beautiful day here Friday and then Sat is was cold and windy. Spring can not get here soon enough!
DH and I spend the day today gathering together info to do our tax returns. I always have a resolve to get it done in January but never get around to it. Has everyone finished their tax returns?

Janis- I hope that your power is back on.

Kimberly- I am still trying to convince DH to go to the Florida road trip but so far he is still ambivalent. What are you going to do for your next workout rotation?

Cathy-Thanks for the interesting information about the show. I tried to see if 'Following the Drinking Gourd" was going to be shown here but unfortunately it is not.

Workout today- Supreme 90- Back, Chest and this evening- Guns Glutes and Guts
