Workout Room

Jann, I finally posted some pic. of my workout room on Commit to get fit check in ! My workout room doesn't look as nice as yours( yours is awesome!), but at least I have a space to workout in! I wish I could throw some paint on the walls, but I live in government housing ( my DH is in the military) they don't allow bright colors! Thanks for your help! Enjoy your workout room!
 
Belinda - where did you get your rack? Who makes it? It looks kind of like the power tower that Cathe will be putting out - but a bit sturdier. Can you use it as a squat rack?

Maybe I will have to get one like yours if you can let me know what it is!

Mary, are talking about my squat rack (from my pic. at Commit to get fit that I posted )? I bought my squat rack at Wal Mart, it was around $ 99! I lLOVE my squat rack:confused:
 
Yes - the squat rack. That might be a better purchase for me than the power tower if I can use it as a squat rack as well as for STS pullups and for benching. Who is the manufacturer??

Belinda -You have a space to call your own, that's how I started -- looks good to me!! :D

Mary, its Gold's Gym XRS 20! Liann posted a pic. of the squat rack a while back, I loved it so much that I bought one just like hers :Dwhen I was in the U.S in May and shipped it back to Germany:D You will not be disappointed! I am not sure if it will work for STS pullups, but I love it for squating and benching.

Jann, right now my workout room is only temporary, DH is in the military. We are stationed in Germany for another 2 years. One day I have a nice workout room like yous, once the kids move out:p I would love to have TM too:eek:
 
Thanks, Belinda. I see it on the WalMart site WITH the bench (which I don't need)... I'm going to keep looking for it without the bench. Thanks again for all your help!

Speaking of kids moving out, my youngest DS graduated from college on Saturday - :D It is a good/bad feeling when they are all grown up. ;) Enjoy them, the time just goes so fast! :)

Jenn, both my kids are in college! I miss them every day, I was just kidding. It is the first time I am not with them (I worry every day about them), but they both live in our house in Texas. DH an I fly them over to Germany as much as we can. My DS ( 19) and DD (23) are here with us in Grafenwoehr for Christmas:D I am very happy! The kids didn't leave us, we left them,( the Army sent us to Germany) that is was sadden me the most:(
 
Note to self...Go to Lowes to buy mirrors :p.
I drug my DH in to see as well. He's like "what do you need mirrors for?"
To work out naked in front of them.(Seinfeld episode anyone?)....To watch my form that's why, duh

This goes to show how lazy I really am. I have a finished basement and lots of room for a workout sanctuary but I can't get it together to save my life! I work out of a crate in the middle of lots of junk. OK you have inspired me. I'm going to work on it this weekend! Your room rocks!!!!! :D

I'm sorry...didn't read through the entire thread, but can you do the pull ups that Cathe does in STS on your rack?

Tamrahan – Thanks, I have never worked out completely naked :eek:sometimes it is an incentive because of those mirrors just why I am working out. ;)

Sass – I have been working on my space for a couple of years. Adding bits here and there. Its been a lot of fun.

Hi Katie –

I love my floor. It’s not springy, it is more for absorbing impact. It’s the foam used on top of cheerleader’s/ gymnast’s spring boards. I got it from Tiffin. WWW.tiffinmats.com
I only live a couple of hours from the warehouse so I drove up and was able to get remnants. I only wanted a 12x12 foot workout space. It does not move around at all like the puzzle mats did.
I am very happy with it. - good luck! :)
