Workout log for week of Jan 4th

Cathlete
Hi ladies! I didn't post last week b/c I only worked out twice (2nd week in a row) and I just didn't feel too proud of myself. I've had about 4 or 5 weeks throughout this pregnancy where I just couldn't pull myself to do more than 1-2 workouts that week.

Today marks 38th week of pregnancy. Overall I've gained just under 30 pounds (hoped to stick around 25, but oh well), but my overall measurements show inch gain in my breasts & belly only. My thighs, ankles, butt have remained same measurements & I even have lost an inch in my upper arms! Yeah!!! For those of you that haven't done this...I really recommend it. It can be encouraging or a mark of reality to see how your body changes throughout the years. I began doing this about 5 years ago. I didn't do it with my last pregnancy, but hopefully it'll help with the new one.

Many of you might now from another post, my MD says I'm 3 cm dilated & 70% effaced. I don't feel like I'm going to be going into labor anytime this week (I actually think I'll be late)...but who knows! Yesterday afternoon I might have lost my mucous plug. It wasn't blood tinged at all, it just looked like lots of thick milky discharge. Perhaps thats all it was. For the last couple of weeks now I've begun to produce minimal collostrum from my nipples. I cried with joy! I'm going to be a mom again. Then again, I do lots of crying now-a-days with my hormones being all out of wack.

Baby's room is 98% done! Yahoo!!! I cannot tell you how much better this makes me feel. It's such a secure feeling. I had my infant car seat professionally installed last Tuesday. The only thing left is the purchase of a nursing bra. Anyone have one that they absolutely love? I'm just so indifferent. I do have ONE, but I think I should get at least one more. Okay, enough jibberish.

This week was one of my better weeks in a long time, this is what I did:

Sun: Quick Pick--Step & Weights
Mon: off
Tue: Push & Pull
Wed: Quick Pick-- KP&C Cardio Conditioning
Thurs: Quick Pick--KP&C Kicking & Punching
Fri: off
Sat: Cardio & Weights Sections 1-2

Can't wait to see how you ladies did this week! I think it's lots more fun with more ladies. I think at one point we had 6-8 ladies checking in here & it was wonderfully encouraging. Have a great week!

Hi Melanie! You sound like you have been very busy! I just can't believe how close you are! With my first pregnancy, I lost my mucus plug about 2 weeks before I had my son (or so) and I was slowly dilating week by week, too. Any minute now you could go into labor!! :D I think that your 30 pound weight gain is great!! You will get the weight off in no time and you will have a beautiful baby boy to show for it!!!!

Here was my week:
Sun: Imax - Int. 1-5
Mon: CTX All step - cardio
Tues: Push Pull
Wed: Step Blast
Th: off
Fri: off
Sat: Firm Prime Power fat burning (I was feeling lazy, but at least I got some workout in)

I think that Autumn said that she was going to join in with us. I hope to see her! I feel the same way you do, Melanie, the more the merrier! It helps keep me motivated, even if I am not in the mood to workout! ;-) Have a great week girls!

Hi ladies! Oh Melanie it won't be long now. Are you ready? I had mixed emotions the end of my pregnancy... I LOVED being pregnant even in July in Missouri... anyway, I wanted to see and hold my baby but I loved having her all to myself. I know that is selfish but I couldn't help myself. :) Well, I have to admit there was one physical discomfort I was ready to get past... she was soooo low. The last 3 weeks she was a +3 station (anything greater than =3 is visible on the perineum)... so that was a bit uncomfortable.

I am with Sara, that 30 pound weight gain is great!!! Tell me your secrets! :)

Well, I am getting back into the swing of things slooowly. I just got over the debilitating nausea (I still have some), so I thought I would use the CTX series 6 days this week... WRONG... I got a cold and didn't want to take any chances that it hung around too long.

Here was my week
Sun: off
Mon: CTX All Step - cardio
Tues: CTX Power Circuit (Woo Hoo all of it!!)
Wed: off
Thurs: off
Fri: off
Sat:CTX Kickbox - cardio

Hopefully, this week I will get more in. Oh, my abs are begging to work. :) See you next week! Take care!!!

EDD 07/20/04

Autumn, welcome to the workout log. Don't be hard on yourself--that nausea will pass soon & you will begin to get your energy back. The CTX series has been wonderful--I did it lots during this pregnancy.

As far as the baby's position, I am not sure what 'station' I"m in, but I don't think the baby has dropped. I still have trouble breathing& I know you're supposed to be able to breathe better after the baby drops.

I AM READY!!!! I don't want to get to worked up though b/c I know it could be almost 4 more weeks until the baby arrives. I"m convinced I can talk my ob into inducing if baby isn't here by due date though! We'll see. I"m getting really tired & work is exhausting. I barely made it through my 8 hour work day today. I"m so swollen I drop things all time. It's kinda funny.

Oh, my birtday is July 18th. Maybe your baby will be born on my B-day?!

Thanks Melanie!!

I understand about not getting worked up. I am sorry you are feeling so exhausted and having to deal with edema. I hope you have a wonderful labor and delivery, and it happens soon (as long as baby is ready)!

You never know... I might have this baby the 18th. I just hope it isn't July 31st... my daughter's birthday.

Take care and get some rest!

Autumn

Ob Update

28.5 week check-up today. I'm not counting down the days or anything, but EDD is 11 days away! Yippie!! I'm about 4.5 cm dialated now after she stripped the membranes today. OB didn't tell me how effaced I was this time. I don't have any cramping or bleeding & I don't feel any closer to delivery. Yesterday I did a portion of Cathe's kickboxing DVD-- all the hops & all the kicks! Nothing. Can't blame a girl for trying though, right?
Hope all's well with you gals. Talk to you soon.

Hi, guys. I'm a newcomer. Just found out I was pregnant with baby #3. Huge surprise! My husband had a vasectomy in June last year, and the procedure his doctor does (he cuts out a large portion of the tube, ties it, crimps it, and burns it) is so thorough that he has never seen a failed procedure until this week! Lucky me! No, the more I get used to the idea, the more excited I become. I just work so hard on my body, and am not looking forward to the baby belly, and taking time off from my fabulous wardrobe. I'm going to miss all my clothes! Shopping is my hobby. Oh well, my pocketbook can sure use the break from all of this.

I've had so many people tell me that this baby is really meant to be because I had a miscarriage when my youngest was just 10 months old. We were shocked to find out I was pregnant, and it really wasn't a good time because we had just sold our home, were renting while building a new home. As the owner builder, with a 10 month old, and a 3 1/2 year old, we were quite stressed out. It was hard when I lost the baby and we thought long and hard before he went in for his vasectomy. Now, against all odds, it seems as if this little soul is trying to say that he/she is just really meant to be.

Anyway, my workout week was pretty strong, but I'm not even feeling pregnant yet. I get severe morning sickness that lasts from weeks 8 to 16 before I start to feel well enough to want to get out of bed let alone workout. I am really hoping this won't be the case this time.

This is my week (hope I can remember it all):

Sunday: Step Jump & Pump (not sure if that's the correct name...Cathe's new all step with the 3 intervals at the end) all the way thru
Monday: Push Pull
Tuesday: Super Sets
Wednedsay: Cathe's new kickbox tape up til the punching drills--ran out of time. Meant to go back to it later, but the day got away from me
Thursday: Cathe's new kickbox tape, punching/kicking drills & abs only
Friday: The stress of everything hit this day, and I decided to take the day off in order to have some much needed time alone with hubby.
Saturday: Legs and Glutes (man it felt HARD today when it has previously felt too easy).

Oops. Just realized that this is the workout log for week of Jan 4th. Has nobody posted one for January 11th yet? Sorry.

Hi Stacy! I am so glad that you joined us!! Melanie ususally starts the workout log for the new week, but I know that she had already started dilating so she might be too busy! If she doesn't post by Monday evening, I will start a new thread.

I read your story, and I have to say that there is a definite reason for this child to be here!! I know that it is challenging, but, like you said, eventually you won't be able to imagine your life without the little peanut!! Congrats to you and your family and we will always be here for support, should you need it! Thanks for joining in!
