WORKOUT Friday 9/23

Cathlete
Good Morning Everyone,

Today was Legs and Glutes. As always, I'm sure I'll be feeling that one tomorrow.

I really need to do the Ab Marathon tomorrow - I haven't done abs in about 4 days and I miss it:(

I read someone's post (sorry I forgot whose) about putting the scale away and today I am going to put mine in the closet. Someone posted and said that one's mood should not be determined by the number on the scale - OH MY GOSH - that is just what I needed to hear because I am SO guilty of that. Heck, I weigh myself about 4 times a day - I am just so scared of gaining back the weight I've lost. So today, I WILL put my scale away and am vowing to no longer be a slave to it!
:) I'm nervous and excited at the same time:eek: :) Wish me luck!

Have a great day everyone,
Wendy

Good day.Today is leg and glutes and KPC.Wendy I have been overweight two yars ago and if you control your eating a little and workout hard with cathe you are not going to gain weight.I have loose weight since I discovered cathe. She is the best. I hope all of you will have a good weekend. :)

Hello ladies

I really loved my wo today --- starting out w/ 2 mi hill running, followed by 2000 m rowing plus P90X Shoulders & Arms afterwards. Feeling just GREAT! Mari

Hi, everyone...uh, is this open to all? I am getting ready to go and do another Timesaver and would love to join in when I'm done...TIA

Lydia....yes this is open to anyone and we love newcomers!!! Welcome...

I did P90X Legs & Back and a 4 mile run. I had this weird pain on the outside of my right thigh real deep, halfway between my hips and knee...bizarre as I never knew about anyone with this?? I felt it Wed at the end of my run but it seemed lots better today...:)...

Mari....hill running? Are you able to run again, that would be so cool...:)

Wendy...sometimes it is good to ignore the scale as we can become obsessed with it. My general rule of thumb is only weigh once a week....:)...have a great day ladies...Carole

Hello All!!! Welcome Lydia, I just got Timesaver but haven't done any yet as I'm still working my way through the Terminator workouts. You were right Stayfit, they ROCK!!! Still have to try Viper though, maybe on Monday. Today I did a mish mosh of step sections from CardioHits, PowerMax warmup, section 2 of StepFit, sections 3&4 from StepWorks, StepFit cooldown and stretch. It was so much fun mixing these familiar workouts into a new package.

Good for you Wendy, I don't 'do' scales either and figure that my jeans let me know exactly where I am. I hear you though, I dropped almost 50 lbs years ago and sometimes I still feel like there is 20 lbs nipping at my heels.

Nice mix Mari, your arms must be feeling very good, I love working shoulders.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!!:7

Hey Carole!! I wonder if that pain might be your illiotibial band, runs from the hip to the knee at the lateral leg. When I worked in a varsity clinic with long distance runners this was a common complaint. You are going to think I'm such a NAG, but....well,.... I think you know what I'd suggest;) :7

No Laurie...I hadn't thought of IT band syndrome. But I had that before...and it was right next to my knee and this is higher and the pain was weird, not consistent like IT band...when it hit...I about fell....then it got better and I kinda felt it during the day, but not bad. I felt it a little yesterday when I ran but today it was barely there. I actually got IT band halfway thru the Tahoe marathon....how very fun..x( my slowest marathon ever...DUH!!! Thanks for your input...:)...I know...I need a massage!!!!!!! I am so glad you are enjoying your new DVD's...I can hardly wait for the Hardcore series..:7 ...Carole

Carole, that pain probably your tight ITB -- that is a tendon that runs between the outside part of the knee and your hip. There are very good stretches for that. Downhill running can cause it big time.
I do run, but not much at all. maybe about 3- 5 mi altogether a week. Just a reminder of my past....
Find some stretches on the web, they'll help you a great deal!

I was actually using the bands today -- the blue and green for the arms and the redish one for the shoulders. Man, they were so hard!

Hey Carole! Hopefully whatever it is (or was) is behind you now and won't give you any more grief:). I just know enough to be dangerous ;). I will always hold long distance runners in high esteem and am admittedly somewhat in awe of what you can accomplish,.....even with IT syndrome in Lake Tahoe!! Hope tomorrow's run is a good one!!

I am loving my new Cathe stuff and am sure it is just a matter of time before I add more older DVDs to my little collection to tide me over until Hardcore. Like I said before, maybe my Girls will get Cathe for Christmas;) .

Thanks for the welcome! I made it through Timesaver #2 and am relieved to discover that I'm doing better catching on to Cathe's steps than when I was struggling through Rhythmic Step last summer! I am expecting the Intensities (including the Terminator) any day (?) and can hardly wait.
Wendy, I'm doing Weight Watchers currently and because I have quite a bit to lose to get into a healthy range, I have to watch that scale. But I also have to lose a fair amount to notice any change in the way my clothes fit, so that works, too. Putting your scale away for awhile (weighing yourself 4x a day is no fun, is it) maybe just what you need till you feel comfortable with where you are and how you're doing. Good luck!
