Workout Clothes

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem. I sweat A LOT when I workout, as I'm sure a lot of people do. My shirts especially get soaked, and when I wash them without bleach, they don't come out totally clean smelling all the time. I've used bleach in the past, but then all of my shirts turn funky purply/grey colors and look really strange when I am at the gym. I've tried the color safe bleach, but it definitely doesn't work as well as the regular bleach.

Does anyone have a different idea for how to really clean sweaty workout clothes while preserving the color?

Thanks,
Doreen

I use a combination of Tide, Oxyclean & Downy w/Febreeze to get the odors out. Even still not 100% effective, but somewhat mitigated.

I have found that using baking soda takes out most odors. I usually use Tide and then add about 3/4 to 1 cup of baking soda. If the smell is really bad I soak the clothes before I wash them. I usually buy the large boxes of baking soda for my laundry needs. ;-)

I sweat a ton too - the best workout clothes have that dryfit fabric - not sure that is the best word for it, but it dries super fast and doesn't weigh you down when you workout :)

Champion, Nike has it - -

Supplex maybe? My favorite is One Step Ahead supplex--it's incredibly soft & comfy & dries pretty quick. Pretty expensive though.
