Workout blender questions

I don't have my DVD's yet (they will supposedly be here on Tuesday!), but I have a question about the workout blender feature. From what others have written, it seems that you can't use the blender to combine sections from the two workouts on each DVD? Also, there is a limit of something like 6 chapters that can be combined? If there are as many chapters in the BB series workouts as there were in the IS series workouts, I'd need more than 20 chapters for some workout combos (I tried to program a mixed workout on one of the IS DVD's, and my programmable player will only go to 20 chapters per workout...that wasn't enough!).

Are there any technical reasons for these limitations? Is this something you would think of changing for future DVD's? (ie: making it possible to cross over between the two workouts as well as to choose more chapters? ) If so, I'd think that the WB would then be very useful, and there would be no need for the Mix-and-Match option as well. As is, the workout blender feature sounds quite a bit less useful than I thought it would be.

RE: Workout blender - Technical

Yes, it is true that workout blender can’t be used to select exercise segments between the two workouts. We thought about doing this, but due to technical limitations and the fear that it might not work on a dual layered disc, we decided against it.
The major technical limitations of DVD authoring as it applies to the Workout Blender is that DVD standards limit us to using a maximum of 6 variables that can be stored in the memory of any ”DVD Video Player” . Sadly, this something that the people who originally wrote the standards just didn’t think of.
The Workout Blender is not a “cure-all” solution but when combined with the premixes, chapter points, mix &match, etc.. it is another tool that you can use to customize your workout. Also, I should point out that the 6 variables used for each workout are not necessarily individual chapter points. Quite often we have combined several chapter points to make “1” variable.
We have many more premixes in this series than we did in the Intensity Series and a lot of the premixes combine the exercise segments from the two workouts. I think you will fine our premixes cover most of the possible combinations of doing the two workouts making a Blender or programming only necessary in a few cases. I think things will be more clear once you have your disc.
….and yes I would say there are as many Chapter Points in The Body Blast series as in the Intensity series.

Thanks for the quick response. Another question: are the "variables" stored as chapters points on their own? So that I could choose them through the programming function of my DVD player?
