Working out when sick? What do you do?

Hey everyone,
So I started feeling bad early yesterday morn. but still went to work, b/c I figured it was just sinus/allergy related. Well, once there I began to just feel worse. My head and throat were hurting and I just generally didn't feel right. I'm a teacher's aide and another aide had been feeling the same way and thought maybe something was going around. (working at a school, as cute as the kids are, they're little germ spreaders ) Anyways, I only work for about five hours, and it usually goes by fast, but yesterday by the time I got home I felt plain awful. I rested and took Tylenol and other than my throat still sore, I started feeling better by evening. So I went ahead with chores around the house and did a light workout. I didn't feel up for cardio so I did PLB (down premix) and an upper body workout. Well this morning around three, I woke up and besides my throat I felt worse. So by six, I called into work. Half of the day, I almost felt like someone had drugged me, I slept and had no energy and when I finally got up to get water I felt kind of dizzy. I finally ate something and continued to rest. I took some all around cold medicine and do finally feel a lot better, but my DH had called me earlier and made me promise not to workout. I had told him there is no way I was up for it, but now I am feeling a lot better...am I crazy to even consider it? I'm not sure if I just had some type of 24hr. flu or what, anyways anyone have any experiences w/ this? What do you guys do? Thanks and sorry this is so long, Lisa

I've learned the hard way that for the most part I don't workout when sick. We really need to take care of ourselves and let our bodies recover from illness/sickness. A few missed workouts are worth your overall health and well being. 'Hope you feel 100% really soon!
