working at the end

Hi all, I was wondering if many women leave work before the baby is due or if they tough it out right to the end? My Dr. says he will write me out on STD any time I want to go. I admit it is getting to be a struggle but I don't want to be a wimp either. I'm due Oct 7th with #3. Workouts at this point are virtually non-existant but I try to do a little 3 times a week. I can't wait to get back to a regular exercise program. The last few weeks seem to last FOREVER!

I worked up to the day before I gave birth. My job does not involve much standing though. I feel it depends on the job and how you are feeling. I was lucky i felt great to the end and even worked out the day I gave birth but like i said I was lucky.

On all my pregnancies I had to leave 2 weeks before because I begin dialating and effacing 4 to 5 weeks before my due date and I can't walk, I get contractions and I commute to work and everyone (doctor and employer, etc.)is afraid I will give birth on the train because I give birth within an hour after heavy contractions begin...no epidural time for me! :p
