does anyone got married in winter in a area where there is snow? I am in Canada and I am getting married in March. I am not liking the pictures I see on the net of wedding in winter, I like more the summer. I was wondering if anyone has pictures of their wedding in winter to get some ideas.

thx

I was married in January in NE Ohio in a blizzard!! I don't have any computer pictures to share though. Just hard copies that I cannot scan in! Just wanted to say good luck. PS - our bridesmaids wore deep red velvet dresses like Christmas though, very pretty.

When I picture a winter wedding, the images that come to mind are beautiful. It makes me think of that episode of Friends when Pheobe Banana-Hammock married Mike Crap-Bags or whatever in the snow -- that was a beautiful wedding!!

My sister got married in January and it was just beyond beautiful. She lucked out and had a perfect dusting of new snow that covered all the dirty snow. The banquet hall still had Christmas lights out and the pictures taken at night from the wedding are just stunning. Winter weddings are as beautiful as any other wedding. I'm sure yours will be perfect!!!!!

>do you like your pictures? Do you have any regrets? Any ideas
>of nice pics?

No regrets - the only thing is we could not predict the weather ahead of time; thus, lots of people could not drive on the icy roads. The pictures were romantic.

We got married in March (in NJ) and it snowed the morning after our wedding. Our photographer did such a wonderful job. One of the reasons I picked her was because I too was concerned about having pictures I liked. I didn't want pictures up against a wall at the reception site. She took us to Princeton University and we did pictures on the steps of some very beautiful stone buildings with wonderful columns. We were a bit cold in our dresses but everyone did a great job of not letting it show! I am sure you will find a wonderful place. I have seen many beautiful winter weddings. I wish you the best.

We had our wedding in January in NE Ohio, and it was cold, but we had beautiful church and reception venues that were perfect for indoor photos. It made our honeymoon in Hawaii that much more enjoyable!!! I can still remember our luggage cart at the hotel with our winter coats hanging on it, in Maui!!!! LOL

I think snowy wedding pictures are gorgeous! Of course, you can never predict when there's going to be snow. I had a winter wedding (February) and it ended up being 60 degrees and sunny on our wedding day! Go figure! ;)

My sister got married in February in Illinois and it was beautiful. They got married in a old house and although it didn't snow that day there was snow on the ground. We took the majority of the pictures inside but a couple were taken outside. It was really pretty but cold!! Of course after the outside pics were taken my BIL and the groomsmen all had a snowball fight!

I was married on December23,1983. Our pictures were not professional and that is my only regret. However the setting was beautiful. The bridesmaids carried hurricane lanterns with lit candles that were decorated with Holly. The church and reception place were decorated for Christmas and they were pretty too. We did however have a (mini) ice storm and I'm not sure some of my family has forgiven me yet!

I would do it again in a heart beat.

We were married on a New Year's Eve in Colorado ... it was 60 degrees all week long (typical) and then the most beautiful snowfall came (also typical). My favorite photo is DH and I cutting the cake, in front of a window with the snow falling. The outdoors looks kind of blue. It's a wonderful effect (plus we're inside!).

I also remember a photo of one of the groomsmen running and skidding on the ice. Lots of fun!
