will there be a challenge for july? Has it been decided?

Hey ladies,

Will there be a challenge like our no sweets? I was wanting to know so I could be participating in it on the 4th. Has anyone decided or should we throw out some ideas.

thanks,

kim

I think some of the ladies have decided to do a Water-Drinking Challenge and a No-Salt challenge - avoiding salty snacks like chips and pretzels and such. I already drink more than 64 oz of water a day and don't eat much salty foods to begin with, so I need something more challenging. I just don't know what... ;)

Oh salty snacks... I must not be paying a bit of attention today. That may be not as bad. I don't buy chips, etc. because I'd eat the whole bag. The only problem I'll have is when we go to our favorite Mexican restaurant. I guess I'll have to skip the two baskets of chips!! Probably won't be eating Mexican in July.:-(

The water is no problems. I drink over 64 oz already.

I drink 64 oz. or more already too. Salty stuff I could stay away from. It's the damm sweets that kill me. I wanted to join the no sweet check in and couldn't do it.:-( Kali

I'm starting a mini-challenge tomorrow (see the Suck In Your Gut thread).

I know everyone has their own personal fitness goals but what about a walking lunge or big girl push-up challenge to add onto the water and no salt challenge? Or are we going to get over-challenged?

Sounds good Lunacat. I, myself, am intrigued by the walking lunges. I don't know where to do them though, I guess in the house going from room to room because I'm sure not going to do these outside where someone can see me!!

Haydee, I would've thought you could do 100 push-ups on your toes! Up until two months ago, I could eek out 30, but it was an almost mind-breaking experience. Since I haven't been doing them every day, I'm back down to 10. I'll try to get back up to 20 by July 15th. Even if no one else wants to take that on, we can do it!

RE: will there be a challenge for july? Has it been dec...

I think the sugar challenge can't go...we can extend it to junk food in general and of course that includes sweets and high sodium foods. The water challenge is ok, but I'm okay on that one. I drink enough water, but I think it will help those that forget to drink it.

Jane, do you have a back yard? Do you have any kids who you can teach them to, so you can look like you're playing when you do them? I can do them in a straight line from my front door to the back wall of the master bedroom, but that's only 25 one way. I think I might wear down the hard wood floors!

I have a backyard and 11 acres of pastureland but there are neighbors on either side. I may go down toward the woods at the edge of the pasture. Due to the terraces on our land, you can still see this from the road. I may be safe from sight there from my neighbors. My kids are 22 and 24 so I don't think they'd accommodate me. LOL.... I'll figure it out. I want to try those. I'll let you know if I get past two.:+

Aha looks are deceiving. Truthfully, if I really applied myself to doing them on my toes I probably could do 100....NOT, maybe 20. But I will start tonight.

Ok, so who is the grand pupa who will determine and post the ultimately selected challenge? I would rather focus on walking lunges OR push-ups for one month, I don't think I could do both!

Yours in 90 degree wimpiness,
Marie
