Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill--Thanks TeTe!

Beavs

I believe it was Teresa who recommended this film and I wanted to thank her. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. It made me cry and got me thinking....maybe with everything my younger nephew is going through in finding his way as a young man...having lost his cousin and how much I miss my niece. Every time I see a parrot I will think of Connor his impact on me. Maybe strange, but true...

Beautiful film. Loved it! My sister has a bird and I guess I never really "got it" until I saw this.

Beavs, thank for posting this. I had wanted to see it and forgot. I just put a hold on it at my library and will pick it up the afternoon.

Funny you should mention this today. I wanted to thank her too. I saw it right after she recommended it and just yesterday we went an open house at the Oasis Bird Sanctuary where we got to see Mingus, Andi and Yosemite! We had a great time.

Yes, thanks for the reminder - just resigned up for Netflix - am going there now to add to my list.

We have had up to four birds but are now down to 2 large ones - a Macaw and an Amazon. Can't wait to see it.:D

I'm so glad you liked it!!! it's such a beautiful little film; I thought about it for days after seeing it. I was surprised at what an impact on me, too. Strange how we can feel love and loss from so many different forms of life.

Gabrielle...That is SO cool!!! Now those are some "celebrities" that I would love to meet myself!!!

I just rented it on Netflix.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

I have to agree. I would really love to meet Mingus. His personality reminds me of my SIL's dachshund. ;)

It was cool. I drove my husband crazy for a month talking about Mingus. It's really good to see that the San Francisco parrots along with all the other birds there are in a place where they will be well cared for forever. I think we were the only non bird people there. The sanctuary is 40 minutes from the nearest town off an Arizonan dirt road. Most of the people willing to make the trip are die hard bird fans.
