Who's Driving You Insane, take 2

The other thread was getting too long for me, and I know soooo many people need to chime in. Here goes.

My MIL!!!!!! Both my parents and my in-laws live 30 minutes away. My parents have ALWAYS been active with my 3 kids, and my in-laws couldn't care less. Although when it comes to my BIL's 6 kids it's a whole different story: they get over-nights, trips, dinners, events, etc.

MIL has a standing gift option that when her grand-daughters turn 5, their gift is lunch and shopping with grandma. DD turns 5 today. Grandma made plans to take her yesterday and came over to get her. DD turned immediately shy (she's usually anything but) and started crying because she wanted her whole family to go. I explained that it was her special trip with grandma. She continued crying and then asked if they could take our car instead of grandma's car. Grandma said no. Grandma then said "well I guess we won't go." DD immediately perked up - no problem there! So I guess what goes around comes around, but how flippin' hard would it have been to take my car? UUUGGGHHH!!!

My boss who thinks he's sooooo much better than most people.

My boss who treats me like crap.

My boss who has nothing nice to say about most people (unless, of course, he's totally impressed with their perceived status - doctors, legislators or our Governor who really doesn't care much for him but who my boss thinks is a "good friend").

My boss who says terrible things about anything personal I do (working out, having animals, the cars I buy, my political beliefs, etc.).

My boss who at 64 years old should behave better than he does.

Did I mention my boss??? Oh - maybe I should get back to work speaking of bosses. :)

Lorrie,

You're absolutely right about what goes around comes around. I have an older sister and a younger brother and when we were growing up my sister was treated like gold by my father's parents and my brother and I were a total inconvenience to them. My sister got extra Christmas presents, was taken on camping trips, spent the night there whenever she wanted and my brother and I were always left out. My father's mother is a very selfish person and didn't really care that she was causing problems between my parents. My brother and I always stayed with my mom's parents (and we preferred it that way) and we had a blast. My grandma was/is a great cook. My grandfather took us anywhere we wanted. Now that we're older we are of course very close to my mom's family and have very little to do with my dad's parents. We both make an effort for my dad's sake, but it's definitely not the same. The problem is that my grandmother in particular all of a sudden wants the same relationship with my brother and I that we have with my other grandmother (my grandfather passed away). Unfortunately for her that'll never happen. My mom's parents were always there for us and treated all their grandchildren equally and that kind of relationship was formed over years of being wonderful and caring grandparents. It's unfortunate for my dad's parents, but they made their choices a long time ago.

Robin,

I don't know where on earth you would get that idea!!!

But now he just thanked me profusely for a project I took on. Will wonders never cease? I guess now I have to go to Melody's OTHER thread - the positive one!

As crazy as it sounds....my DOG!!! She has been so obnoxious (sp?) lately! The last 3 days she has woke my daughter during nap time with her barking. And now that it is getting warmer, she has been rolling around out there in who knows what, but I do know that she stinks to high heaven! I have been giving her more baths the last few days than all winter I think! And, we just got some landscaping done and she is digging all our new grass up! AUGHH!

Ok, I feel better now!
