Who else is new to Cathe?

I'm new! I just started working out with Cathe about two months ago. I was mostly using The Firm's older stuff until then. I won an auction on Ebay for a Firm tape and the seller sent me Leaner Legs by mistake. I sent it on the person it was intended for, but she allowed me to try it first. The rest is DOMS history!

Hi, I was doing the Firm and Taebo Live Advanced until I found Cathe late last spring. I have, like everyone warns, purchased 99% of Cathe workouts and sold my older items since! I've had great results!

I'm new to Cathe and I LOVE all the DVds so far. I started about 3 weeks ago... I'm sooo hooked.... so far I have LIC, Body Max2, Butts & Gutts, Low Max, Drill max, Cardio & Weigts/Imax 2, push pull/supersets... I love them all!@!!!!

Hello I am fairly new, I discovered Cathe from FitTv about 6 months ago, and discovered the forums just recently. I previously had a gym membership, but after finding Cathe I just work out at home!

Anyway welcome.

I am new to Cathe and am concentrating on the weight and cardio workouts. I'm basically using it as crosstraining for all my other sports (boxing, running, rock climbing, mountain biking, etc.). I have several of the dvds now and I'd say Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance is my favourite.

I wouldn't say that I'm a veteran yet. I found Cathe quite by accident a year ago with Low Max, but didn't really get "into" her until last May when I finally came to the website and was amazed at her variety and selection. I've been a die-hard fan ever since!!!

Hello

I'm from the UK and I discovered Cathe about two months ago. Since then I have become addicted lol. I've got a couple of GS ones, the four new ones. Also Kick Max, Core Max, Stretch Max and KPC. The trouble is I can't stop buying them!!

I've just attempted Drill Max this morning and I am completed done in. By the time I'd got to circuit six I was wasted. Hopefully, it will give me something to work towards.

I love LIC and KPC. I'm always scanning the forums looking for some inspiration and theres certainly lots of it on here.

Thanks for the responses ladies

I'ts nice to know that I'm not the only"newbie"here!

The only dvd I have at the moment is basic step/body fusion.however I've been planning on purchasing total body stretch and Kick punch crunch(really excited about that one)just got to come up with the funds!Well I'm off to body fusion.....It was nice to meet you!

I also want to add how much I enjoy this site and have alot of respect for the members, very knowledgeable ladies,I've been learning since I started about a month ago!

Welcome to all the newbies!!!

As Tygra mentioned, be prepared to have your wallet out constantly. Once you discover Cathe there's no going back, and you'll eventually have them all:)

Another welcome to all of you. Like Shelley said, once you're hooked, there's no going back. I started a little over a year ago and I can't say I have all of Cathe's DVDs but I have a good 90%.

For me, it has been about 6 months or so working out with Cathe. Before, it was Taebo, Turbo Jam and other random vids. I actually first heard of Cathe on the weight watchers website (the fitness forum). People there kept talking about Cathe, Cathe, Cathe. I was like, "Who is this wonder woman everyone is talking about?". I ventured to her website....end of story.

I am now hooked and LOVE reading the forums almost as much as the workouts! :D I learn so much from all the people here, some advice about diet, better workout tips, and even some non-workout stuff that I find extremely helpful.

Hi Amy,

I'm new to exercising and Cathe! I haven't worked out in over a decade. After the birth of my 9 year old, my sister told me that exercising would detrimentally affect the nutritional content of my breast milk. Don't know if that's completely true. I didn't have time to find out since I became pregnant with twins before she was even weaned. She was 6 months old at the time. Anyhow, now that my twins are physically healthy (they were born at 24 weeks gestation) and older, now 8 years old, I have the time and desire to exercise.

I got the step which included Basic Step on a whim the day after News Years. I've been working out every day since, mostly with Basic Step. I adore Cathe! Watching Sadie (? the lady with blonde hair) being able to complete it, was so inspirational. I love that there are people with all different body types and sizes on it.

At first, I could only do the 9 minute warm-up. How pathetic is that! I worked myself up to complete the entire dvd without pausing for water or getting winded. I just started Low Impact Step/Total Body Sculpting. I'm working up to being able to complete the entire dvd before buying the other Low Impact dvd.

I'd like to lose some fat and inches in my legs. I'm 5'3" and weigh ~120pounds.

Hi 6Swans4me(everybody)

I just wanted to comment on "only doing 9 minutes of the warm up and being poop!",ME TOO!I too have worked my way up to doing both basic step and body fusion, learning the steps was challenging, but I did it!I have thought about buying the lowimpact step, how is it?Are the steps easy to learn?I also want Kick punch crunch,I've seen the video clips so many times, can't wait to try it!
eversince I started cathe,I've been hooked!as soon as learn a new dvd,I'm looking for more to buy.just like everybody says, she's soooo addictive!!!!

I also wanted to add that I think by just being a mother,we have accomplished so much!I have a 19 mnth old and a 5 year old,and its just amazing what a women can do!!:D

Take care!
Amy:)

Welcome to all the newbies!! I second what Shelley and Marcy said... be prepared to have your credit cards smoking but you'll be smiling (and sweating) the whole way. I've been with Cathe for almost four years now (started with the studio step and All Step tape I bought at Walmart) and now I have them all (except for BS and HSCircuit that is). I find it hard to work out with anyone but Cathe.

Again welcome!

Amy,

I should have mentioned that when I first tried Basic Step, it was withOUT the risers. LOL

I got Low Impact Step/Body Sculpting this past Monday. I broke it out that evening. I was able to get through the warm-up, 1st combo, 1st cardio blast, and the very beginning of the 2nd combo using one level of risers. On Tuesday, I worked up to the end of the 1st cardio blast and finished exercising with the entire Basic Step dvd. (My Basic Step did not include Total Body Fusion.) Yesterday, I did the Total Body Sculpting portion and Basic Step dvd. This morning I did all of the step portion of Low Impact Step except the 1st cardio blast and followed it with the Basic Step dvd. This evening I did the sculpting portion.

The Low Impact Step part requires a lot more energy. I can't even begin to imagine what the advance dvds are like. Low Impact Step is a big step up for me. The sweat just pours off my body in places I didn't even know could perspire! (probably too much information. LOL) I have a hard time getting the 2nd combo part down smoothly -- the triple skip around the board and jump/lunge parts. I think I'm just tired by then. I might try doing the warm-up and going directly to the 2nd combo just so my body can catch up with my mind. I'll get it eventually.

I love the sculpting portion. I use 3 pound dumb bells. I have no desire to use heavier ones anytime in the near future since I like the shape and size of my arms. The lunges are killer. I'm two lunges away from being able to do all that part! LOL The side leg lifts are pure evil; especially when she has you pump forever. Well, it feels like forever. I'm really feeling the soreness in my pecs and inner thighs. The only part I don't like is when I have to support my stomach on the ball. It very uncomfortable and difficult to breath when I put pressure there even if it's only partly supporting my stomach. I'm not sure why since I work at breathing in my rib cage area. It's only for the back lift and bicep curls though.

I was thinking about getting the KPC dvd. You'll have to give me a complete report on it if you get it! It'll be nice to hear reviews from another beginner. I'm liking the low impact workouts. I've already lost an inch from my waist since starting Basic Step. I always lose from my waist first. I haven't lost any from my thighs yet. Although, I did lost a quarter of an inch from my hips.

Take care and give your baby and 5 year old kisses! They grow up so fast!

Hey 6Swans4me

I WILL absolutely give you a full report on KPC,And CONGRADULATIONS and the lost measurements!I think I'll get low impact step too, sounds great! sounds similar to body fusion,my legs felt like jello when I was done with that one!And I agree, after seeing some of the new advanced dvd clips, our beginner's do look easy! But I'am so glad I found Cathe,I love it when I first(after several workouts) complete a new dvd.And I love DOMS.just not painful onesx(!

I just got a stability ball, and haven't tried it yet!Is there another way to do that particular exercise, since its uncomfortable for you?And I know what you mean about sweating,I tend to soak a small towl myself, but I love it!And kids do grow up so fast,I can't believe my little girl starts school in september:-(!She's my little helper,And my son...OH What A Hand full, but a very precious one at that!:)!

And let me know on your succsess!
Amy:)

I am starting to see the truth behind the comments about the credit cards coming out. I started off a year ago buying one here and there, thinking at first I'm going to just alternate between the gym and home excercising, but after getting two dvds that I both loved, I was hooked. The first big purchase I made was during the preorder of her latest dvds. I couldn't choose so I bought all four and was so happy to get Cardio Fusion as well. After that, I've bought 3 more dvds all within a 1 month period. And I was an avid gym goer, but now, I go to the gym in between my Cathe workouts instead of doing Cathe workouts in between my gym schedule. It is all so worth it I must say though.

I bought Kick Max about 6 months ago as I wanted to try Cathe without buying any equipment. Well, I loved it. I bought a step and got Low Max and C&W/Imax2 and have just ordered Muscle Max and SJP/SB. I've got about 20 DVDs but am only using Cathe and a couple of others now!

I'm going to try and buy 2 or 3 every 2-3 months as I save up (no new clothes or haircuts for me!). So I'll have a great bod but look like a baglady!! LOL
