Who else has sold all their other workouts on Ebay?

After discovering Cathe, I really want to get rid of all my other videos. I've listed seven on Ebay so far and only got bids on 3! I still have about 2 dozen left to get rid of. Has anyone else tried this? How did it go? Any suggestions on clearing these out of my home are welcome!

I've sold some but hang on to a few Tae-Bo videos for variety. My experience has been that the high end programs - Cathe, P90X, - will always sell for a good price but older more common stuff, like Tae Bo or Tammi Lee Webb, sell for very little. Have you tried doing a package deal?

I sold a lot of videos on amazon.com after I found Cathe. There were only a few that never got sold and they all sold for decent prices, especially some of my FIRM videos. They even give you a small amount for shipping costs (but also take out a small fee) and it is pretty cheap if you ship media mail with USPS.

I sold many of my older vids on Ebay since November. Almost all went, though some had to be relisted before selling. I sold lots in pairs or threesomes, etc and some as singles. DVDs go faster than VHS tapes for certain but most of my VHS tapes went too!

You have to be willing to sell alot of it for cheap, that's for sure. I didn't care...I always managed to make a profit and it was better than throwing them away!:)

I sell workout DVDs and VHS on ebay occasionally. What bids you get is determined by a few factors: how popular the instructor is, the opening bid you set, how old the video is, the condition of the item, your shipping costs, your feedback history, how many of the same item that are listed concurrently with yours, just to name a few.

Of course Cathe DVDs and some of her VHS get top dollar. Other instructors that I've been able to sell at decent prices are Charlene Prickett, Mindy Mylrea, and Christi Taylor. Surprisingly I got a really good price on Cindy Crawford (like 20 bucks, whoda thunk!). The Firm, Karen Voight seem to be a dime a dozen so you may not get much for them.

If you aren't sure why your listing isn't selling, you might want to find other listings for the same thing and track them in your watch list. After seeing a few of the same items from start to finish you'll be able to determine what the market will bear, where to best start the bidding price and even your shipping/handling costs.

You could also consider placing them in lots. You might get a better response if you offer a group of DVDs VHS by the same instructor.

Also, I always make my auctions end on a weekend. People have more time to watch and wait on the weekends so you are more likely to get two or more people bidding against each other (as opposed to 2 in the afternoon on a Monday). People also don't like to bid until the last couple days so if you just listed your items you might not see any activity on them yet.

Good luck

Don't throw them away...donate them to your local library.

I still have ALL of my Firms from the 80's, early 90's. Should have sold them when they were going for big bucks on Ebay but didn't. Now they've put them on dvd so the vhs prices are give-away now. :(

I sold all my old Firm vhs on ebay. It is true this day in age that dvds sell better than vhs do but what worked for me was selling them in lots. People like getting more for their money. I sold 6 vhs tapes and my Firm step for $60.00. I thought i would not get anymore than 20.00 for it. I think alot has to do with luck.:D

I've sold a lot of workouts on Ebay over the years, including the Cathe's that just didn't click with me.

I've had pretty good luck with Ebay. Only a couple of problem buyers over the years (and not huge problems at that).

If you don't want to go the Ebay route, I second the idea of donating them to a local library. (Even if they don't keep them in their holdings, they will often sell them and make some money for the library). You could also consider donating them to some women's group.

Thanks everyone! I know the DVD's would go better, but I want to keep those!:)
I will sell what I can in lots. I want to make just a little money to go toward some more Cathe DVD's! What doesn't sell, I will donate. Great suggestions!

I actually just sold a bunch of DVD's on E-bay and was really happy about the results! I really didn't like Billy Blanks' new Taebo stuff with the resistance bands so I sold a lot of 6 DVDs and the bands for $48.50 and a group of FIRM DVDs for $35.07. Since I've started Cathe, these just don't hold a candle, although I kept a couple of the older Taebo VHS tapes that were more advanced. I say, "Go for it!" and use the money for new Cathe workouts! That's what I plan to do!
