Who Didn't You See?

Shelley's post got me thinking:

Who have you not see in concert, that you would like to, or would have liked to, if the person/group is dead/broken up? Mine are:

Johnny Cash
Jimmy Buffett
Kenny Chesney
John Denver
Mozart

The teenybopper in me would also like to mention Duran Duran and WHAM! :D

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage

I missed a Soundgarden/NIN/PWEI show because I was 6 months pregnant. Still kicking myself on that one.

Sex Pistols. I saw them on the Filthy Lucre tour, but without Sid.

The Jam.

Led Zeppelin
The Allman Brother's Band
James Taylor
The Beatles

ETA how could I forget, I love Johann Strauss and I could listen to that 1 2 3 music all day long!

Shelley, I have NO CLUE what you're talking about--lol!

Michele

Zepplin
The Doors
Alice in Chains
Lynyrd Skynyrd

disappointed to discover they are not it -- Bernard Bailey

Definitely Zeppelin--I had tix to their 1980 show at the Philly Spectrum (which no longer exists), it was gonna be my first concert ever, & then that b$%^&#$ard Bonham died so the concert was cancelled.

Oh, & the Rolling Stones. I've seen ZZ Top three freakin times & I don't even like them, yet I've never seen the Stones.

Saw Billy Joel for the second time last month at the Garden--hair or no hair, that guy rocks!

Heck, that's easy - the Beatles! I DID get to see Paul McCartney in 2002, and I can die happy now. I'd like to see Tom Jones - does that REALLY age me or what?!

I lived in a good place for concerts when I was in my teens.

I've seen Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, Bad Company, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Styx, ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, Kansas, Lynrd Skynrd (after the plane crash), Heart, Three Dog Night, Grand Funk Railroad, Willie Nelson, Doobie Brothers.

I'd love to see Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan.

Sparrow, you can still see Duran Duran. I just saw them a year ago. I believe they were all the original members. You should go if they come around again.

The Doors - with Jim Morrison. I have seen them twice w/ Ian Ashbury singing and it is awesome.

The Beatles
Elvis
Ray Charles
Johnny Cash
The Ramones
Nirvana
Janis Joplin
Mother Love Bone
Alice in Chains
Jimmy Hendrix
Patsy Cline

Elvis ( b-4 carbohydrates )
Cher
Frank Sinatra
Judy Garland

Hey, I am not that old, I just like the classics!:)

Oh, yeah - Janis Joplin was the BOMB! Such a voice - what a freakin' waste!

Definately Johnny Cash, Sting, and Billy Joel. I am sure there are others. Just can't think of them right now.

I have never been to a concert ever in my entire life!

Well, that's not entirely true. I did see Sha Na Na in the 7th grade. :)

I know you are all so hip and cool, but personally, when I think of a concert, I think of being trapped in a packed room with thousands of sweaty, stoned, crazy people smoking and utilizing the same three facilities.... ewwww.

Pay per view is so much better! :p

Marie

PS: I know how unpopular this will make me.

Kassia,
I actually saw the Doors. My Dad went to buy us Rolling Stones tickets at Madison Square Garden, and they were all sold out, so he bought tickets to see the Doors. My brother and I were really disappointed, because we had never heard of the Doors. Then we saw them and became instantaneous fans.

You should read the article on Paul McCartney in this month's AARP magazine. He'll be 64 in June, so they did a cover story on him. For a celebrity, he is a very impressive guy. He said his greatest achievement in life was raising his four kids, who are all leading happy, productive lives. I'm not very interested in celebrities, but I'll always have a soft spot for Paul McCartney.

Ummmmm.... Kara? You could still see U2. I don't think any of them are dead:p And Green Day are definitely still going strong:p
