I am getting my equipment for STS slowwwwly and am interested in the weighted vest. I am not a very heavy lifter, my heavy weight for dumbell is 10 lbs right now. Should I buy the
10 lb vest or the heavier one? I am inclined to buy the 10lb but then I'd have to buy another if I get markedly stronger later, wouldn't I?

Hi Nancy -

I got them both - I found the 10 lb one first at a Tuesday morning store near me for a good price, then ordered the 20 lb one from this site. The 20 lb one can actually be adjusted from 12 to 20 lb. If I were just getting one weighted vest, I would just get the 20 lb one... Hope that helps:)

A suggestion I would make is to get a non-Cathe weighted vest. The reason being, you can find one for cheaper that is weight adjustable and goes to 40 pounds. If you do a search for one, you can find them for about the same price, or cheaper and with free shipping, that will go up to 40 pounds. It is adjustable, so you don't have to have the 40 pounds in the vest. It isn't nearly as attractive, but for cheaper, why not have the 40 just in case. I know that at the gym, I can squat 100 pounds very comfortably with out a spotter and do 3 sets of 15 reps no problem. So, when I'm able to purchase a weighted vest, I'm going to get one that goes to 40 pounds. I wish I could purchase one from Cathe.com, but they don't sell one that is heavy enough for me.
