Which One IS Best

I don't have Timesaver, but out of the other two, my fave is Step Blast. Fun, fun, fun. Cardio and Weights is good because it comes with Imax 2--which is a gem--one of Cathe's best! But Step Blast also has tons of great premixes. I'm not a fan of SJ&P (except for the ab work) but I do Step Blast much more than C&W. Just my .02

Step Blast comes with Step, Jump and Pump. Step Blast is complex choreography but is REALLY fun. Step Jump and Pump is one of my favorite workouts ever. I just got this for Christmas and I did it this morning. I loved it the first time throug! I do not have the timesaver workout though. I have noticed on the board that the timesaver workout is one of the least favored workouts.

Before I got Step Blast and Step, Jump and Pump, Cardio and Weights was my favorite and most used workout. It is easy to master the choreography, but you can keep adding weight to make it challenging. It really gives you results and I have gotten definition from using it. The ab section is one of Cathe's best in any workout and will give you a six pack. Cardio and Weights comes with IMAX 2 which is really fun but it is a high impact aerobic program.

The bottom line is that you can't go wrong with Step Blast or Cardio and Weights.

Step Blast is in a class of its own as a step workout. It is beyond excellent. The music rocks, the moves fit the music beautifully and are a great mix of low impact "dancy" stuff with plyometric blasts and other more straight-up athletic moves. I never do SJP, but would buy this one again like a shot, just to have SB.

Cardio & Weights is an incredibly useful workout to have in your fitness library. It is perfect for days when you don't want to burst a blood vessel and still get a good cardio session in, or when you have taken some time off and want to ease your way back up to higher impact, more intense routines. You can do the program as is, or separate the cardio from the weights and do one after another, or just do the cardio before a separate weight training session, it lends itself to that.

Imax 2 seems to be the most popular of the Imax workouts. It certainly has the best music and higher "fun" factor, which is quite a feat considering it is a tough interval workout.

Value for money should steer you toward a C&W/Imax 2 purchase. But I think your best bet is to get one of these DVDs now and the other later when the pennies are more plentiful. What you choose first depends upon what you prefer to do for cardio training, how fit you are right now and where your passion lies!

It's a tough call. I'd get Step Blast/SJP first for sheer fun-ness in the New year!

Ooooh, I love giving my opinion :p!

I'd pick Step Blast first because the wts in SJP are more comprehensive for the total body while C&W is more upper body focused. Also, the 23 premixes offered on SB/SJP rock the planet in terms of versatility. You can do SB cardio with the SJP wts as a circuit, etc. etc. The music on all of the workouts (SJP, SB, C&W and Imax2) is some of Cathe's best, IMHO. Eventually, when your budget allows, both dvds are worth having.

I really would skip Timesaver though, very few people seem to love it and the cardio segments are short (25 min.)

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Could you clarify your question? Are you trying to decide to purchase the Timesaver DVD from the BodyBlast Series vs the Cardio & Weights/IMAX 2 DVD from the Intensity Series? The answers are kind of all over the place, not knowing what you're considering.

My DH bought me a barbell for x-mas and I need a workout that incorporates it. I have watched SJP on fit tv and I liked it so I thought the body blast timesaver would do the trick, but Cathes next suggestion after using the beginner rotation is cardio and weight. I was just trying to decide where to go next.

The Timesaver is a compilation of the other workouts in the BodyBlast Series. You would get 5 workouts that are all under an hour. 4 of them start with a cardio section from SB, SJP, or KPC and then work a specific muscle group from the weight work in SJP plus some additional footage. The 5th workout is all lower body (from Legs and Glutes, plus bonus footage) and abs from SJP.

There's a lot of bang for you buck if you want to start there. I purchased Timesaver when I first discovered Cathe (along with a VHS of Cardio & Weights), but when I acquired the others in the BodyBlast Series, I sold Timesaver.

The DVD version of Cardio & Weights comes with IMAX 2. You would then have a circuit workout alternating step and weights, and a pure cardio interval workout.

It would really depend on how you like to work out. For me, the Timesaver was a great buy and served it's purpose for me at the time. But I grew to preferring longer cardio and doing weight days seperately from cardio.

You might like to look into the Pyramid DVD for all weight work. The lower body workout on that uses the barbell almost exclusively.

I just started Cathe this week and I started with Timesaver. I bought this dvd before seeing that a lot of people poo pooed it. I am, however, happy with this purchase. Its a good beginner video with pretty good workouts. I'm not a big step fan so this dvd allows for an easier transition to learn the moves and the lingo.

I am in pretty good shape, but I still find these workouts quite challenging especially for cardio. I think the 45 minute workouts are a good start to Cathe as she is quite challenging.

I can see why members would be put off Timesaver after trying other dvds. Timesaver is pretty basic and shorter and from what I read most posters are hardcore Cathe. Sounds like the other dvds are substancially more challenging.
