Ok I no this is not the best way to go, but I am so frustrated with this plateu of mine, I just need to lose 4 punds more and hopefully my body fat% will go down. I am goin to try one week at a time for 2 weeks. This is wht Im thinking:
Diet: Low carb diet, no processed crbs, fruits, bread or any kind of whole grains, pasta. Only lean meats and veggies, eggs. So I have 2 questions:
1. Is dairy allowed in low carb diets? How abt oatmeal?Whr can I get info on low carb dieting?
2. I also want to shock my body with workouts, but I am an intermediate exerciser, wht general rotation do u suggest like how many days cardio, inetrval and lifting weights?? Any suggestions will help, i am ready to commit to anything for the next 2 weeks, at least a week with diet, i dont no how long i can go without carbs, i tend to be a little irritated without thm...thank u all in advance..

Hi Neha,

The one thing I'd like to caution you about, our brains and nervous system run strictly on carbs, nothing else. As well as cutting out all carbs makes it much harder to start the production of burning fat. There have been documented studies, where people have cut out all carbs and have a hard time thinking or reacting/moving quickly to things.

Though no processed carbs is a really good idea, as you generally don't get much from those, besides a lot of calories.

But to shock your body, it kind of depends on what you've been doing. One of the best shockers I've found is to do 2-3 days of low intense cardio and then hit it with about the hardest cardio you can comfortably do. Then the next day do intervals, and then add weight training back into the mix on 5th day. Then take the 7th day off. Usually the second week, you'll feel different and you'll notice some change by the end of the week. But do keep that cardio up, high and try to burn at least 300 + calories per day working out, and try for 500 calories burned.

But eat very clean, no processed foods of any kind, lots of veggies, protein, carbs, fruit, and dairy. Most of my clients, who manage to eat clean for those two weeks and the weeks after notice their plateau, is no longer there. Remember even at 500 calories burned per day working out, it'll take about 2 weeks to lose one pound of fat. You may want to drop your calories as well if you haven't already did so. This will give you a wider gap, I usually recommend about a 200 calorie drop from there normal calories. Unless they are already at 1400 calories per day, if they are I, just make them increase their cardio and really push themselves to burn more calories during the workout.

HTH,

Hi Kit,
thank u so much for the advice, i am just frustrated coz im trying to eat clean and workout regularly, but the last pounds dont seem to come off, i also am not a big fan of low carb diets coz as u said the brain really needs carbs to function, and this is very imp for me, i am a scientist and really need to work my brain hard all the time, thts y i was thinkin abt the diet for just a week or 2, but as per ur suggestion, i will try the workout routine next week and try to lower my calorie intake to abt 1400, its around 1600 now. Thank u so much.
