Whey vs Casein Protein

I am using Optimum/On Protein. Currently I have both the Whey and Casein varities. The casein is slower digesting, thicker when blended; almost pudding like in consistency, depending on if you add frozen banana or strawberries, etc.

I have much better satiety (feeling full & satisfied) using the casein protein vs the whey protein. The whey protein, I believe is a faster delivery to your muscles after a workout.

An article I read indicated that whey is a superior protein. Does anyone have any other information on whey and casein and which would be better to use?

Have a Great Exercise Day!:)

I don't know about casein but this is what I have read about whey protein:

Scientists measure nitrogen balance (the amount of nitrogen entering the body in food versus the amount leaving the body in the urine) as an indirect way to measure whether muscles are growing or wasting. When you achieve a positive nitrogen balance your muscles are growing.

Biological value is a measure of a particular protein's effect on nitrogen balance, the more positvie the better. A whole egg's BV is 100, fish is 82, beef 80, chicken 79, soy 74, peanuts 68, wheat 54. Whey protein is 149.

And, as you mentioned, whey protein empties from the stomach and is absorbed into the bloodstream faster than other proteins.

So, for workout recovery, I would go for the whey protein.
