whey protein question

why is it important to drink whey protein after workout

is it only when workout includes weight training

if i only do cardio, should i still drink after workout?

what about my days off

i workout in the morning and when i drink whey protein after my workout and go to work, i have to go to the washroom non stop to urinate. And it's annoying

so is it ok if i take it before i sleep instead or it's a lot better after workout

and again why is it important? to build muscles only?

i did research on the net and i can't find specific answers

from what i know, taking a protein supplement helps rebuild your muscles after a tough workout, speeds recovery time, and decreases workout-related injury. i think its best to take it after your workout because that is when your muscles are working to repair & growth; the protein will help with this process.

i dont think it would hurt to take protein after cardio & strength workouts, esp if that cardio workout is weight-bearing. i usually will have a protein shake after a weight lifting session and a small protein bar after cardio, but that is just my personal preference. i also use the whey protein in meal replacement shakes for bfast, blended with some fruit, ice and water, sometimes milk.
