Where do you purchase your dumbbells?

I went to Sports Authority to buy a pair of 12 lb dumbbells. I wanted the metal kind with the hexagon or octagon sides. All their varieties of dumbbells went from 10 lbs to 15 lbs with the exception of their own brand which I hate because the grips are so large I can barely hold them and they look kinda cheesey. Their website has the ones I want to be purchased online as do other fitness companies. Unfortunately, the shipping is more than the dumbbells themselves. Should I just suck it up and order them online or have you been able to purchase your free weights in your city?

try play it again sports. they have new and used dumbbells in all styles but mostly they sell the iron hexagon dumbbells. and if they have a good pair of used ones they are less then .50 a pound.

KMart, Walmart...

Great suggestions, guess I didn't realize Walmart carried that type of thing. Will definitely check them as well as Play it Again.

I've bought some at Walmart, and I got 12s at Play It Again sports last week.

Just called my local Play it Again Sports and they have them! Thanks so much ladies. For some reason I spaced on this one and forgot all about them. I'll have to start shopping with them more.
