where do you find the energy

I dont know about the rest of the ladies in here but, i find it very hard to work out these days. I am 30 weeks along and the energy is dwindling. I work on my feet all day so by the time i get home from work i find it very hard to muster up the energy to work out. Sometimes i can barely take my dog for a walk. This is soo fustrating to me because i love being an active person. I find that when i am not working I am fine with a good workout but, other days forget it. Anyone feel this way?

I was in my first trimester on my feet as a full time hospital RN and honestly, with that job, I don't think I would even feel guilty about quitting my workouts late in the game in pregnancy. Ultimately, you gotta listen to your body.

I did feel like a different person pregnant. I'd huff and puff. Seemed like if I walked 10 feet I'd be out of breath. So, I have sympathy for you. Good Luck in the rest of your pregnancy--I can't believe you are 30 weeks already!

Oh yeah, definately. Just being on your feet all day is a workout now considering you are carrying that baby and you have probably put on somewhere around 20 pounds. Just think about it. If you were not pregnant and someone strapped a 20 pound weight on you and told you to hold it all day, you would be tired....right? Just listen to your body. Your body is working hard to support that little one and she is demanding a lot of your energy to grow now.

Hang in there!

I'm 31+ weeks along and up about 22 pounds now, so yes, hauling that extra weight around is taking its toll.

About four weeks ago, I noticed my energy really starting to dwindle. I was started to feel exhausted in the late afternoon, which has never been a problem for me. Got back the results of a blood test and not surprising, my iron levels were low, which I understand is a common event starting around the late 2nd trimester. I attribute my increased fatigue, need for naps, and desire for much easier workouts to this drop iron. However, because my hemoglobin has not dropped below 11, my doctor advised that iron supplements were optional in my case. I decided instead to up my intake of leafy greens (because I deplore constipation which iron supplements are known to bring on). The increasing of greens has really helped my energy in the past two weeks. Maybe you're iron is low and anemia is making you more tired than usual? Have you checked your iron levels lately?
